  1. Thanks for the suggestions, guys; it's good to have some input from experienced guys. I am still undecided at this point but not in a particular hurry. Someone may come along and see the thread and want it. Actually had a NOVEL IDEA!!! ... anyone interested in trading for 1000 small pistol primers!!!! (or small rifle if they will work in 38 specials and 9mm; ... have not gotten around to trying that yet) If you bought primers "way back when" ... this could be a good deal for you! ... and work out for me too. Should I relist this in the WTT section? .... if I include my baby brudder in the trade will that sweeten the deal??? ( ...sorry, Jack, .. even though you were mom's favorite! )
  2. Took a ride out to Pa. last week; hit Sarco and bought some HP38 and Unique one pounders right around $30.00 each. Then drove up to Bowers Hardware in Slatesboro/Slatesville (?) about 40 minutes further. Had a SHI(P)LOAD of 9mm.! ... target, ... some no name, ... federal, defensive, and other stuff. I picked up 3 - 50 round boxes of NEW cheapo for 40 cents a round and shot it the next day. Brass case, reloadable, FMJ, 115 gr. What surprised me was full 1000 round cases of Federal 9mm at 40cents a round!!!! .....A FULL PALLET OF THEM!!! Even a bunch of uniformed LEOs in there buying up some "work" stuff! Definitely worth the ride. I was actually looking for T&T reloading in Stockerton; but they apparently closed their doors years ago and never took down the web site. Guess I should have known, ... they were advertising CCI SPPs for $32.00 a thousand!!! Take a look at their web site and eat your heart out on what prices WERE five years ago!!!!
  3. Well, that sounds like a much better deal!! ... Any more details? Where and when they have them?
  4. The gun does have a serial number as shown in pics. When I bought it I did not have to register it through an FFL, so it is not "tagged" to me; I bought it out of state. Also shown are accessories that will go with it including primers, wadding, powder, primer tool, and powder pellets. I would think that the whole deal is worth $150.00? Opinions? PM me. I will have to think about what I am going to do with it.
  5. I have the above listed black powder pistol with a 5 1/2" bbl and the complete "kit" required to shoot it. (ball, black powder charges, wadding, primers, cleaning solvent etc.) that I would like to sell here. Do black powder pistols require an FFL transaction or how can they be legally sold in this venue? Will publish pics after I learn how to sell.
  6. This is a Hi Point 40 cal S&W auto that I purchased a few years ago. Do not shoot it often because I bought a Glock after that. It is in very good condition works as it should and comes with two 10 round magazines. I did have it out to the range today and it does shoot well. The web site provides the following information about it: 100% American made parts and assembly, plus P rated, quick on/off thumb safety, high impact polymer frame, 3 dot adjustable sights, last round lock open, weight 35 oz., O.A. length 7.75" bbl. length 4.5", magazine disconnect safety, manual thumb safety, lifetime warrantee (not sure if it follows the gun or original purchaser only) Price is $125.00 and purchaser pays all transfer and registration fees. FFL transfer only and I will meet you at FFL within 30 minutes of my location in Linden, N.J. I use Tier 1 Defense on Stuyvesant Ave. in Union who has reasonable fees. First I'll take it wins, cash deal at FFL only.
  7. There were 3 holders that came with the press originally, I don't remember exactly which ones they were but I know that I added the ones for 38 special, 9mm (40 S&W) and 45 colt. The Lee numbers are 1,2,4,13,14,and19. I don't know exactly which ones are which but they will fit a bunch of different cartridges. I don't know what a military brass swager is so unless it was included with the original Lee package I don't think so.
  8. Price reduced to $125.00 if anyone interested. Also on Ebay so may not be available for long.
  9. This is a Lee Automatic Processing Press (APP) almost brand new. It is for really fast and high volume case preparation /de priming / re-sizing / lead bullet sizing. If not familiar with it go to you tube for videos of it in action. It is REALLY FAST and worked great for me; I only used it twice and processed all the brass that I have about 1,000 rounds and don’t shoot enough to warrant keeping it. Included with it are three additional special shell case holders (6 in total) the Lee universal case feeder and colator with a shell deflector, that REALLY speeds things up, and a plastic bin for catching finished cases. I have it set up on a plywood jig that will fasten to any bench or table top but it can also be direct mounted. I have over $200.00 invested here looking to get $150.00 for all. Pick up only in Linden, N.J. 07036. First to post "ILL TAKE IT" wins the sale.
