I just love how in the wake of this scandal. Showing wither that A: they are to incompetent to properly operate an investigation or B: willfully tried to inflate the number of firearms smuggled into Mexico to further their agendas, they are trying to push for more control and regulation. Which they wont get so instead they are making what changes they can through executive fiat, which is being discussed in another thread.

There's no limit to how many guns you can own or how many rounds you can have for them, provided you don't run out of money. This doesn't stop the media from demonizing anyone who has an arsenal consisting of a 22lr, a bolt action rifle, a pump shotgun and a pistol. They will be aghast at the hundreds of rounds of ammunition that you have stockpiled. I believe the AP categorizes more than 1 gun to be an arsenal and more than one 50 round box of ammo to be a stockpile.

Ok, so where does it say its a carry license for an unloaded longarm?

I have heard this on the forum before but I can't seem to find the law and or statute that says its illegal to deviate with a handgun but not with a rifle. Has this ever come up in a court case?

My bad, saw the article come up on keepandbeararms and hadn't heard anything about it. Guess my ears not as close to the ground as I thought.

The funny thing is if we were to get a ruling September that'd be considered rather quick. Man I wish I could find a job where reading less than a hundred pages and writing maybe 20 in six months time would be considered working quickly...

Looks like the state is starting to take this case seriously. At least the writing is better-ish. Though they fail to realize that all arguments they are making are full of holes. Its like trying to demonstrate that a bucket with a whole in the bottom will hold water. And even if it won't? Well this other bucket with a hole in it will catch what it doesn't.

It was a letter written by the AG to gun stores notifying them that although previously the state police considered a temporarily blocked high cap mag (pinned blocked with wood) to not be an assault weapon they were now going to enforce the law as written. Yes this means that per the police you were compliance one week and breaking the law the next with no disposal recourse. Better have know how to "permanently " modify your magazines

NJ won't change any firearm laws favorably for gun owners unless they are forced kicking and screaming by the fed. Stupid things may happen, but its been the same in every case were carry laws were instituted. No random shootouts over parking spaces or the last sample at Costco .

There was one news outlet in Mexico which posted a story about project gunwalker and the link to the story is redirected to the FBI cyber crime page. So you can't view the original story as posted in Spanish last time I tries to view this morning. I believe the examiner had a story about this too. Also a Senator responded to the letters sent by persons in contact with the whistleblowers. I believe this was also covered in a story by examiner.
