I am not commenting on this because I want ammo. Just want to say this is really cool of you. (Please do not count this post as one of the first three)

Mine only has probs when I use cheap bulk ammo. Buy the good stuff and she runs like a champ.

Ok maybe I worded it wrong. I am not against the classes at all and I think they are great. I'm more looking for the sporting/fun aspect of it rather then doing it in a class type of environment. Something I can go do whenever I want just like going to a range.

Is there a range in Nj where you can go and practice room to room clearing? I am not leo or army. Just think it would be fun to learn and practice without paying for classes.

Sounds good. Thank you to all that posted with great info!

Hey guys/gals, I am starting my first AR build, I was wondering if you needed a pistol permit to buy a lower reciever in Jersey? Reason I ask is I have family in pa and I was told when you buy the lower its reg as a rifle and a pistol because you can build either. Is there any truth on this? Or at least would anyone have some input? Thank you in advance!!

Ok This makes sense to me now that you said it that way. I agree with how you said things could happen from the time you got your card until you buy.. I still do not agree with us being buyers having to work around the states schedule in order for us to buy at the times that we want to. It's hard for me to do things like this during the week considering I work 6 days a week.. But at this point I guess it is what it is. Thank you for your input. =)- 13 replies

Ok.. So im sure just like most things I see on here this has probably been talked about. But.. I went to Dicks today to buy a little .22 rifle for my girlfriend to use when we go shooting. Today being Saturday, 4/28/12. They told me that they could not sell me the gun because some place that does backround checks closes at 5 pm and is not open on Sunday either. Now this may be true. I have not actually looked it up yet. But what I do not understand is why you have to jump through so many hoops to enjoy shooting and buying guns in this state. I am not new to the gun world, however I am new to the buying guns in Nj world. You have to go through backround checks, mental health checks, references, and finger printing only to wait weeks if not months to get the privilege to buy guns that from my understanding should be a right providing you have a clean backround, and when you do get the FPID card you have to go through most of that again anyway. Not to mention what you have to do to get a handgun. This drives me crazy. Sorry I had to vent.

Brady Campaign renames HR 822
hondajon80 replied to NicePants's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
So would the brady bunch be all over this if Zimmerman had beaten the kid to death? I dont understand why people get all up in arms about "gun violence" when it's not the gun that kills. A gun does not have a mind set that makes them kill someone. There has to be a person behind the trigger to make the decision to pull it. Saying that by getting rid of guns will lower violence is stupid. If a person doesnt have a gun to kill they can use a bat, or a knife, or a brick for that matter. Should we get rid of all that stuff.. Or anything for that matter that can kill someone?
