So it'll be at the FFL tomorrow. Excited to check it out and fill out NICS on Friday, still don't know when I'll be able to pick it up but would love to order anything I would need for it in advance if anyone has suggestions.

So I ordered a surplus Italian police issued Beretta M1951 from kygunco.com about 10 days ago, with the holiday weekend and The Rona it finally shipped today. Between work and NICS I probably won't even have it in my hands for a couple weeks. Seems like a standard single stack 9mm semiauto. Anything else I should know about it? I've never purchased a surplus firearm before. I probably would want to switch out the grips pretty soon so would like to also look for those and order it before I get it. Any suggestions?

Yes to prevent any delays. If someone has same or similar name with a record, it'll hold up your application. SS# alleviates this issue most of the time.

Update:
So on 8/15 I received the application approval email as stated above. On 8/18 (yesterday) I got the call from my local PD that my permits were ready. I went yesterday and picked them up. When I got home they were dated 8/11...

@1LtCAP we got our background check email the same day. This morning I received the Application Approved email, and to wait until my local PD contacts me to pick them up. So on the State's end, we're close!

Magpul milspec carbine fixed stock and a Bravo buffer tube, spring, buffer is what I went with my first build. Like Johnny said...ammo will be hard to come by.

My first lower was about $100, my second was $49.99 plus $45ish transfer/NICS so if you get around that you're good to go. I go with complete uppers which will run you $250-$300, rest of that parts shouldn't be inflated too much. You should still be able to build a rifle under $700 I would think, as long as you can find the parts.

Sportsmansguide.com will, even pistol ammo with no FID. A few other places I have shopped in the past have stopped, citing a directive from NJ from end of February that is unfounded.
I can only assume NJ AG has threatened lawsuit or other BS.

My NICS went in Thursday July 30th at about 12:45pm, I'll update when I get the call I'm approved. I'm assuming it'll be Tuesday. I would prefer Monday since I don't work but I won't hold my breath.

HAHA I got my email yesterday also! Next you'll get a completion email then the PD has to type up the permits, sign, and contact you for pickup.

@eyeinstine I can't find it on here, it may have been a discussion on FB. Either way it's a Member's Mark case from Sam's Club. It was just under $30.

I can't remember where I purchased it. Someone posted a deal on here 2-3 years ago on it and a bunch of us purchased them. It's pull and pluck foam so you can configure it any way you want. I have mine set to hold 4 handguns and 16 mags. I'll see if I can find the post about it.

I built my own. Similar to this one but all PVC pipes I cut to 18" and added a piece to the back of it also.

I applied for permits on 6/20 and still haven't gotten the background check complete email. I emailed my local PD a few days ago to just check to make sure all was in order and he informed me that he's getting approvals from end of May/early June
gonna be a few more weeks for me.

You used to have to sign it in front of them. With the introduction of FARS I'm not 100% sure what the new procedure would be.

I was searching some stuff to try and help. But according to this law office easements don't transfer to the new owners of the property depending on the easement. IDK if this applies to your case, just putting it out there.
