  1. Happy Birthday , brothers. A/1/9 54/57 75 now and can still make out the front sight (almost) Semper Fi
  2. Hi, Can't speak for the other 1911's but have had my stainless Springfield loaded 45 for about 4 years. It eats anything including my assorted reloads and has been 100% reliable. Great handgun and feels great in the hand.
  3. Thanks for the input. Glad to see someone else had the same problem. Hope to get to the range on Sunday and get this loosened up. All the best. Kenny
  4. Just picked up a new Buckmark Pro Target to try my hand at 25 yard Bullseye shooting. Being an old wheel-gunner (cept' for the required Springfield 1911) I have a question on the Buckmark. Owners manual does NOT state you aren't supposed to dry fire and the dealer said it was not a problem on these newer rimfires. Is that correct???? Bought a pack of dry fire caps anyway. Secondly. Noted that when I did a dry fire, it took an act of congress to try and pull the slide back. I'm 75 but not THAT weak, yet. This happened each time. Dry fired without the cap and same thing. This only happens when you pull the trigger. Other than that the slide works just fine. Just got the gun today and don't want to shoot it until I know if there is a problem. I did clean the gun and lightly oil the slide. Any thoughts? Is this normal for this gun? Many thanks.
  5. Being retired , I NEVER go anyplace on a weekend. Have always enjoyed shooting at Sunset Hills. My only gripe is that they now have prohibited reloads. Don't know if this is for insurance purposes or they just want to sell more of their own ammo, but as a reloader it sure defeats my cost savings.
  6. Semper Fi back at ya. It was my younger brothers who earned The Walking Dead title. Was in A/1/9 but it was back in 54-57. Kenny
  7. Found this site when looking for latest info re shipping ammo to The Peoples Republic. Was into shooting many years ago. then slacked off and have been back into it since I retired about ten years ago. To save bucks learned how to reload my own ammo. Repetitive but enjoyable and relaxing. Current inventory: S&W Model 19-3, Cimmaron 1851 Navy Colt R-M conversion to 38 Spcl., Uberti Cattleman Colt 45, Ruger Single Six, Springfield Armory Loaded 1911 A1, Winchester Model 94 AE Trapper in .357, Henry pump 22 and a Remington 870 Express 12 ga.. Haven't been shooting as much since Rays went out of business. Planning to give the Bullet Hole a try. This looks to be a good informative and friendly site. First time joining a forum but I'll figure it out. Old guys are sneaky... Kenny
