  1. I agree with everything you say and here is the stark reality to your points: #1) I work with a few people from Russia. They said "The money has run out in the Soviet Union so the Communist from there came to here...to steal money and power" It is that simple! #2) Fight for CCW... times are tough and getting off of work to go to Trenton (daily) ain't possible. Even though it is important (CCW) providing for our family is more important. I want CCW REAL bad as I see more and more riots and robberies. The only way for it to work in NJ is supporting SAF and others that will fight for this cause. Politicians don't care about our voice anymore... they only listen to money and power. That is it...
  2. Maybe I am blind or a bit naive, but until 2009 I thought we had few to little problems in the USA.However, in the past few years the more research I did the more I realize how "Socialistic" our society has become. In the last ten years our free speech has been attacked like never before. Our 2A has been under attack for 50 years or more. Entitlement programs, government growing, regulations through the wazoo, government that is doing what THEY want to and not represent us, etc. Honestly, I feel the only thing that differentiates us from Europe in the 1A, 2A and the some of the free thinkers we have left in society. However, they are coming under more fire than ever before. I am amazed when I talk to many of my friends they think this country is simply going through another cycle and everything will be okay. Honestly, I was one of those people just a few short years ago. May I ask, who saw this coming? What do you see happening? If history repeats itself we are in very big trouble.
  3. At the passing of the Apple Founder, it's just another "Job" lost...
  4. BTW, my go to is the M16 (3 spare mags) and XD9 as my sidearm. I have an entire family ready to go that knows how to defend/shoot ...
  5. Just something to think about and don't need to answer. Who are your "go to" groups? Do you have food, a plan, meet up place and 20-25 gallons of fuel to get you 200 miles or so. Route plan if bridges are closed, neighbors you can trust, medicine, etc. Guns can only get you so far and are necessary, but a good plan is equally important.
  6. Thanks... NJ is 15 round limit, correct? Also, some of these mags mention 20 round with a 10 round permanent block, is that ok?
  7. Where is a good site to get magazines for an M16 (Bushmaster) and Savage 30-06?
  8. Crazy right wing wacko....that's all you have? BTW, I keep my firearms and ammo locked in HEAVY duty double locked steel safes/containers. The main reason I do this? Theft... I spent a lot of money for ammo and firearms and I want to protect them best as possible. Also , I have a "quick open" safe for the handgun in a few spots around the house in case I need them quickly. Also, I have 12,16 and 20 year old children that I need to be mindful of. They have the utmost respect for firearms, but hey, they're still kids.
  9. My house is for sale in NJ and I am looking in Yardley/Newtown area... House swap?
  10. It is very simple and they are turning them around in 2-3 weeks....they are friendly and eager to help. We went to the OBX in July and I carried the entire time I was there....it felt SOOOOO good. In Walmart, stores, beach, etc. At first I felt like I was doing something wrong, then it just felt right after a few days. I miss carrying....I felt like I was walking around with a "back up" plan. Comforting to know if something went completely wrong, you have an out. I guess I'll have to go into PA for a few days...
  11. Congressional support is growing for a bill that would force all states to honor concealed carry permits issued in any other state, allowing citizens to take their firearms across state lines. If passed, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011 would be a huge win for Second Amendment advocates, giving a gut punch to many state and municipal gun control efforts. Originally introduced this past February by Rep. Cliff Stearns (R- FL) and Heath Shuler (D-NC), The Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act now has 241 co-sponsors in the House, making its passage there likely. A companion bill is soon to be launched in the Senate, and if it gets enough Democrat support to avoid a filibuster, it would probably pass there too. The bill, H.R. 822, essentially says: If Florida awards you a concealed carry permit, every other state has to honor it, with narrow exceptions. This will greatly lessen “may issue” politics and bureaucratic obstructionism across the country when it comes to gun rights. For those who live in notoriously anti-gun areas like New York City, it appears one would still need a permit from your home state to concealed carry within that state if the bill passes. Individual states will still be allowed to regulate concealed carry permits for their residents. For example, If you live in New York, things could remain complicated. You would need a New York permit to carry concealed in the Empire State. If you received an out-of-state permit from Florida, that permit would allow you to carry any other state in the country, except your home state (New York), Chicago, and D.C., which do not allow for concealed carry under any circumstances. National Carry?
  12. My house has been on the market for 4 months...had one very low offer with many "subject to" phrases. We live in a very desirable area where up to 2 years ago there would be bidding "wars" to buy these homes. Now there is nothing... dead!
  13. I have to agree with that statement. We have become a society where "right is wrong and wrong is right". Innocent people are treated like criminals...Look at all the silly gun laws for instance... who do they actually protect? Honest citizens? Media has brain washed people that there is a gray area... neither right nor wrong, an area of what "feels good". That is dangerous because now there is no clear boundary. "Feel good" outcomes are rarely rational and almost always put the innocent in danger and rob us of our freedoms.
  14. True... at least they have a very good chance to legitimately defend themselves. They chose not to....In NJ we have no chance to LEGALLY defend ourselves. Otherwise if we did, we would be put in jail before the criminal.
