  1. Here is a log of my trip to work this morning with the V1 G2. All X and K band. I will probably turn that back off after a few weeks or lock them out with the software GPS blocking.
  2. Yeah, I actually went to Home Depot and Lowes to find some Rain Bird irrigation valves because Amazon wasn't shipping for weeks. It reminded me of how much I dislike hunting for specific things in stores. Home Depot says Aisle 12, EC2. Ok, I know, after a dozen ventures like this that EC stands for End cap. However, EC2? Which end? It's neither. Seriously. I ask around and a guy points down about 3 aisles. It was on Aisle 22, EC1. Asswipes. Of course, I get there and the 3 in stock turns into 1 new in stock, with 2 returns of unknown working state. I buy one and go to a different store and repeat the same procedure. Nothing is ever where it is supposed to be. Lowes? Buried behind a box, 12 feet in the air, 3 bays down. !@#$^%!!!!!!
  3. Target size is a preference, that said, I usually use 6 to 8 inch splatterburst sticky targets for pistols at 10-25 yards and 12-16 for longer distances with rifles at 100-300. At 300, I'll often put one huge target, typically stapled, as the huge sticky ones cost too much. I buy them when I see 'em at stores or just order a pile from Amazon.
  4. The new one arrives Monday. I'll run it for a few days just to make sure it's solid. I want this new one for my trip to FL. It's still works great and was the latest or close to the latest firmware with junk fighter and all that. I'll let you know.
  5. I agree. There is no other way right now. There's probably a module that could be installed to make it happen, but there currently is not.
  6. You have to go to each thread you posted in and edit the post to remove the content.
  7. You can have have two people sitting in lawn chairs with a Honda 2200 3 feet away and have a nice conversation. The Ryobi would need to be on the other side of the house. Generators are LOUD, well except that Honda Also remember storage. A big generator takes up a lot of space. The Honda can be tucked under a bench or put in a cabinet. The Honda is also an inverter generator which means the power is clean. The other generators are a lot dirtier. You probably won't have any issue, but sensitive equipment can be affected. I would recommend a UPS if you plan on running computers on the generator that is not an inverter, like the Honda.
  8. After I upgraded to the latest firmware it stopped 99% of the falsing. I turned of X and K since it's not in use in NJ. With Waze and the V1, it's hard to catch me. I have not had a speeding ticket since 1995 but I also have finely honed radar cop instincts ;). You can usually tell where they will hide by the terrain. Curves with long straightaways ahead where they can sit and use the rear gun and ping you as you appear. Gives them a nice long run out to catch you.
  9. I sent mine in a couple years back due to all the falsing from collision sensors on current vehicles. It quieted it down significantly. Apparently with JVB1(android), you can get control over everything and it can overlay right onto waze. That's frickin awesome! It will even turn on/off bands based on the state you're in. Like you, I see no cop running anything but constant on KA in NJ except once I got a laser alert on the turnpike and it was real as I could see the guy with the gun. It arrives Monday, so I'll get back to this thread once I have some more information.
  10. First question. Anyone else have a Gen2? So I've been running a Valentine 1 gen 1 since 1995. I have upgraded this Radar Detector 4 or 5 times. It currently is on the most recent firmware available for the Gen 1. Now they have a Gen 2. I bought a Gen 2 full retail. The reason is because of Covid and the shutdown Valentine Research is not doing upgrades yet. I am going to Florida in a few weeks and I wanted to get my hands on the new RD for the trip because it is blue-tooth to the phone and allows you to modify sweeps and whatnot to block persistent sources. Very useful. I will have the old one afterword and I will probably sell it cheap enough for someone to get a discount off retail. That's another thread. I was curious if anyone used the apps that were available on the Gen 1 through the Saavy link or whatever that was and if it was just not worth bothering.
  11. Back in the day before Fedex ground, Fedex shipped EVERYTHING, every, single package went to the hub in Tennessee. You ship something to your next door neighbor and it was flown out of state before coming right back. It had to do with their optimization system and it worked very well. This was in the 90s. When the airplane fuel costs started to be an issue, it changed and they figured out a way to do local turn-arounds.
  12. I'm an IT type. I don't like messy files floating around. I've since sold the guns, but it doesn't really matter. I do have my own webserver but it's more of a pain to upload them there and link back than to just insert. Shrug. Thanks.
  13. One caveat I just noticed. When I was clearing out those inherited guns, I posted a bunch of pics in the thread. The thread is closed. I cannot edit the pictures out of the thread. You could delete the whole thread? If not do the attachments get stuck in limbo?
