  1. looking forward to trying to make it out AND come early for the florida CCW.. what do I need? will my NRA first steps pistol document suffice for the proof of proper handling? and then how much do I actually pay FL for the permit? thanks!
  2. that is your choice.. I would not.. it is the ability to recognize that cops are human and make error.. there is no pissing match in explaining a simple error in policy.. hell if I were them I would be thankful that someone pointed it out as opposed to filing some form of legal challenge..
  3. as the LAW is written.. *they can not request additional forms... *they can deny you CCW based on lack of need... I think that what people here are saying is that "going with the flow" just enables them to pull more horse ****..
  4. as a general rule of thumb I don't say things online that I would not say in person.. I recognize that everyone is entitled to an opinion and it may not always match mine.. so for me personally I don't see the issue, but can still appreciate where you are going with that.. and you are right.. some people.. might make a big stink over something little.. me personally.. I would not rate someones post as negative (or positive) if I was not prepared to explain why.. the other issue is it being anonymous is allowing people who don't like certain people to just rate everything negative that person says, which skews the whole concept.. to note the rating system on another board I am on, you can't just go nuts rating one person.. there is a provision in there that forces you to rate different people before you can come back and rate the same person again.. I guess there are both positives and negatives for having it be public..
  5. I agree.. you don't have to "make a stink over it" as in throw a temper tantrum or anything.. just politely inquire... if that doesn't get them to back off collect up your material.. go home.. and contact the state police firearms division.. explain the situation and see if they can possibly help you... rolling over and playing the submissive game OR going in there screaming your head off are not the only two options open to you..
  6. as far as I know they can not make up unique individual criteria that is not set forth within the law.. call them and tell them you were reviewing 2c:58-3(f) and you were wondering if this was something new since the law specifically says (as per your understanding) that there must not be any additional forms.. and that you were wondering where you could find some information on these particular forms that are a requirement there.. http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/legis/2003c73.pdf
  7. I agree with this.. it would be nice to know why I got a + or - am I here for the popularity of my posts.. no.. I am far from popular.. but it would be nice to know what I said right or wrong that motivated someone to rate my comment..
  8. nice to know.. 2 months seems quick compared to some horror stories.. as far as the other form it was some time ago that I went there.. I wonder if they did away with it for some reason...
  9. fair enough.. I always tell myself the opposite but your post (and point) is VERY logical..
  10. lets hope so.. it might just finally put to bed my fear of the round vanishing.. I know I know.. there are tons of old odd rounds that you can still get.. but I am big on having common domestically available calibers.. so a big push for 7.62x39 rifles would make me plenty happy..
  11. I was partially joking... but none the less way more info than I ever knew..
  12. ha delete and hope it goes away.. in his defense.. I think he might have just over reacted due to the severity of the situation and just came right here to post it.. granted it is better to investigate info before you accidentally post false stuff.. but I am sure that it was not done with ill intentions...
  13. ha that thing is pretty solid.. for a light or laser... but I agree not a whole lot of meat there to actually secure something like a grip to..
  14. it actually doesnt look all that different from an AK to begin with..
  15. I thought a forward assist was something on AR series rifles put in place to try to overcome their "jam o matic" nature..
  16. yes.. they did vote against it.. I guess the "medical system" they have in place is far more profitable..
  17. wow.. 4 posts in like a minute.. guess we jumped all over that one.. lol
  18. I was about 8 or 9.. and it was a semi auto 22... kind of the same as described above.. had a relative in upstate PA take me out on the farm and setup some cans 10 to 20 feet away and just kind of showed me how to safely use the gun.. the ONE thing that stands out in my mind more than anything is this... being able to handle and shoot real guns any time I wanted with an adult made me never think about sneaking the gun behind anyone's back.. they totally took away the mystery of guns so I was not the slightest bit curious.. it was a situation where "want to shoot? go get an adult and they will take you out back to shoot" so I knew that was all I needed to do..
  19. all this domestic interest in 7.62x39 is pretty exciting.. the more rifles chambered in it.. the more common the caliber will get...
  20. My local police dept (Galloway twp) was always super nice.. but when I stopped in to change my address they gave me some form to fill out listing all the people who live with me.. when I asked them if it was new they said no they had always used it.. when I explained that I did not previously have to fill anything out like this when I applied they told me that it was strongly recommended because if I didnt and it turned out that there was a felon or something living there that I could possibly be in trouble at that point I explained that I lived alone but my girlfriend stays a lot.. at that point he recommended that I list her since she lives there "temporarily".. I politely declined.. everything was still issued in a timely manner...
