  1. Hello everyone,

I figure most of us are “window shopping” between meetings, calls, dealing with kids or just to keep sane so I thought this might be a fun place to tell/show us what you’ve recently purchased.

For me, I’ve taken advantage of end of season winter sales picking up a new ski/snowboard rack for the jeep and jackets.  My best purchase though was this $11 purchase on Sunday.  I had a bunch of points on my Cabelas card and since I’ve stopped using it, I decided to cash them in.   So for $11 bucks including tax and shipping I got this and a couple 10/22 mags.  Open to hearing about any tips or tricks to build it and what Battery to use.

so, what has everyone else purchased to stay sane?

  2. As this ammo drought takes hold it got me thinking.  Are there any reloading items that can be used as an alternative to something that has become hard to source? An example would be X type of primer for Y type of primer or X type of power for Y type of powder.

During the last Ammo scare, I vaguely remember someone saying that they used small rifle primers to replace small pistol primers that were basically non-existent.   Since I was brand new to reloading and everyone preached keeping to known published recipes I never looked more into in.  So,  to all the more savvy experienced reloaders...is it true that you can use small rifle primers, like Remington #6 1/2 small rifle primers for CCI 500 small pistol primers.

is there anything else that could be substituted?  Modifying one caliber brass into something else?

    thanks

Hold your beer? ( don’t open it, I’ll hold it)

Yeah,  I know, but nothing was catching my eye.  Thought about a 365xl but no local shops had one to rent.  I guess I’ll just wait until next set of permits get approved and see if the Alpha makes it’s way to the states

Anyone ordering ammo online keep in mind that it looks like it is gonna take a while to ship and get to you. On midway usa, they only have standard shipping and if you buy now it will take up to the 23rd to get to you as of right now

Target sports updated their shipping times to reflect delays of 10 days.

    ...1500-2000....

are you sure you aren't missing a few zeroes?

Nah...  like others have said,  i have enough on hand.  the reloading is my mental escape,  I don’t need to roll thousands of rounds.  Just enough to supplement my range stash.

  6. Luckily, for me I learned how to reload after the SH tragedy.  Now I keep 1500-2000 components handy to load when time allows.  Now I load a few boxes at a time, shoot them and start over.

as for buying cheap cases, I’ve done that a couple times but not a whole lot.  After a while, storage becomes an issue.

is anyone buying the steel case stuff at .13/round or sticking to brass stuff?

How much ammo can someone who was never a Ranger or SEAL go through in a gun fight?  I mean... I’m all for having a Really good stock, but if you’re expecting a gun fight in a few weeks, why buy 6 cases?  Seems like it would be over after a mag or two.

I’m with you.  It’s overkill and like some keyboard commandos, he’ll be the guy sitting in basement with a drop leg holster strapped on.

the sales guy just laughed him off and happily took his money

  8. It’s everywhere...

was in the heritage guild Branchburg store today.  Some dude walked in wearing a gas mask, rubber gloves and literally bought the last 6 cases of 556 and 5 cases on 9mm.

it was the oddest thing I’ve ever seen.  The clerk said people have been coming in buying any and everything.  He’s not sure it’s Biden getting the lead or CV.

  9. Depending on the day it’s probably more skiers, but not by much.  Snowboarders definitely make up a decent numbers on the weekends.

i was there yesterday and it was nice,  not crowded at all and trails held up until 2:30 before too soft.

    tickets are still available.

  10. Season is definitely not over.  I’ll be there r every weekend until the grass is popping thru the snow.

In all seriousness, Blue really is a nice mountain.  Not nearly as crowded as Camelback, nicer learning center, family friendly and less than an hour away from most central NJ location.

where were you two weeks ago!!!!  lol

Sent you my info via text

  11. Hello NJGF family

I have 3, full day, no black out date lift tickets to Blue Mountain.  They’re valid for the rest of the 2020 ski season which includes November and December.  I bought them for my son and then had the chance to buy a season pass for him, negating the need for them.

I’m located in Clinton but work in Summit and can meet anywhere between those location off the i78 corridor.  I can also meet within 30 minutes of Clinton if if you don’t travel i78.   I paid $190 for them (daily walk up fee is $70 for weekend),  so here is a chance to get a nice savings.  I’ll take $150 or any reasonable offer close to that.   I just don’t want them to go to waste unused.

    thanks

    LLC came thru today.
I'm an actual "business".  Kinda weird for me, honestly.  I never thought I'd get here.

    LLC fee - 304
    + 75
Grand total so far - 389

Congrats and remember....keep every single receipt for tax time.
you gonna share with us the design ideas?

  13. Hello everyone,

I’m looking to sell or trade 3 tickets to the New York Redbulls home opener, Sunday 3/1/2020,  in Harrison NJ.  Game time is 1pm.

Tickets are in Section 123 (lower bowl sideline) roughly inline with the penalty mark, row 6, seats 6,7 and 8.  Great view of the game and action.   I know we have some soccer fans on the forum so I’m hoping someone will be able to use and enjoy them. Just behind the seat section is the new Heineken section that will offer open seating bar top tables to view the game from.

Face value of each ticket is $28 with prices averaging $35 on ticketmaster reseller.  I’m looking for $25 each OBO.  Parking is not included since that is run independently from the redbulls.  You can park next to stadium for $20 or in one of several private lots for $10-15. Trades open for Ammo or P320 parts.

Stadium is easily accessible by the path or new train station in Harrison. 15 minute walk train station to stadium.  Lastly, stadium is moving towards a mostly paperless operation.  Tickets will be sent via email, but you will need a Ticketmaster app to see them.  Also most concession stands prefer credit cards but will have a dedicated cash line.

lets me know if you have any question.  Cross posted on local neighbor board as well.
