  1. I know that many feel there shouldn't be any training requirements for a ccw because it's a constitutional right....BUT....there are many people who buy a gun and never even learn to clean, let alone shoot it...I'm o.k. with that if they want it for home protection....I feel that a minimal training requirement in safety and handling is not an unreasonable requirement. That is usually the tipping point for the comfort level of LEO's and politicians....and, quite honestly with me. I know many LEO's and have family members who are police and everyone of of them said that they don't have a problem with ccw 'as long as they have some type of training' All we need is someone with a ccw and no training to accidently shoot an innocent person and many of the politicians on the fence will lean toward more control. Just my 2 cents....
  2. www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0pMcFyWy6s Watch one of democratic Rep. Hank Johnson from Ga. on the HR822 committee on another topic...kind of gives you a lot of confidence in their ability to understand the facts..
  3. Watch this video of Rep. Hank Johnson of Ga., one of the democrat committee members....you'll see the general type of 'leader' they have elected.....it's hilarious!!!(and sickening) www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0pMcFyWy6s
  4. He would give you the same answer....'Listen, Blah, blah, blah, blah.....he doesn't feel they can trust the law abiding citizens of NJ to carry a firearm..... he always says he supports gun bans because it protects our 'law enforcement officers' like legal ccw holders are the problem!!!
  5. Oral arguments for the case scheduled Thursday, October 27, at 9:30 a.m. at the Newark federal courthouse!!! http://www.njd.uscourts.gov/ If anyone wants to attend...please dress appropriately for a federal court, and don’t bring anything “political” (e.g. big buttons, etc.). Please also remember to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow for time to get through security. The courthouse is located at: Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Building & U.S. Courthouse 50 Walnut Street Newark, NJ 07101 Phone : 973-645-3730
  6. Check out this letter.....it puts much of the case in 'a nutshell' http://www.foxnews.com/interactive/politics/2011/10/10/issa-responds-to-holder-letter-to-house-oversight-panel/
  7. Welcome to the forum....I lived in Waterford Twp for 29 years and finally moved out of Camden Co. to Atlantic Co.....still NJ so in may ways not much better...lower taxes though....My brother still lives in Atco and it took him about 6 weeks just for his permit to purchase a pistol. When I moved to Atlantic County (Hammonton) I did the change of address on my FOID. After not receiving it in about 6 weeks I contacted the Hammonton Police who told me they sent it to Atco a couple days after receiving it. The Atco police dept. just sat on it until I started calling them. Atco has a couple cops who think they're like the gastapo and carrying a badge (and a gun unlike other law abiding citizens in this state) makes them superior to everyone else. Other then that it's a nice town and I still go to church there.....
  8. HERE IS AN INTERESTING STORY SHOWING BIASED REPORTING.....THE LIBERAL U.K. STORY AND THE REAL STORY FROM THE LOCAL PRESS HERE IS THE U.K. LINK http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1381038/Sword-wielding-ninjas-launch-crime-wave-Pittsburgh.html HERE IS THE REAL STORY FROM THE LOCAL PRESS IN PITTSBURG.... http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/news/s_733835.html
  9. I should have chosen my words better when I said it was a stupid thing to do...I agree very strongly that we have our 2nd amendment rights and should exercise them....but when you oc in Philly you're basically asking for a confrontation from LE and as you see in the video Philly has their share of ignorant ones.....myself, I conceal simply because I don't want anyone knowing I carry....it also makes the average person in a liberal city with an anti gun culture like Philly very edgy because of their whole illogical and ignorant position on firearms...they automatically think you're up to no good and if one of them calls the cops on their cell phone they apparently have to investigate because they would be in a lot of trouble if it did turn up to be the 'bad guy' My own personality, unlike some others, is to exercise my right without anyone else knowing about it.
  10. Check out Lautenberg's latest statement regarding pro life supporters....'they don't deserve the freedoms in our Constitution' This arrogant piece of **** needs to go...he does't deserve ANY position in our government let alone a US Senator....his remark in his speech shows his true colors....it doesn't matter to him he got his seat illegally according to our State constitution....I emailed him and told him I felt his statement was disgraceful and I was going to contact everyone I know to email him too...I'm also forwarding it to the NRA...it doesn't relate to firearms laws but it shows his true feelings about anyone who doesn't agree with his or his major contributers policies....read the article...the pro life people were snowballed and couldn't even use their loud speakers (infringement of their free speech, but, of course they don't deserve it because they're pro life!!!) Found on NJCSD forum.... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=news&cd=2&ved=0CCoQqQIwAQ&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lifenews.com%2F2011%2F03%2F25%2Flautenberg-pro-life-people-dont-deserve-freedoms-in-constitution%2F&rct=j&q=Frank%20Lautenberg%20says%20people%20dont%20deserve%20freedoms&ei=owyRTb8-hre3B4-otEk&usg=AFQjCNF_wKWqeubJEpUABnXulcR06B56Rg&sig2=QTdvz5u-_lzgg7aETxJq_A&cad=rja
  11. I thinks it a stupid thing to do in Philly, open carry......It comes across as arrogance when someone says 'I don't have to show you my i.d."and is taping the whole encounter. I see this all the time and I think it makes a huge rift between LEO's and CCW holders....just show them the ID!! I don't agree the way the officer handled it as far as his language, etc. but he knows that criminals being intent on doing harm can seem very 'polite' and I'm sure he wants to feel certain he's going home to his family...Myself, when in Philly, I ALWAYS carry concealed!! NO reason to OC. Tell him to get a Crossbreed Supertuck.
  12. NOW THIS IS A GREAT IDEA FOR GUN CONTROL....SHOULD WORK OUT WELL
  13. "Guns are used to murder nearly 9,500 people in the country in an average year. There were 220 recorded gun murders in New Jersey in 2009" This statement by Lautenberg only give more reason to let LAW ABIDING citizens to legally carry a firearm....
  14. I'm already scheduled for the class in Philly in March...looking forward to it.....I'm also from New Jersey (Hammonton)....
  15. I can't understand the logic where the state feels that it is more likely an innocent bystander would be harmed than someone would be able to protect themselves with a firearm....I don't think that most rapes, muggings, assaults, murders, etc. happen in crowded areas..usually when the victim is alone...and an 'accidental discharg' This is very unlikely and almost impossible with todays holsters...and who is going to draw their firearm unless they have the 'justifiable need'?? The state doesn't get the fact that all the plaintiff's wanted a permit for was 'defense of self and family' which is clearly our constitutional right!!!