  15. The FBI’s Nevada office has confirmed that seven people were shot inside of a Carson City, Nevada, IHOP. Currently, authorities believe that there was only one shooter involved in the incident. The Record Courier has more: [seven] people have been shot by a suspect reportedly carrying a semi-automatic weapon at the Carson City International House of Pancakes. Details of the situation are still developing, but the suspect has been reported as “down”. The shooting happened just before 9 a.m. At least four helicopters have been called to the scene. Medical and law enforcement personnel are still evaluating the scene. Below, watch raw footage from the scene of the crime (courtesy of RGJ.com): KTVN.com is reporting that the shooter may be “down.” The Associated Press has more details: [sheriff Kenny Furlong] says multiple people were wounded, including the shooter. He says the person who authorities believe to be the shooter has been transported to a hospital “and is probably going to die.” Local and state police and FBI agents have descended on the scene on South Carson Street, also called U.S. 395, the main street in the state capital. Yellow tape surrounded the parking lot near a Kohl’s department store in a shopping complex across the street from a casino and hotel. [...] Witnesses said a man pulled up outside the IHOP in a blue minivan. He had a rifle and shot a man on a motorcycle, then walked inside the restaurant and started shooting, said Ralph Swagler, owner of Locals Barbecue in the same strip mall as the IHOP. Swagler told the Reno Journal-Gazette that after several minutes, the man walked outside and began firing into the Locals Barbecue and an H&R Block in the strip mall. “This happens in third-world countries, not here,” Swagler said.
  16. Exactly... especially when the "committee" is a "mix" of firearms owners and state legislatures. Usually means.... "they stacked the deck" but made it sound good. They do this in our local school system and all it is, is "posturing". When the government (no clue) creates (bad idea) another government (over seen) committee... you're asking for trouble.
  17. I can store it for you if that would make you feel better...
  18. Sent the message and email a bunch of friends to do the same. However, emailing Lautenberg and Menendez are like emailing Castro and asking him to please accept Jesus as his savior and let the Cubans live free. Oh well, have to keep pestering them....send the link to all your friends and urge them to contact Senators. Also, post the link on other web sites (forums)
  19. "Racial profiling" was a way for the media to get its ratings up. I was pulled over several times for "looking suspicious". I had long hair, a 4x4 truck with a roll bar and lights on the top. We had a LEO say "Your long haired friend looking out the back window seemed suspicious to me..." At the time we were not doing anything wrong and were too stupid to understand "our rights". My grandfather and two uncles were Philadelphia cops. I never asked if they profiled, but it seems like the crime was pretty obvious before they started asking questions. I think the attitude at hand is tacoguy believes he has the right and we don't... kind of "above us" mentality.... "I know what is right and wrong and you don't, so sit down and shut up"? If I am wrong I apologize, but that is the way I am taking it.
  20. Please tell me how this would make you feel. As a concerned dad, I see you acting very suspicious around my children. I approach you and ask for your ID, credentials, where you live and for you to explain what you are doing. Also, I ask you to convince me of your innocence. You explain your side but I dig deeper and tell you to stay while I contact the police, a lawyer and judge. How do you feel about this? Does this make you feel like you are being treated as a person that is free? A person that has certain unalienable rights?
  21. In an honest system and honest society there is no problem. However, not to bash you, but there are LEO's that have the "above the law mentality" and that is very dangerous. I am sure you come across a lot of creeps, but I bet you that is 1 out of every 100. So why do the other 99 innocent people once again pay for the 1 creep? Let me ask you this... if I were walking down the street with my wife would it be acceptable to search me? How about if I was having a beer on the back porch and a cop drove by and saw me. Would it be acceptable for him to search my house? No... it would not. So why is it "acceptable" to simply ask if you can search someone's car? That is my personal property as well... would it be right for me to prove you are a cop and ask for written credentials, forms and proof that you are a law abiding officer? Why should I assume (you expect) you are innocent but "okay" for you assume I am guilty?
  22. No disrespect, but twice I was pulled over as a teenager (1988 and 1989) and searched for no other reason than "you looked suspicious". The first time we were pulled over they searched our car... no reason, just pulled over and did a search. Second time we were speeding (70 in a 55) and they started asking if we had drugs/beer and we said no. These two LEO's were so arrogant they started searching without even asking. My friend said "you can't just search our car" said that twice. The LEO told us if we knew what was good for us we should tell our friend to "shut up". As an honest teen and strict parents I told my friend to please stop. Later I realized that my friend was right and I would NEVER be treated like a criminal again! No one has a right to go through my stuff and I know first hand that law makers and law "holders" abuse their power... That is "flat out" WRONG. May as well live in Russia or Cuba because they do the same thing. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? Seems like our society has it backwards now. I am polite, I will admit when I am wrong but I am fed up with being honest, paying my taxes, following the laws then being treated like a criminal. Most honest citizens , I am sure, feel the same way.
  23. I have an SUV with no trunk but there is a storage area. If I lock the car doors is that "technically' in a locked trunk? I have transported rifles in a soft case... does that need to be locked? These NJ rules/laws are so vague it leaves a lot a wiggle room for the law and little for the citizen.
