  1. How much does it cost for me to go for an afternoon with my son. Do we both pay or just one person pays?
  2. I have never had a problem with them. They are the only indoor range that allows "high powered rifles" in my area so I really don't have much of a choice. As far as arrogance goes... Nick is a real good guy. I have shopped prices around and tell him. He'll usually match it or say he can't. I go with my dad and have hung out there for hours at times with nothing but good shooting and good conversation. Aside from the high cost to join they are no different than other indoor ranges I have been to. I think $999 for a brand new Bushmaster "AR15" ain't out of line at all. However, some of their handgun prices are about $100 higher than others. I usually shop around anyway but over all find them pleasant to work with... I want to try "Circle Square" as it seems nice. However, I think you need two member references and only can sign up twice a year? Is that correct? Seems like a nice place though.
  3. They are literally 20 minutes from my home so I may jump on that. However, the pistol range is down and who knows what will happen in the future .... will the "anti-gun" area shut them down again? I heard someone "found" a bullet on the roof... sounds like someone wants this range shut down. Anyone hear anything different?
  4. price is good but they are only opened on weekends, outdoors and the occasional Wednesday in the summer. But yeah, $60 a year plus one time $50 due is very reasonable.
  5. How was their 9mm stock? -Scott Take a nice trip to PA and stop at a few Walmarts. All had plenty of Blazer Brass or Federal Brass for $9.49 per box...no FID card needed as well.
  6. Did that sale end? I was in there Friday and picked up another 100 rounds and I think he said the sale was through 10/24?
  7. I travel a bit into chemical plants and had and instance where I was inventorying a plant and I asked if I could take photos and he said "yes, but you can not use your flash". I asked but he just said "because we do not allow it". Anyway, as I was taking pictures I hit a button that triggered the flash...next think I know this guy is on the floor covering his head. I'm thinking to myself WTH. He says "are you crazy"? I apologized and told him I hit the wrong button that triggered the flash. He then went on to explain that their fire suppressant system is triggered by by a flash because it mimics an explosion. Luckily it did not go off. Wonder if they have a similar system or simply don't want people posting photos of members firing guns on the internet.
  8. You haven't checked South Jersey range prices recently yourself, have you? The Fort Dix outdoor membership for the whole family is only $100 and single for $60. Every single place in south jersey is cheaper to shoot than that place...Actually, I think they may just be the most expensive range in all of NJ. Also, their prices are a lot more than just $15 a box of 50...I shot there two months ago, and even with 20% off, all of their 50 boxes were still over $20 each. There is really nothing good about that range. It was also HOT AS HELL in that range over the summer. AC must have been broken or something. Everyone else who is in the area that doesn't have a membership at Hague's yet...JUST STAY AWAY!!! Wow....chill out. First off, Fort Dix is about an hour from my house and can only go on Saturdays....I'll pay the fee. Second, I wanted to join Delran Jr. Marksmen but they are closed because a neighbor found a bullet on the roof...BS! That stinks because they are a great bunch of people. Telco, S.Jersey Sportsman, another range in Winslow are all about $300-$400 per year or more for a family and they are outdoors. I am 12 minutes from Hauges and would be able to go 3 nights a week if I wanted. 9MM ammo is indeed $15 per box with the discount. Their ventilation is good. However, you are correct with their heating and cooling systems....cold in winter and warm in summer. Now lets do the math. I join Hauges for $350 and bring my own ammo. I can bring a family member and shoot as much as I want. Ok, now you join your club for $180. Lets assume you go once a week or even 5 times a month...which is not out of the question. There is a fee you're forgetting about and that is the $4 bridge toll every time....which will be raised to $5 very soon. That is an extra $240-$300 per year that you're giving to this great government of ours!!! Add the $180 to the $240-$300 in tolls and it is $120-$180 more per year. Also, the extra gas for most people would add to the cost. Now I am a firm believer in "to each his own" and the free market and right to choose. Let the people decide what is best for them. I looked at the club you mentioned and it looks nice...just wish it were closer as I would join in a second!! Cheers...
  9. My Dad has a membership there and I think Nick, Kathy(?) and Joe (no longer there full time) are great. We got some really good deals on some used handguns and they have ALWAYS treated us fair. They never bother us when we go in the range.... actually, if they are a bit slow they'll come in and ask if we have any questions regarding shooting techniques, etc. Now, the $350 membership is expensive....However, these people that say "wow, that ain't cheap you're getting ripped off"... I do not think they have checked range prices recently. All outdoor ranges in SJ are $300-$400 for a family membership, which I would need. Also, Hagues is the only indoor range that I know of (in my area) that you can use high powered rifles, shotguns and handguns. Also, the outdoor ranges are sun up to sun down....forget that!!! I work during the day and some nights I want to blow off some rounds. The only thing I could think of, is some people have commented how they "carry" in the store and act "arrogant". I honestly don't see it. They have a good sense of humor, know their stuff and treat Noobs with respect instead of looking down on them. 20% off handgun ammo works OK as far as range prices go...$15 for a box of 9MM 147 or 124 Gr American Eagle. ...Maybe I'll see you there on the week nights.
