I actually picked up the rifle today and its awesome!! It does have some sort of greasy material on it. It all over the bolt and all down the barrel. Thank you for the suggestions on the cleaner and where to find the stripper clips. I think I will be sending them an email!

Hello Everyone, I just received an awesome early Christmas gift from my parents which is a K-31 Swiss Rifle in walnut! I cannot wait to clean it and take it out but the deal is I have to wait until Christmas to mess with it since it is a Christmas present. In the meantime I wanted to gather some information on how to remove cosmoline from the rifle? I saw someone online who used Krud Cutter but do you think this will hurt the finish? Also what type of oil should I put into the wood once the cosmoline has been removed? The wood does have bit of tiger stripping so I am looking forward to brining that out! Also I was looking for stripper clips for the K-31 but I only found one which came with the dummy rounds and it was close to $30 dollars. Does anyone know a local dealer or online dealer where I can find a pack of them? I cannot wait to get out to the range!! Thank you for your help!

Hello Everyone, Thank you for the input. I hear that in 30-06 the gun is capable of .725 accuracy. I am not sure if they used hand loads or what to obtain that group. Hello Everyone, I was looking for a good rifle on a budget and came across the Remington 783. Does anyone know about this rifle? If I am going to purchase a bolt action I want it to be real accurate. Would it be best to get a bolt action in .308 or 300 Win Mag for long ranges? Thank you for your help!

Thank you everyone for the replies! My father recently retired and is looking to celebrate his retirement with a nice gift to himself which is a K-31 in walnut from Aim Surplus. I called the Gun Rack Yesterday and they said about 55 OTD which is super cheap. I am very curious about Freedom Ammo. Does anyone know who owns this store? Do they just sell ammo or do they stock firearms as well. I really wanted to check it out. Does anyone know their hours? It also amazes me how expensive some places are to transfer by the time you are done with the NICS you can spend an extra $100 dollars and you can practically buy a hi-point pistol for that price LOL! I have the carbine and its great! Just the price point of those guns amaze me. Thank you everyone for your help!

I know they are a bit ugly but my hi-point carbine is amazing! It is one of the most accurate guns I own. It will tear out the same hole on the paper. You simply cannot beat it for a new production gun at that price. You might even be able to buy two of them in different calibers for the price of the Ruger.

They have been trying to get this passed for years! What is the point of this stupid gun safety. It is simply a horrible idea! What happens if a member of your family is not home and some crackhead kicks in your door out of his mind, armed with a weapon and your family cannot defend themselves since the gun only operates with a certain family members prints. Also what happens if the gun safety malfunctions or is dropped and broken during a scuffle during a carry situation? (out of state of course) What is it with todays society where they are made to fear guns instead of embracing them like a tool which should be respected. I mean an electric saw can cut your finger off but you are taught to keep you finger away from the blade. Keep you guns locked in a safe and follow basic safety rules and you will be fine.

I was looking on Gunbroker last night and they were running between $900-$1,200 roughly. I am also curious about the BiPod if you would not mind could you let me know where to order one. Also if anyone has some advice my foreend started to crack a bit when can I do to repair it?

They are cool rifles! I am thinking about upgrading the scope to a higher magnification but I really like the POS Scope recital design. Does anyone have any recommendations? I would really enjoy shooting this rifle at more than 200 yards though.

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone here owns a PSL-54C and if so did you customize your gun? Also what is the furthest distance you shot at with this rifle and was it accurate?

Can you get an upgrade? You might want to do that and keep the phone since it still has all you important data on it including your credit card info from ITunes if you entered it in.
