For the record, I was really sure of this but without being able to find the statute, I hesitate to say its the law. My understanding of it was just as you carry your FID for long guns, you had to carry your PP for your handguns. I do not carry my originals, I carry a copy. Keep in mind this is NJ and the burdan of proof is always on the citizen to prove legal exception to posession. Much easier to do with the officer if you have permit in hand instead of having it confiscted and having to prove it to the judge later.

Caine, this is where I see a big problem in the law. Its ok to bring to state no reg required so says the state police div of firearms. But how do you transport legally to the range? Thats the question. You know I was rather sure of this and could swear it says it somewhere on the permit but I cant find it anywhere........

jOn, Id find another detective to talk too. He seems to really lack firearms law knowledge. FID card dont mean anything for a pistol. Your supposed to carry your actual purchase permit in transport. I carry a copy of all my purchase permits in my range bag. That way no matter which pistol I grab, I have the purchase permit with me during transport.

Good scope for .308 Zombie/shtf rifle

The one I am REALLY waiting for is the March Tactical 1X10!!!! -
I may be wrong but its my understanding that the only time he can "lend" you the handgun is in person and in attendance. In other words if the two of you are at the range and he hands it over to you to shoot, thats ok. From what I understand, what you are describing is not and actually would constitute an illegal transfer.

Both S&B and PH are releasing 1x8 scopes. If you can live with 1.5 or 1.8 USO has scopes to fill the bill. The JNG ret from USO is pretty nice. -

WAY to much magnification for zombie hunting. Think 1X4 or 1.5X6. -
Im going to the team with the most ammo. I dont care about any other supplies. All other supplies will be eventually obtained by the team with the most ammo!!!

South Jersey IDPA's first shoot of the new year.
Shane45 replied to MedicYeti's topic in Competitive & Fun Shoot Discussion
I did go I think it was the perfect venue to get introduced to IDPA. Everyone was very friendly and patient. The match seemed centered around blowing the winter dust off/new shooters in its orientation so it was perfect for me. I almost didnt go. I didnt get back from PA until late last night so I literally showed up at the match with ammo I had no idead how close to point of aim it was, tags still hanging from my brand spanking new holsters, belts etc etc. I didnt even get any kind of dry fire practice. My pistol hadnt been cleaned in 1000 rounds so I literally pulled the barrel off, ran a brush through it MAYBE 3 times. Wiped the slide down, shot some oil all over the place and ran out the door! Thats me on the left in the 1st pic. Suprised the camera worked after that! http://www.sjidpa.com/index.php?option= ... 4&Itemid=7 -

Thats the way it works in my house! Always the justification. New scope, no gun, new gun. New gun no scope new scope Kidding aside, I meant as opposed to a complete 1 piece mount that was referenced above. http://www.dnzproducts.com/index.php?ma ... pu36an2g47

Toss the stock anyway and bed that bad boy in a McMillan A5!

I would go with the variable optic. Hitting the target isnt the issue. Target id is. Last time I tried(when I was shooting a lot more ) I could hit a 12X12 plate at 300yds with my ar 8 out of 10 with irons. What I could not do is tell you if it was a good plate or a bad plate . If 300 sounds like a lot to you, pace off a Wallmart from front to back line of sight next time your there and invision all the scenarios in SHTF that you could end up needing to make that kind of shot. Between Aimpoint and Eotech I would definately go Aimpoint. Battery life alone would be an overwelming factor to go aimpoint. I have an Eotech 557 sitting on my desk right now to play with. Damn that ret is BIG. I like more precise aiming points even in CQB. Going to pop the Eo on the Kriss and see what thats like. My Humble opinion. Subgun like the Kriss/P90/HK7 Aimpoint Micro Carbines for CQB Micro or M3/M4 Dual Role either TA33/TA11 Acog or 1x4 or possibly 1.5X6

How about a first timer at the first shoot If my belt is in in time I will seriously consider it. Wanted to get some practice in before my first match but WTH nothing like jumping in the deep end