  10. Picked up a used Bushmaster for $799 .223/5.56....I guess it would be considered an M-16 with 20" barrel....I yet to shoot it but looking forward to bringing to the range next week. Also, my wife fell in love a Colt 2.5" 5 shot .38 only. I am trying to convince her to get the .357/.38 or the 9MM for a little more but she loves the feel of that gun and it's $190 used.
  11. I called the places that you all mentioned. Thanks....Looks like I found an AR for $900 5.56/.223 and a 9MM (3") used for about $295 so I will be checking them out tomorrow. The reason I wanted a .45 ACP was mainly to have a different caliber and for other obvious reasons. Yup, I do suck at shooting...well maybe to more seasoned shooter's standards, but I love it! I had limited accessibility to guns growing up and bought my first gun less than a year ago. I have not looked back since....so thank you all for your patience and input as I am still a noob! I did not learn to fly, golf, build computers or play baseball over night....so I guess this is one of those things that will take time to learn, ask lots of questions and rely on people like you all to guide me.
  12. What is the price? Number of rounds run through? Age? Condition? What's included? I guess you can PM me this information if that is ok? Also, your location, etc.
  13. Why not take a day trip to PA and get Federal 9MM brass, Blazer brass and WW all for $9.47 for a 50 pack? I did that last week.... I was visiting a friend and stopped at two Walmarts and they both had ammo. I have plenty for now, but any chance I go there I get it!! Oh, And no logging your purchasing BS either!!!!
  14. Nah...I love both my 9MM's and would never give them up. Also, I have SO much 9MM ammo and the going price is about 1/2 for the ammo that I'll keep them both. Maybe I will get the HG now before the permit expires. The more I think about it, I may just get a 3" 9MM for Florida CCW....the other 9MM I have now are both 5" barrels. (92FS and XD9 tactical) a bit bulky for carry. However, I'd really LOVE a good AR!! Decisions, decisions!!
  15. Wait, the "truck stop" sells AR's? or it's next store to a gun dealer?
  16. Put out a price request to the vendors here they ahve the best prices But what does a .45 have to do with an AR? get em both! you will be well rounded then and not have to rely on those cap guns you currently have My wife has a Permit for two handguns that expire in about a month. I had my heart set on a .45 ACP however, I was at the local gun shop and noticed an AR-15 by Bushmaster. Then I got to thinking I have (2)-9MM, a .22LR, shot gun and a 30-06. I really want something else that will complete the "cycle" of sidearm/rifle all in one handy package and thought this was the perfect fit. Now like someone has mentioned, I ain't made of money and have one child in college and two in private school. My wife and I agreed it's one or the other. One other concern is, what if these liberal nut cakes decide to make AR's illegal...then what? Any thoughts on preference? I am also considering a Beretta .45 Carbine....
  17. Anyone know...I have (2)-9MM handguns and was going to get a .45 ACP, but would rather get the AR-15 instead. Anyone know where to go for the best price and if they possibly have them used...
  18. I met a buddy over in PA for golfing. I was running a bit early so I stopped in a Walmart....Full ammo shelves: 9MM, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .223 Value packs, etc. Stopped at another Walmart...9MM (WW), .40,.45,.223....but not as stocked as the other Walmart. These were out near King Of Prussia. 9MM now $9.47 per box of 50 or $20.97 for WW.
  19. Ah you mean how they escort you and your new found ammo up front after they fill out that "High Technology" black book so the state can find out who is purchasing? The last time I bought ammo that was logged was a brick of .22's and I wasn't comfortable about that. BTW, what do they do with those log books? I could not read what the guy wrote in there. Do they even get collected? No thanks, I'll go to PA or MD and pay cash, thank you!
  20. .45 ACP pack of 100 or 50 for $28? That was for a 100 WWB. I was thinking of buying them even though I do not have a .45 ACP. Someday I will...maybe!
  21. I am seeing ammo again in all shapes, sizes, brands and caliber!! However, prices are still quite stiff. I was at Walley World in MD on Sunday and picked up 2-100 pack of the WWB for $21 per 100. However they had .45 ACP for $28, .40 S&W for $26, .223, .22LR, even .380 by the CASE and so much more. Also, Dick's in NJ is charging $18 for for the Wolf Steel cased junk. Ammo is out there again, but shop around for the good deals.
  22. 12 gauge 9 MM 30-06 .22LR I have plenty, but I need more 30-06 and 00 Buck....that stuff is expensive! Remember to stock up on canned goods as well....never a bad idea because you can always use it! I have about 4 months supplied right now and will make another run because I would like at least 6 months in reserve....then you need ammo to protect it or barter. Hey, better to be a prepared "nut case" instead of a starving "sane" person! Nothing wrong with being prepared...
  23. Hagues shooting range had at least 50-100 boxes of .380 last week. i think they are in Paulsboro,NJ.
