  1. We usually go down to Wharton State Park, I have stopped taking My Ram2500 because the tires are shot, but we are going to be setting up a Sunday to go in a few weeks if you're interested. If no one with a big truck goes, I will take the Ram and play tow-truck 8-)
  2. I have one on my property just like that! I couldnt believe it when I first saw it this year, but I heard they can hurt the group as a bunch if they are allowed to live.
  3. Chad, thanks for posting that up, it puts it in perspective that things happen even where you dont expect it. Its funny you say this, because yesterday I had a guy drive up to my house early evening selling stuff from the back of a Ford Ranger, now I live in a farm area...my house is 900 feet off the road, so I knew this guy was coming for a while. I was down working on my car with a buddy of mine when the truck came up (I have a detached garage) the guy saw me and continued up towards the door and no one was home. I yelled for the guy and he came down my way, and was greeted by my Pit/Boxer mix who was barking from the fence (this dog only barks the way he was barking when something isn't right) As he was walking towards me I told my buddy that my shotgun was on the work bench, I had just gotten done cleaning it, and there was a box of shells in the gun bag if we needed it. The guy seemed shady, asked me if the house was mine before he asked if i wanted to buy anything, I told the guy I did not want to buy anything, and that he may want to think about getting back in his truck before the dog broke the fence down. He complied, but it was just weird how he would come ALL the way up to my house, you don't see the house from the road with the leaves on the tree, and you would miss the driveway if you didn't know it was there. The Mossberg has been loaded and in my closet ever since, and the Mauser ready with a few stripper clips near by. I really hope it was all innocent and the guy just got lucky and found my driveway.
  4. Sounds like we need to get a cruise night together for NJGF!
  5. Doc Walt where are you from? Sounds like you are local to me. I live in North Hanover / Wrightstown
  6. Its still holding, and I have probably shot ~100 rounds since it was fixed. Only problem is, I think I messed up and took a little too much off when filing, and it fell out on me once. That trip to Sarco is still planned, but not until I find a job and get some solid income again.
  7. Great tribute video. Thank you for posting this.
  8. Well, the Mauser is *temporarily* fixed. A good friend of mine owns a welding shop, and he actually worked his magic and got the band spring back together for now, but I will still be heading to Sarco soon to buy a new one. He did a great job, I did some fine touches with the file, but its holding for the mean time. Atleast I can get to the range this week. Thanks for all your help again! Jon
  9. Hmm we may have to find a cruise night between the two of us! I am from North Hanover Twp (basically 15 mins SE of Trenton) ~two hours from you guys. I am most definitely in for taking a trip to Sarco if you guys are heading there. I am relatively new to firearms, so I am trying to sponge up as much information as I can. Would you guys mind someone tagging along if you guys go?
  10. UPDATE: I went to the gunshow at the philly expo center today, and spoke with a guy who is going to be re-making these springs in the very near future. He was very knowledgeable about Mausers and I will most likely be contacting for other items later on. I also checked (just need to call and make sure on monday) that Sarco has these springs, I will have to make a trip in the next week. Ive never been there, from what I have read it must be one heck of a place. Jon
  11. Thanks for the help, I will be ordering a few very soon. So many variants but I will just go with the one for the early k98.
  12. While shooting today, I noticed this piece broke. I believe it would be called the front band spring? I looked online, and found a few places that sell them, I just want to make sure I am going to order the correct thing. Is this common place or just wear over time? Thanks for the help! Item is circled.
  13. The date on it is 1937, however alot of the other information has been removed. I would really like to find someone who knows a bit more about these rifles to help me see what I can find out about it. It still has the Nazi symbol and eagle engraved on a very tiny spot on the stock. I started doing some research, but unfortunately life has gotten hectic and I have put that on the side.
  14. Being as I just woke up 20 minutes ago, I am going to go grab some .22 ammo since I shot ~300 round the other night, and then head to the range. I am probably going to bring a buddy of mine and get him to bring his trap gun so we can use that. You guys probably already went though.
  15. Once again, Ill try to make it. I was about to head out right after work today, but forgot I had dinner plans.
  16. Pending weather I may be there. Dont have a shotgun for clays, but just look for the big red Ram 2500 and Ill be on the rifle range. Jon
  17. Picked up a Mossberg 500 Cruiser from them today at a GREAT deal. Even bought it off your buddy...before I saw this.
  18. I may be in for this. I spent my money I was saving to go there, on a Mossy 500 today...but Im still interested in going. Pending work. Mak I am right out by Ft. Dix, I live a mile from 537, or can meet 206/Rt130 if need be.
  19. My dad, and a few of my buddies, and really anyone who is knowledgeable and safe to shoot with.
  20. I spent most of my summers growing up in Maine. I love it there. Plan on eventually going back and living there. I went to the cabelas last summer there, and had a great time. I was glad I was out of work then, otherwise I would have come home broke! Have a great time!
  21. Its great isnt it? I worked my ass off to graduate with a bachelors, and the job market tanks, now Im doing security. Ive been promoted to a supervisor, but still, it sucks. I know there are alot of people out there much worse off than I am, so I really cant complain.
  22. Have not had it to the track yet, but I will hopefully have some times this fall. 1964 Chevelle SS Convertible. 327/4speed. Makes ballpark a little over 400 horses. I do some off-roading, my daily driver is a 97 Ram 2500 5.9 Gas motor. 177,000 original miles so its been sitting the bench lately with the off roading. I picked up a 88 Dodge RamCharger a few months ago, that I am in the middle of building an engine for it. 55k original miles on it, but the motor makes noise, so its getting a mild 360. Ive also got a 63 Chevy II Nova that someday when money allows, I will be racing it down at atco a bit. Also a 63 Dodge D100 Panel truck. Its already been fitted with a 440/4speed however, like anything else...money wont let that be done for a while either.
  23. Ft. Dix. Its less than 5 minutes from my house.