  14. The only way I've been able to figure it out is to go to My attachements in your profile, go to the last page and delete them one by one on each thread. One would think you could wholesale it from "My Attachments" but I can't seem to figure it out either.
  15. Yesterday I shipped a package from Maywood NJ to Newark NJ. Estimated delivery is Tuesday. LOL.
  16. If you just want fridge, some lights and phone chargers, really look at one of the Honda EU2200 generators. I have a whole house 14kw for here in NJ. Used it for 25 hours during Sandy, 50 last fall and a smattering of sub 8 hour outages since 2012. My house in Florida has none and as soon as I move permanently down there, I'm buying one of those Hondas. They are so quiet and the power is absolutely clean. It will do whatever you need it to do. If you ever go to a swap meet or the like, most vendors that have power use one. Super reliable, sips gas. All that said, other generators will work just fine as long as you drain the gas after usage otherwise the carb will be garbage 2 years later when you want to use it. I had a Generac 4000XL and I kept a spare carb($19 on Ebay) for it. Every couple years I'd just replace the carb. Things tolerate ethanol much better these days, but it's still an issue. The best thing about those Hondas is that used, they sell for nearly as much as new. If you upgrade later, you can get at least 70% of what you have in it.
  17. Here's the thing. You will need to change the oil after about 8 hours of running. Buy three now. When you hit 8 hours, and change it, you will have enough. Yes, you need to fill it. These things run hot, they run at 3600RPM and they will labor pretty hard under a full load. They also burn oil, all small engines do to one extent or another. This is why the capacity is what it is and they didn't pluck the number out of the air.
  18. A neighbor called, our driver was "out sick". Probably still is. Probably sick of long hours. My package is out for delivery again today. I have no expectation that anything is changing. They are simply going to ignore our route until they get around to it. Our guy probably is taking this week off, so next Monday at best.
  19. I had that in Puerto Rico with USPS. I had the right address on the package...it floated around the island for almost two weeks until someone finally looked at the label and delivered it there. I think the post office had the electronic data wrong. Honestly, I don't think a UPS truck has been around my town this week at all.
  20. I guess business is kicking back in? I've had multiple packages delayed at work. One shipped from Boston on Friday. It still hasn't arrived and those normally come the next day. Then this thing. Got a new cover for my truck bed, it's somewhere, bouncing around in a truck, or not, or it is, or not, or who the eff knows. I guess if I wait long enough I'll get my money back from Amazon. Wow this is annoying.
  21. I was there a Week ago Sunday and they were making us go every other port, however there were a number of people sharing a port who obviously arrived together. The RO that was there wasn't busting anyone's balls. We talked a bit and he was just happy the range was open.
  22. Other than a few bits on Amazon, I have only ordered parts from Rock Auto. Great company. I bought the timing belt kit for my Acura about a month ago, as well as the serpentine belt and tensioner. A few weeks back I bought pads and rotors for the same car from Rockauto.
  23. I like my Black Rapid slings. I have the double, but I've split it and use it as two singles. I did a hike with that big lens(4.25lb) on the crop and the 2.8 lens(2lb) plus the weight of the bodies on the two slings. I was fine for the first 4 or 5 miles...got to be a drag after that. Couldn't wait(weight!) to stuff 'em back in the car. I've never been much more than a landscape and wildlife photographer. My portraits stink! I do fancy myself a bit of a videographer but I'm always looking for new stuff to shoot. The bummer is for everyday use, my Galaxy S9 takes great photos. So great that I can't be bothered to get the good camera unless it _really_ needs it. I will also say I've been using my 80D for Zoom meetings. Everyone comments "wow, you've got the best picture, what phone are you using?" *sigh*
  24. Thank you! I have a lot of money tied up in Camera gear and it's nice when it pays off once in a while The 360 camera is a Xiaomi Mi-Sphere and they are under $200 these days. I paid a bit more. The software kinda sucks, but it works. I've been toying with getting a Ricoh Z1 and I would have already if they were in stock. Those take exceptional pictures, but the video isn't as good because it doesn't stablize like the Mi-Sphere does. I have a Mavic too. If you dig around in my Youtube channel, there are some pretty good drone movies I had a Canon L 100-400 I had bought used but at the time I had a really cheapy rebel XT(dating myself) and I couldn't take a picture worth a damn with it so I sold it and bought a T2i. The T2i was a great camera, still is in fact, my Niece has it. I bought the 80d and the 6d a few years back and they both are fine. I'd like to get the HIgh-end mirrorless now but I want to wait to pull the trigger until they come down in price.
