  1. You can go to a dive store (scuba) and buy soft weights. They are filled with lead shot. Might be more expensive then bulk, but you can get it in various weights. Jimmy
  2. Make sure you eat breakfast so you don't get that starving feeling and eat slowly. People are full before they realize it. I also keep a box of granola bars and water in the car. When I'm driving home I have one if hungry and drink the water, this way you aren't gorging yourself at diner. But the main thing is to burn off more then you take in. Find something you like to do, walk, bike, run, skate. If you are near a beach walking in sand is a great workout and the sights can occupy the mind. Jimmy
  3. I believe one of the kids sent home is half Mexican. I don't find anything wrong with stirring the pot. If no one did that here we wouldn't have any rights left for fear of being politically correct. We are Americans, and should be able to wear what we want when we want. I can wear a Met's jersey to Philly, or would that also be stirring the pot and I would deserve to have something escalate? Just my 2cents, Jimmy
  4. At 50 yards irons are no problem as I can still see the target, it's when I get to 100+. See the thread on age, LOL. At past 100 yards I'm able to hit the target because I remember where I put it . I don't have good target confirmation as I am only shooting small pieces of paper, not full sized silhouettes. I just want one optic that can do it all, that is affordable, LOL. Not too much to ask is it? Jimmy
  5. I have a Springfield parkerized GI model for over 20 years, only had one problem with a pin breaking. It shoots everything I feed it without issues. As Lunker stated the sights are not great (non adjustable, small), but they get the job done. Jimmy
  6. ELCan looks great, but I nearly spit out my coffee when I saw the price  . I thought the ACOG was expensive. Damn, need to hit the lottery or something. Jimmy
  7. Thanks Shane I appreciate the input. I guess I was hoping for a one size fits all. Too bad I can't have one of each Jimmy
  8. Okay I know there is a large difference between them, but if anyone has experience with them I would appreciate any input. I was at the range today with my standard AR. It has an "F" front site and Trot flip rear. This was my second time shooting it and was a good learning experience. I was able to dial in and consistently hit a 4" circle off hand at 50 yards, twice that at 100, and on paper 18X18 at 200 meters. I already have an SPR type AR with a Leupold 6X18 for 300 yds plus that I am very comfortable with, but I am looking for something that will be best for 25 to 250 yds or so. I like the easy part of the Eotech and can possibly add a magnifier, but wondering if the Trigicon would suit that better. I have never used a red dot site so I am wondering if it worth it? Any suggestions would be appreciated from those with experience with any of the above mentioned. Thanks, Jimmy
  9. Hey tj, me too, April 18th. Ahh the good old days. Now I live vicariously through my 3 sons. Jimmy April 18th was my Day too? small world. Aries...yeah Man! So Liberty I take it that your very thick headed and always right? At least thats what my wife tells me. Jimmy
  10. Yes it was. Hey Chris I was at CJR&P and it couldn't have been any nicer. Just enough of a breeze. We need to meet up sometime since we are bot in AH. Jimmy

  12. You have to do this everyday, even if you are pissed for some reason. I know too many people who wish the did. Thank God your wife and kid are okay. Jimmy
  13. Thanks for sharing this. I have been reading it for the last hour and am wondering how to survive. Mine and my wife's idea of canning is going to Costco. Don't think I can stomach sour milk biscuits tho. Thanks, Jimmy
  14. We all know how well the gun laws are written in NY/NJ. Maybe he misunderstood what was allowed as he was from north of the city. Hell every time I want to buy/sell a gun around here I need to reread the laws several times. Maybe I'm just dense, but seems like they were written for situations like this. Make some poor soul a criminal. Just my 2cents. Thankks, Jimmy
  15. Try looking at one of these. I have them on 2 ARs and the seem to work real well. http://www.primaryweapons.com/STORE/PC/ ... dproduct=9 Jimmy
  16. I'd like to know where the Fed will get the money from. You don't need an education to know more taxes will have to be raised. The politicians must think there is no shortage of funds for the average person. Jimmy
  17. Nothing but baloney...go up the road to davis and he has plenty of .45.... .45 is the most commonly avaliable round, Cabelas has plenty, Dicks has plenty... its all hype... 45 ACP ??? I cant find decent stuff anywhere but online. Cabelas is backordered on WWB. I had Winchester 45 on order since Jan. from Cabelas. Last week I saw that they had PMC bronze, so I called and changed the order. Had it in 2 days. It was $144 for 300 and a dry box. Jimmy
  18. Thanks njpilot, that is the second time a Konus has been recommended to me. I had never heard of them before. I will definately search around for that one. Jimmy
  19. Hello All, I am looking for recommendations for a spotting scope, priced $200 or under. I am hoping at that price point I can see 223 holes at 300 yards. Anyone have any that they love or hate? Thanks for all the help. Jimmy
  20. Hey Bryan, I joined last week and went to the meetings. They said at the meetings that the run off holding tanks will comply with the Pinelands Comm. and that they will not have to rip up the parking lots, or roadway into the club. I wouldn't let whats going on hold you back from joining. It has to do with the pits and has not impacted the rest of the club. I was there yesterday and today and had a great time. YMMV but I am quite happy I became a member. Jimmy You are forgetting one key issue here Jimmy. Money. There is a finite amount of it at the bank. All of this fun stuff costs a pretty penny. It is stupid not to consider prices going up..... alot. According to the Director's the money is already allocated for the Pits, and the holding tanks will not be prohibitively expensive. They said dues will not go up. Now whether you believe that or not?.... They had 22 people join up last week so I don't think they are hurting for membership/cash at the moment. Again, I have only been a member for a week so I am not in the know, just what I hear. No one at the meeting seemed worried about the outlay of cash for the holding tanks, only what the pits will accommodate. They are increasing the pits from 6 to 13 with the new construction when it happens. Jimmy

  22. Jimmy, I see you're in Atlantic Highlands too. You should come out to Ft Dix with us soon. Some of the self-employed members here go on Wednesdays, but most of us are stuck going on weekends or days that we take off. Lunker that would be great. I would love to check out Dix, and also put some faces to screen names. Let me know when, and if you would like to check out CJRPC let me know. At the moment I have a pretty flexible schedule. They also have 24 hour hand gun range so even if you work for a living you can get there Jimmy
  23. Thanks BBK, I went shooting again today with my son. I surprised him by having another Noveske this one the N4 light 16". His face was priceless, when did you get that, LOL. Everything I've read BCM makes one hell of a rifle. I actually have another Noveske lower and was looking at their barrels and BCG. Just have to sneak it past the wife. It's a crazy thing, didn't care for them in the service, loved the M-14 but now it's hard to not keep getting different styles. As an aside I have 130 once fired brass, mostly Federal 5.56 if anyone is into reloading. Just let me know as it is looking for a good home. Thanks, Jimmy
  24. Thanks Brisco, good luck with your build. I have another stripped lower that I might build if I can hide it from my beautiful bride. Lets just say that all rounds hit 8 1/2 x 11 targets, LOL. Actually I was very happy for the first time with it. Might need some trigger work as there was some creep and could have been smoother. I would like to try it off a rest just to see what it can do. I am sure that the rifle is better then the shooter as happen in most cases. Thanks, Jimmy
  25. I have 2 Noveske's and am very happy with them, NJ compliant as shipped. POF (piston) will also make NJ compliant but last I checked it was a two month wait. LMT also makes NJ compliant but again when I was looking they had none in stock and there was a long wait. Jimmy
