  1. Rifle kit got shipped today. Estimated delivery on thursdsy. Friend of mine had an extra lower kit, so with his help on detent spring, got that assembled. Picture isnt posting for some reason. As soon as i get it to work it will be up. On another note, who saw this today? http://gunssavelives.net/blog/court-cases/breaking-federal-judge-rules-ar-15s-are-dangerous-and-unusual-not-protected-by-2nd-amendment/
  2. Post up some pics when youre done. Id like to see how it comes out
  3. These are such well put together guns. I also have an all steel .40. I bought it quite a few years ago now and havent regretted my purchase once. It was the first pistol i ever bought. Love going to the range with it. Thought about getting a holster for it, but whats the point in jersey anyway. It's too heavy to carry anyway. Carried it at my business once during sandy aftermath as i had about 20 generators for sale. Gun weighs a ton!
  4. Ordered my rifle kit from palmetto today. ~15 days for shipping so in 2 weeks ill be all set. Lookimg forward to it! Total is under $600 until i get a carry handle.
  5. Nice! I was going to go that way until i saw that rifle kit available for the price. Figure ill fight with the lower for my first build then maybe in the future put together another one part for part. Hoping to order my kit next week
  6. Howell Gun Works in none other than Howell. Great bunch of people there. Thats where i nust picked up mine. $118 + NICS
  7. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/rifle-kits/psa-16-stainless-mid-length-1-7-freedom-rifle-kit.html Probably go with this kit. I am stuck on the stainless barrel for some reason. I was thinking of going with a 14.7" length, but for this price i really cant complain. Anyone else use this kit or palmetto? Thoughts? Most issues ive read about involve the shipping time, but im not worried about that.
  8. Just putting it together to go have fun at the range. I'm looking for a light and quick feel. Budget? I'm figuring a total of about 700. I spent 118 plus NICS on the lower so I have some options. Tomorrow I will be looking at more builds on here. I have been he checking fewith he past few days which is what made me decide to go out today for the lower. No rush on my end so I'll have some time to research and get everyone's opinions. Thanks for the replies
  9. After procrastinating for years, I am finally going to build my first AR. Went out and purchased my Spikes lower today to start things off. Now to figure out what I want to do to build the rest. I may just go the quick route and order a complete upper assembly from Del-Ton, but I haven't decided yet. Buddy of mine has built about 9 of them, so he will be helping me assemble. I am really looking forward to this build. Here is the lower I went with. Got it from Howell Gun Works. Had a great experience with them http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-multi-forged-spider-bullet-markings-p-52.html Anyway, any input would be appreciated as well as different kits, parts, etc people have used.
  10. I understand purchasing and storage, but it was my understanding if you use it at your house as self defense, youre going to jail. Either way, I just hope I never have to worry about a day like that.
  11. I have had a full sized BE .40 for several years now and have never had an issue. I have fired off close to a thousand rounds from my pistol and the only time I ever had an issue was with some steel ammo. Happened to me one time, but never again. Running brass through it has been flawless. Breakdown is very simple. I can take it apart in a few seconds and reassembly is just as easy. I find it to be very balanced. People complain about the weight? It is a full steel gun, of course it's going to be heavier than a poly gun, but when buyin a full sized, I like being able to feel a gun. A poly gun is only good if it is a concealed gun in my opinion because you want it to stay that way. Since you can't carry in NJ, I figure what's the point anyway.
  12. I thought hollow points were basically illegal in the state of NJ the second any citizen walks out of a gun store with them in his posesssion? Please point me where I can read that I am wrong on that because I am very interested. I have a box of Winchester HP that I just bought years ago in NH because it only cost me about $13. I leave my .40 loaded with standard ammo, but if I can legally use it for home protection, I will reload with HP.

    Hi

Just joined the forum, obviously. Buddy of mine always told me about it so I decided to join up. Proud gun over for over 10 years. I currently own a Baby Eagle .40 and a Revelation Model 120 which is just fun to plink with and not spend a ton on ammo. I am waiting for my pistol permits to come in so I can buy who knows what. Looking for a compact 9mm or .380.
