  1. Here's the link. The one for sale is indeed a sporter II but that sure looks like a bayonet lug and a flash hider to me. But I was told that the Sporter I that I got rid of was illegal because it was stamped, Colt AR-15 cal .223 .Damn I really liked that Colt too. http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.a ... =143986764
  2. I narrowed my search on gunbroker to just sales from New Jersey and was surprised to see a few weapons that are on the banned list. i.e. COLT ar-15's. So it begs the question how can you sell a weapon that is illegal to possess. Are FFL holders exempt from the constrictions on possession of such weapons? Ok, I know that's 2 questions.
  3. Wow Tiny, I am humbled by your generosity! However, as painful as it may be for me to keep it, I must decide whether to sell it or make a cigarette lighter out of it. But I do appreciate your offer. Pretty much -I don't see me making any profit on it as sinking another $300 would still only get me to the break even point. Right now I have 6 into it, add another 3 for plating, and then sell it for the going rate of MAYBE $800, and I won't this beauty, and still lost a hundred bucks. (tongue planted firmly in cheek). The pre-alpha serial number might help the price, and it is smoohter than my other Pythons. The balance is great. Lock up is tight. It's just those friggin wear marks are drivin me nuts.
  4. His charges have been upgraded. As well as his bail due to a stolen rifle and the ever popular hollow point bullets. ?John Brek, the Newark Airport security guard accused of making threats against President Obama, who was visiting the area yesterday, has pleaded not guilty to the charge, and to charges of possession of illegal hollow-point bullets and a stolen rifle. He's held on $200,000 bail, doubled from the original $100 grand by the judge at his arraignment. A witness alleged that Brek said over coffee that he had cut a hole in an airport fence so he could shoot Obama
  5. That stainless one is NICE! They don't show it on there web site. Now stainless BCG, upper and maybe anodized barrel....
  6. If no paparwork is necessary to be filed with the State, then why do I have to download a COE?
  7. Hey, here is a fellow member selling a wonderful AR gun with ammo for $750 what a deal! viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2429
  8. rscalzo is correct. WW SXT and Black Talon is the same round only repackaged so as not to be so scarey. I disagree with one thing though, the "X" series of cartidges are better than most all other hollow points. They can do alot of damage. You wouldn't want to accidently discharge your weapon upon reholstering it with one of those rounds in the pipe.
  9. tb, you are correct! If I hadn't lied and told my old boss that I needed the paperwork because i inherited an old shotgun from my grand father, she NEVER would have signed the papers. Not to mention the power trip she was on every day. The paperwork would have been the ultimate power.
  10. With the last police chief we had, they sent a letter to my boss. The boss was from Paterson, so you know she was anti gun and because she wasn't expecting anything + it was a huge company, at first she didnt get the letter, and when she did she almost threw it out figuring it was a ad from the PBA. The next obstacle was the drill. Why do you want a gun? What are you going to do with it? Why should I send this back? blah blah blah and if she didn't send it back, wha-la no pistol permit. the bottom line is, if they don't get all the paperwork back, you aren't getting your permit. Thank God he has moved on and a voice of reason has taken his place. Oh yeah, they also had a paper on which you had to list every job you ever had, every place you ever lived and if you forgot one, and the detective found it blam. no permit. they took it that you lied on your permit app.
  11. I just picked up a 1969 4" Python in nickle. I was so excited I didn't even notice the plating had worn off on the right side. It's gone about a quarter inch wide on the barrel, and cylinder. I guess it was a working LEO's gun. So while it is going to be a shooter, if i replate it,would I get my cost of replating back when I sell it? As it is, it's only going to be worth what I paid for it today. Also, does a collector want the "soul" it has now or want to see the bling?
  12. Hopefully, the answer lies beyond the obvious (that we live in New Jersey). Why is the Ruger mini 30 legal and the M-1 carbine is on the banned list?
  13. I was just wondering if any company made an AR-!% lower in stainless steel? I think might be a right nice looking gun. A stainless upper and lower with black furniture. What do ya think?
  14. Is that a vintage Jazzmaster?
  15. In my town, I have to wait until the last day also, but the new wrinkle is that previously if you wanted another permit while under the 90 day limit, they just charged you the $2 for the extra permit. NOW I have to pay the State Police fee again of $18, even though Im under the 90 days from the original background check.
  16. They are a great bunch there at Meltzer's. They have a good selection, and although not the cheapest, (and I don't know who is) at least they don't treat you like an escaped felon-a la Ramsey's - because you want to purchase a hand gun.
  17. For those who care to see the video and are having trouble opening the link, the video is on youtube.com with a copyright in the upper left hand corner but otherwise the same. The song is "I can't cry hard enough" sung by Victoria Williams. Please take a moment to reflect on those brave and innocent people who were slaughtered on that day. I know I can't cry hard enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBcIhmc28nU NEVER FORGET AND MOST OF ALL NEVER FORGIVE!
  18. I used to have a M-1 carbine that I sold right before the ban took effect. I guy I sold it to retired and now lives in Pa. I just thought curious about the mag thing. If you had one, it would be lke fly paper. You just can't get rid of it no matter what you do.
  19. Thank you for allowing it. You are correct, there are 2,752 reasons not to delete it.
  20. Webmaster, feel free to delete this post if you deem it inappropriate for this forum. With the advent of the anniversary coming up, I would like to submit a most moving tribute to those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center tragedy. http://www.mousetrax.com/pub/tribute.swf
  21. I have 2 hypothetical questions. If you possessed a weapon before NJ outlawed ownership of said weapon, can you sell it to or through a FFL dealer? And part two, if it is illegal to possess a high capacity magazine, you can
  22. If you had a serial number and you report something stolen, it's been stolen. Otherwise you'd be filing a false report and that would land you in big trouble. I suppose you could see a gun you liked, file a police report purporting it to be stolen, but if you can't prove you possessed it before it was stolen, you are back to square one. The burden of proof lies with the accuser. Or am I getting lost? :?
  23. I believe that is why you see .45's with "US government property" and yet you own it. Nothing is stolen until it is reported stolen, is what I understand.
  24. Post after post, I have seen members leave off the last few digits of a serial number on a picture or story. Why is that? I must be niave but what harm can posting the serial number of a weapon possible do?
  25. Is that a shotgun in your pocket or are you just glad to see me.
