  1. I dont work there either but I think thier fear maybe what happen in webster NY girl bought gun gave to neighbor he killed his sister set fire to house killed two fireman that responded and then killed himself. Also NJ law you need a FID even for long guns. I do agree that I think this got out of control to bad everyone couldn't have just talked it out with out going extreme but I guess SP will handle it monday which ever way it goes. Hopefully they say owner gets her gun
  2. Shore Shot Pistol Range shared a link via Mike Beck. not sure if he works there or not I dont know there staff. It seams that is the link from this forum to the FB page
  3. The reason it is being talked about on FB is someone posted this to thier FB look at original link on FB. Now anyone (even non NJGF members) can see this thread on here from that link. Yet only NJGF members can post here but anyone friends with SS on FB can post to thier page after reading on here.
  4. OK i read this thread and the FB page. Sounds like a miss understanding that is spiralling out of control. You are mad they put it on FB but that was after someone on this page posted that you came on here bashing them so IMO you brought it to a public forum so they did the same. Also I see all these people saying I will be careful when I bring my wife.... I wouldnt cause i have a permit so it wouldnt "look" like a straw purchase. I'm not saying that is what was happening! Lets look at somewhat recent events. A girl bought a gun for someone and he killed two people then himself with it. Do I think they may be being over carefull maybe (if you can be) but if something did happen like that again can they hold SS responsible can they take there FFL away and shut them down? Can they make an example of them? I dont know but maybe a phone call to SP will starighten everything out and there is a couple day longer of a wait (yes I know you paid for it and that sucks) but we are in NJ so we should be use to waiting for permits and such. I dont like waiting 4-7days for a nics check but thats what we are dealing with right now cause of the time. I do agree DSD if you arent happy you should take your buisness elsewhere. I actually choose the place across the street as my range as well. I do understand that they wont send the gun to another FFL but they should return it to the orginall seller if they arent going to give it to the buyer.
  5. This made my day! I met some engineers that took apart a new fuel pump that they couldnt get to work. They worked on it for about a week but still couldnt fix it broke it down to the smallest parts and nothing. So they got a new pump and having same issue were puzzeled. Another guy came up said I think you have the pump in backwards and we have a winner! they had it flowing back towrd the fuel tank instead of to the motor. Sometimes you have to Keep it Simple I know a little off topic but still funny. On topic: I'm glad to see this topic cause I, like TheDon thought rifle and pistol were different when it came to travel glad to see I was wrong 2. A loaded rifle mag is good to go anywhere other than *in* the rifle firearm. 3. A loaded pistol mag cannot be in the same case as the pistol (because handguns and ammo must be transported separately unless you have a NJ CCW).
  6. I asked a police officer after a call I was on about this since I carry a springloaded for ease of opening when at work. Two officers standing there and one told me that it was fine as long as I was using it the way I was as a tool. If I used it to cut some one or threaten that would make it illegal. Then the other officer on scene standing there stated "no isnt that one of the illegal ones period" then they discussed it and I never got an exact answer so as others stated its all in how whoever is enforcing the law sees it.
  7. just an FYI if you dont want to pay 7% shore shot is located in the urban zone they only charge 3% its not 0% but its still helps
  8. Sorry didn’t get back on after checking the first 4 posts didn’t think it would blow up like this. Answer some questions yes I own guns. I normally clean in on my porch for reasons others said (wife not a fan of smell). I know accidents happen! Would I really be aiming my gun or even pointing at my kid NO I’m not a complete @$$. My yard is large 100x150 and section off for pool area and playground I have a patio between the two and could keep a good view either way. After reading the replies I think I will stay on the porch. The “I know my neighbors are good but would I flaunt jewelry in front” of them made sense and I wasn't thinking about that part. I was worried if they called and police came if it would be an issue. Although even when cleaning on my porch I don’t have a safe table. So sorry if you thought I was trolling I’m not a pro shooter just someone that believes in the 2nd amendment. Plus I don’t live on a PC to check this every 30seconds. Also don’t worry about my feelings I got thick skin not taking any of it personal. Also I'm not originally from NJ live here now though
  9. Thanks I didn't think it would be a problem but I just wanted a little reassurance
  10. Is it illegal in NJ if I sit in my back yard and clean my guns? I'm asking cause I usually watch my son play in the yard but when I'm just sitting there watching I figured it would be more productive to (for lack of better words) kill to birds with one stone. I have a 6foot fence all the way around but if my neighbors are upstairs they could see over the fence.
  11. where did you pick this up or was it a one time purchase? I have been looking at the stag model 3 but I wanted to do some more looking first
