  1. been working on this for a while now, finally got a prototype I'm very happy with. the project began with 2 30rd pmag bodies, cut down to 15 each, base plates are removed and replaced with a custom formed thermoplastic internal connector, then roll pinned and finally wrapped and epoxyd in .028 formed kydex. each side holds 15rds, with a total of 30 rds. they are not continually fed, so once you exhaust one side you must flip over for the next 15.
  2. i had the same logic pizza bob, but just wanted to play it safe
  3. interested in chopping off the fsb on my saiga to weld a brake. my brake has breacher spikes, my questions is do those spikes count as the overall length of the 16" final measurement?
  4. ive had zero problems with my ksg. feeds and shoots anything I feed it. I saw that mac video when I was planning my buy and I was a little concerned as well. its obvious to me now though that mac and his buddy were both too light on the pump. you really need to slap back like you mean it. if you're interested in handing one before you make a decision, you're more than welcome to handle mine. I'm usually at south jersey shooting club on weekends.
  5. Roughly 250 rounds, mostly 00 buck and rifled slugs, not one issue. Cycled everything flawlessly. Couldn't be happier, also very happy with aft, tried a vertical grip, apart from not liking the aesthetics of it, it just doesn't feel as natural as the afg.
  6. If that doesn't work out for you, give these a try, they are from tyr tactical. Holds 20, I absolutely love them
  7. I've seen your saga 12 you're right not to give that up......but I'd give a jersey version of it up in a heartbeat
  8. That is sweet...have you seen the definitive arms conversion with LRBHO? http://www.definitivearms.com/main_page.html
  9. They activate the flashlight, its a wireless remote switch tac light.
  10. That is a lot of questions indeed.... as far as some brands to stay away from, I can think of two right off the top of my head, definitely AIM Sports and UTG. And some you want to considers would be Midwest Industries, Parabellum Armament, Krebs Custom and Rifle Dynamics. I went thought a ton of setups before I ended up with what you see below, started out as a plain old Saiga sporter import. I found that the best way for a sling setup for me was to use the rifle dynamics m4 stock adapter and then you can use any of the m4 end plate qd sling adapters.
  11. mi rail is practical, i tried 2 others before i settled on it, i found them kinda bulky, as far as cleaning i havent given it much though to be honest, but then again how often do you really need to clean the gas tube. this is what i used to thread http://www.cncwarrior.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=25145 and a 1/2 pipe cutter to cut off the barrel shroud. ive also read that once the barrel shroud tip is cut, some people get lucky and discover that the barrel is already threaded underneath. dont know where you located but id be willing to lend a hand, im in the atlantic city area
  12. i really love it, theres really 2 good options for a dust cover mounted optic, the akars and the texas weapons systems version, anything else i think is waste of time and money. i choose the akars mainly because it has a built in rear sight where as the texas weapons system is picatinny mounted and an extra add on. Im very happy with the way it mounts, and how rigit it is. As far as holding zero, i dont have a personal opinion yet cause i havent shot it yet, but i saw a review MAC (Military Arms Channel) did and he seems to think it holds zero just fine, so thats good enough for me
  13. scratch that, i just had a brain fart...did i quick little strip and measured individually..... she comes in at 10.3
  14. my little postage scale tops out at 8 pounds....i would prob put it around 8.5 lbs
  15. very nice, what you would expect from a 400 dollar optic, most impressive is the eye relief, very generous. i had the 3x prior, man what a difference 2 more x's make, excellent, good, crisp glass.
  16. i was sold on the gogun after seeing their youtube videos of their 556 version. i am very anxious to see the difference myself
  17. the scariest part was threading and tac welding that beast in the front
