  1. I purchased the gun mostly for distance target shooting but the 220gr ammo to have a fun day at the range. I never shot that grain before. I also hear its a fantastic hunting round out to about 160 yards.
  2. The S&W M&P AR15 is a nice rifle at a good price.
  3. Hello Everyone, I was just wondering if someone could recommend a good local SJ dealer that has good prices on 30-60? I just picked up a Remington 783 from Dicks Sporting Goods in Delaware in 30-06 and I cannot wait to take it out to the range. To finish it off I purchased scope rings from CDNN and I plan to install my 12x Illumined Scope from Truglo. I also purchased one box of 30-06 Remington Core Lokt in 220 Grain to sight in but I would like to get one more box to see which ammo the rifle shoots best with. If anyone is looking for a rifle Dicks has a great deal on the rifle this week. They have the firearm on sale for $375 and a $75 mail in rebate bringing it down to $300. Remington is also running a special if you purchase ammo and the rifle you receive a $20 voucher. What a great deal!
  4. Hi Recon Racoon, I apologize for getting back to you late. I actually just picked up the 783 at Dicks Sporting Good yesterday. They were running an AMAZING SALE you can get the entire rifle after a $75 rebate for $300 dollars. You cannot beat that! Did you ever get a chance to shoot your rifle yet? If so, what type of ammo did you use? I picked up a box of Remington Core-Lock 220 grain at Cabelas the other day. I hear that its great ammo according to the reviews. I also purchased scope rings from CDNN. They are new and act as a base for the 783 in addition to a ring. I plan on mounting my Truglo 12x illuminated scope on their, its should be amazing! I am truly looking forward to getting it all setup and getting out to the range. What do you use your firearm for do you hunt or just shoot targets? I hope to hear back from you soon!
  5. Can you hide the blind from hunters by using some sort of natural grass or netting? If they can't find it they can't use it!
  6. I actually just picked up a Remington 783 today and I might later switch the stock for a Boyds they seem very nice! If I see a Howa in a store sometime I will need to check it out. At least I know now that they are quality. Thank you for the help!
  7. Thank you for letting me know about this!
  8. Hello Everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knows if Cabelas is currently running any coupons at this time for in store purchases? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  9. DC Sportsmen, I think one idea is to get both parties together through local groups & clubs. This will lead to more hunters becoming interested in person defense and target shooting sports. In it will also provide exposure for others to join in and become interested in hunting. Overall this idea I feel will build friendships and further unite the gun community overall.
  10. Thank you everyone for the great information! According to my research and in conjunction with what I am reading on this forum the 30-06 seems to be a better round for large game but the 308 is more available in match configurations and being an army standard had a lot of availability. I have been shooting rifles for a number of years and own several large calibers such as the 7.5 swiss, 7.62x54 and have shot my brothers 30-06 several times and I like it. At this point I found a 30-06 Remington 783 at Cabelas and they are willing to match Dicks Sporting goods weekly price. They did not have the .308 in stock in this rifle and at the price point its hard to ignore. Remington is also offering a rebate where I will get an additional $20 off. I also saw a very interesting article where they compared the .308 and 30-06 rounds at medium and long ranges and the 30-06 won out for long distance shooting. I also want to hunt large game some time in the future so I think the 30-06 is the way to go. If anyone has any additional information on this caliber comparison I would truly enjoy hearing it. Thank you for your help! http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2011/04/308-win-vs-30-06-match-results-may-surprise-you/
  11. I did not know that! It certainly sounds like a good company though it Mossberg and Weatherby are willing to put their names on the Howa products. I will have to check out some price point to see what they offer. Thank you for the information!
  12. Hello Everyone, I am in the market for a new budget firearm and I have been looking at the Remington 783. However, I simply cannot decide what caliber to purchase I want a super accurate caliber that can reach out to long ranges. Can someone tell me the main differences between the 30-06 and .308 and which one you prefer for long ranges? I found a bargain on the 30-06 rifle for around $100 cheaper than the other calibers but I want to make the right decision. I have also been looking into the .300 win mag but I think the recoil will be to severe for a lightweight 783. I would greatly appreciate the help! Thank you!
  13. Thank you very much for the reply on the Howa rifles! They do seems to be amazingly accurate! Unfortunately, Cabelas sold out of the gun I was looking at and it was a bit out of my price range but I will keep them in mind for the future. I would truly enjoy obtaining an accurate rifle for low cost possible around $300 do you have any additional suggestions? Thank you for your help!

    SDR Noob

Hello Everyone, I have recently been experimenting with SDR Radio and purchased the hardware below to get started. Being a total radio noob is it possible to pickup addition frequencies such as police, EMT, HAM and CB? I really would like to listen to local stations besides FM and AM. I am currently using a software called RDSSHARP and I am told that its a very powerful tool but I just need to learn how to use it properly. Do I need a stronger antenna? If so which one should I purchase? I want a powerful one and can pickup these additional frequencies and is compatible with the MCX connector which plugs into my computer's USB hardware connector. Thank you for your help!
  15. Thank you everyone for your input it is most appreciated! I have seen listings here and there in North and Central Jersey but that is really far to travel day to day. If possible I am seeking employment in South Jersey or possibly right over the bridge in Delaware. Any help would be appreciated!
  16. Thank you Checko! I had no idea there was one located on this forum. I am going to check this out. Thank you for your help!
  17. Hello Everyone, Has anyone else recently noticed that descent jobs in NJ practically seem to be non-existent? I have been working for roughly five years as a Freelance Graphic Designer & IT Technician and obtaining corporate employment has been virtually impossible. I am curious are there other people here with different occupations who are seeking employment and simply cannot find work? If so, could you post the occupation? It might be nice to try and network together. Perhaps when someone sees a listing in your field they could send you PM or simply post it within this discussion. Thank you everyone for your time and I hope we can work together.
  18. Thank you everyone for the info. I still have not been able to find it in my price range. Has anyone seen the Beretta or CZin stock? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

  21. The works! mustard, ketchup, relish, jalapenos, sour kraut and whatever else I can find that would go well on the dog.
  22. It looks like a really nice firearm but I am at the point in considering if I can afford it. Thank you everyone for the feedback!
  23. Thank you everyone for the information! I think I might just pick one of these up. I was not a big fan of the GSG since it felt cheap when I held it. I really like steel guns. Thank you for the advice!
  24. Does anyone know if this went to the governors desk yet?
  25. Hello, I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the GSG STG-44 22LR 16.5" BARREL WOOD STOCK 1-10RD MAG is NJ legal? If so, does anyone own one and are they good quality? Thank you for your time and help! http://www.cdnnsports.com/gsg-stg-44-22lr-16-5-bbl-wood-stock-1-10rd-mag.html#.U31__XVOW70
