  1. Here is the link http://www2.ca3.usco...rch/121150p.pdf Hardiman's dissent starts on page 33....great read
  2. Two great pics. Of particular interest to Nj residents was Hardiman's dissenting opinion in Drake. "Hardiman’s opinion in Drake v. Filko is a strong statement of his commitment to a more expansive view of the Second Amendment. The case was a challenge to a New Jersey law regulating the issuance of permits to carry handguns in public. Among other things, the gun owner seeking a permit is required to show that he has a “justifiable need” to carry the gun. The panel ruled in favor of the state, but Hardiman dissented from that ruling. He emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decisions in District of Columbia v. Heller and McDonald v. City of Chicago both “indicate that the Second Amendment extends beyond the home,” and that – at least in his view – the law violates the Second Amendment. After considering the case at three different conferences, the Supreme Court declined to review the case on the merits, as it did with several other cases presenting the same question."
  3. Priebus on sanctuary cities: 'If you defy the laws of this country, you shouldn't receive federal taxpayer dollars'
  4. Well we already have two dems who have crossed over in the form of co-sponsors, and I do think they care about places like NYC ( original and current language read "states and political subdivisions") that term is a direct reference to NYC. While they may not care so much about the actual residents, they do care very much about their constituents and even family members visiting these places. This is exactly what we have all been waiting for.
  5. I am not sure you can become "immediately aware" The act of becoming aware is instantaneous in and of itself.. You were "unaware" before reading the requirements. You became "aware" after reading the documents.
  6. Heller decision said the states have a right to regulate, and also Heller was vauge concerning if the right extends outside the home. That is how NJ and a couple of other holdout states have been able to do what they have been doing. This new bill will solve all of this. Everyone should read the Heller decision in its entirety. If you really want to see how close we came as a country to losing our 2a rights, read the dissenting opinion as well. Remember there were 4 dissenters, including the Chief Justice. We are very very lucky that President elect Trump won.
  7. From Wiki: Nullification, in United States constitutional history, is a legal theory that a state has the right to nullify, or invalidate, any federal law which that state has deemed unconstitutional. The theory of nullification has never been legally upheld by federal courts.[1] Courts at the state and federal level, including the U.S. Supreme Court, repeatedly have rejected the theory of nullification.[2] The courts have decided that under the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution, federal law is superior to state law, and that under Article III of the Constitution, the federal judiciary has the final power to interpret the Constitution. Therefore, the power to make final decisions about the constitutionality of federal laws lies with the federal courts, not the states, and the states do not have the power to nullify federal laws.
  8. congrats dj!! that means that a njfid is all that is needed. NH refers to it as a license, not a permit. A permit implies permission. NJ is a permission state. NH is a live free or die state
  9. There are some good points in that video, both for rentals and against. I can tell you that if I was in my bay shooting, I would prefer other members next to me shooting, not someone off the street who just rented.
  10. you should stop bothering them. just let it run its course.

  13. those rules apply to YOU as a PA resident traveling within the state, but not to ME as an interstate traveler.. my travel falls under FOPA rules
  14. "If you have no carry permit, you cannot take a handgun to a walmart in PA by vehicle. " Mipa, Wouldnt Fopa apply here? Legal at the start of your journey (your home in NJ) Transported according to Fopa, trunked etc. Legal at the end of your journey ( open carrying in PA wal mart)
  15. ""if you went to PA with a handgun and not to a range in PA, either traveling to or from PA, in NJ you are in violation of the law in NJ."" Tbill, I do not believe that is correct