  10. Yeah, 1000 of my large for 1000 of your small sounds good. Where would you like to trade? have you been to RTSP in Union? I'm not far from there if that works for you. dave Anyone else interested in only 1000 let me know. dave
  11. You need Federals, or you have Federals to trade?
  12. I have 3000 CCI-300 large pistol primers I would like to trade for small pistol primers. Will travel 30 - 45 minutes from my location in Linden, N.J. or meet someplace. Thanks, dave.
  13. That's the one guys! Many thanks. I agree, and I'm not that brave. Actually bought the ammo for the cases and primers only. Thanks, again. My grass can use the help!!! dave
  14. I picked up some 38 special ammo for components, most of it looks old. The first few I break down I find this powder inside that looks like tiny Cheerios. Anyone recognize it or know what it is? That's a dime in the pic for contrast. Thanks, Dave
  15. Don't think that will help me but thanks for trying. Dave
  16. ... Now why does that sound unusual? OK; I have a brand new sealed box of 5,000 CCI large pistol primers. I would like to trade 3,000 or 4,000 of them for CCI small pistol primers. Even up. 3,000 large for 3,000 small, or 4,000 large for 4,000 small. I will travel half hour or 45 minutes to meet you for even up exchange face to face, or we can meet at my club Lake Island Pistol club in Carteret. Exchange only, NOT FOR SALE!
  17. Picked up a partial kit for a Lee old style Autoprime2, which I understand has been discontinued, that is missing some parts. If anyone has one or the parts available I would be interested. Attached is a picture with the parts I need circled in red. (the actual ram, small and large primer pins, spring, and washers) I have contacted Lee and the parts are not available for purchase. I'm in Linden and will pick up or pay for shipping and what asked for if reasonable. ( might even be willing to trade for 100 small or large pistol primers) P.M. me if you can help me out, thanks. ap2.pdf
  18. Hey to all you Scotch Plains and Fanwood guys! I'm also S.P. I used to shoot at Heritage Easton, but had the good fortune to hook up with John Fox and became a member at Lake Island in Carteret! BEST THING I EVER DID!! GREATEST THNG SINCE SLICED BREAD! Being retired, I go just about every Monday morning and have the entire range to myself. (did I say 20 - 25 minutes door to door!! ...keypad access!!!...parking lot!!! ....25 yard indoor range!!!!!) Now comes the special thanks to John Fox who sponsored me and walked me through the membership proceedure. You are the best!!! Any of you guys who are like me, not quite a newbie but looking to really improve your shooting skills in a quiet friendly and convenient setting are encouraged to talk to John about becoming a member. Experience the difference between BELONGING to a club, rather than SHOOTING at a range! ($$$$$$$$) My abilities have gotten better exponentially!!! (......that means I get a lot in the actual scoring rings now, ...at 25 yards!) Any other old fogies and young ones also who have free time on Monday mornings are welcome to PM me and be my guest to see what it looks like. John, also, always guests new guys so you can talk to him too.
  19. Talking about Tisas 1911's? I picked mine up Thursday afternoon. I found it used on Gunbroker for $275.00 1911A1 black, and I never would have guessed that it was not factory new!!! Only looked like less than a box of rounds through it, hammer had just a whisper of wear, entire gun looked primo. I'm guessing the reason was that there was a very slight problem with the mag ( ...a wise old range officer at Heritage told me anytime you have a 1911 problem, try a different brand mag FIRST!!) he was right. Tried a colt mag and worked fine; took a close look at the Tisas and found that a hint of adjustment where the mag touched the ejector button did the trick. Friday, put two boxes of reloads through it with only one jam, and I'm sure that that will work itself out in a few hundred rounds. NOW, HERE'S THE KICKER!!! The only reason I hesitated on the TIsas to start with was because I was afraid of a crappy trigger which is all you really hear about. I was very disappointed with a Rock Island 1911 trigger I rented from RTSP and held off buying one. Maybe I just got lucky, but my Tisas trigger was really sweet! Even my FFL who checked it out before transfer couldn't believe how crisp and easy it was! He even told me when he opened the box upon receipt he said to himself, OK, trigger job, but changed his mind on trying it. It shot really nice and the sights were very good also; I'm still getting used to it but I think I found me a winner; ....especially at that price!!! Anyone else with a Tisas update?
