  1. That application folder should contain an uninstall icon. Not sure if that is the one that is throwing the error.
  2. Friend's Dell tower did the same recently. After reboot it would go to a black screen with a blinking underscore in the top left. We couldnt get it to the homescreen or even into safe mode. Even tried going through bios and setup options. I habe read some people habe had luck with reseating the ram and pulling the internal battery but wr did.not. If you Google it you will see it seems to be a semi common issue with Dells. My friend ended up pulling the hdd (to try and recover data at a later date) and tossing the comp into a dumpster.
  3. I remember when I originally saw a brief commercial for the show I was like wtf? and blew it off. However, a week or two ago I caught an episode during an Oddities marathon and I literally spent the entire day watching each episode back to back. Turns out it's a super interesting show with awesome pieces and very interesting customers. I even developed a crush on Laura Flook during the marathon. She is so bizarrely interesting I couldn't keep my eyes off her. Even my girlfriend ended up loving the show and she signed us up to be members with batcon.org based off a passing mention from Evan. Congrats on a great show and I wish you continued success. P.S. Is it me or does Mike sound remarkably like Seth Rogan?
  4. If that sale is over someone posted and Uncle Sam's link in this section that had them for cheap. Not sure what the shipping looks like though.
  5. I received my two boxes today as well. One was in excellent condition and the other was in good condition on the outside but when I opened it up it had a pool of rusty water inside. I just ended up cleaning it out and the rust ended up being very superficial. There was also some minor paint peel from the moisture. It's currently drying out and appears to be in very serviceable condition. Thanks again for the link.
  6. What's the best way to address the range procedures when you see something that isn't right? Just say something and hope the person takes it in the spirit it was given? Or being safe is safe and say what has to be said regardless? For example the range went safe and someone went up to their table and started to load their mags and touch whatever else was on the table. I knew everyone was supposed to behind the line (unless addressing their targets) but I didn't say anything. I suppose it's partly because I am still very new and getting my confidence with the rules etc. My first day there I made the mistake of stepping in front of the line but was quickly corrected by the RO who was driving by and I haven't made the mistake again.
  7. Took a lunch hour run to CR for some time at the Pistol Range. The neighboring rifle range was pretty busy but there were only a handful of people at the pistol range. It was such a beautiful day despite being a little hot. Regardless I had fun and enjoyed the short time I spent there. I put a few boxes through the p226 and was pleased with my new steel guide rod and Slide Glide lube. I'll take a look at the slide wear once I get home and do a full cleaning. Overall I am very happy with my decision to join CR so far the ranges have been fun to use and the people have been very cordial. I always seem to run into an older gentlemen who has been tinkering with his vintage 1911 and end up speaking to him for quite a while.
  8. I bought the same safe and it has been great so far. The biometric scanner was easy to program and has worked consistently so far. It is good for a few handguns, papers etc but be warned it fills up quickly. You will also want to take into account that if you get into long rifles or a collection you will have to get a larger safe to replace or compliment it.
  9. As a new shooter myself I can appreciate you building up your accessories. 1. I believe I will be signing up for a Basic course since I have no formal training despite having shot infrequently for many years. It's always good to learn how to do things properly and stem any bad habits before it's too late. 2. I have heard people rave about the Midway bags not only for their price but also their utility and durability. That being said I ended up with an Eagle Industries Pro Shooter's bag which I love but I am not sure given the price difference is justifiably better than a Midway bag. The Leight's seem to get a big thumbs up from many people especially due to price. I ended up with a pair of Peltor muffs but may eventually pick up the Leight's since I'd like to have a spare for friends. As for a cleaning kit I purchased an Otis kit for it's small size so if I need to I can throw it in my bag. It has all the essentials I need right now to clean the one gun I own. I may consider a larger kit in the future for home use as I add to the gun collection. 3. I have picked up some Otis solvents and some from Walmart and still feeling out which I like the best. I have also picked up Miltech lube and Slide Glide as well. 4. Gun choice was a big dilemma for me at first as well but I had the luxury of being to fire many different guns before buying. Firing before you buy is huge because you just don't know how you will like a gun just by looking at it and holding it. I ended up liking the P226, HK USP followed by the Beretta 92fs. I purchased the P226 and will likely get a USP with my last PP. As many will mention make sure you take into account caliber as ammo cost will pile up quickly as a new shooter. I ended up with a 40 and have shelled out quite a bit on ammo already. 5. As a new member of Cherry Ridge I can recommend it for it's diverse ranges and scenic backdrop. Just keep in mind it is outdoors so weather plays a big role in use. You also need to keep up to date with the range schedules to make sure whatever range you want to use is open/not in use. 6. I'll leave that up to the vets here. Sorry if I wasn't too helpful I am still trying to figure stuff out myself. Good luck and just browse around these boards there is so much info here from so many experienced people. Is that a Shih Tzu as your avatar?
  10. Thanks, I grabbed two as well. Same price as above. Think I paid more for just one locally.
  11. Nice to see something that isn't negative for a change: NY Post Article
  12. Contacted Sig and provided a picture of the frame rail. The CS reps initial reaction was that the wear fell somewhere between normal and excessive but that they would get their gunsmith's opinion. The next morning I received an email from the CS rep that the smith said that the wear was normal during the break in and to keep the rail well lubed and that the wear would even out and eventually stop. Can't say that I was too surprised by the response based on the other instances I have read about. All I can do now is get over the "cosmetic" blemish on my new gun and just shoot it as intended and keep it well lubed. If the issue becomes worse I'll take it up with Sig then.
  13. I strongly suggest you purchase some Slide Glide or Frog Lube for your Elite (if you don't have it already) prior to firing to protect your frame rails from too much initial wear. Regardless congrats on the purchase it's a nice choice.
  14. Thanks for the response. Since I last posted I have read all the posts from other owners on various boards about similar issues. Seems strange that the galling/gouging happens on some Sigs and not others regardless of model. It's a little confusing since opinions seem to differ on if this is something to be worried about. Additionally the varying responses from Sig add to the confusion. I will probably contact Sig and see what they say. At the very least I'll establish a record of my concern. For me it seems like unusual wear since it goes beyond just the coat being worn off. When there is actual gouging of the frame it seems like a more serious concern to me. I have ordered Slide Glide to help if Sig says it's normal wear.
  15. Put in my first day at the Ridge since Orientation day this morning. Had a great time and had a chance to chat with a few very friendly people. Looking forward to the days ahead.
  16. Put in my first day at the Ridge and had a great time. Got a chance to chat with a couple of people and everyone was very friendly. I shot a few rounds through my new gun and then went home to clean it. Once I got it apart a noticed some wear on the frame where it meets the slide. Sorry for the quality of the camera phone pic. Is this normal or is it something I need to be concerned about? The wear is only on that side of the frame. Thanks for any input.
  17. Do you know any shops that stock them in NJ? Very interested but would like to handle one in person before I would shell out that kind of coin. Sorry for the off track post.
  18. Man that sounds horrible. Is it torn where it attaches at the bone or somewhere inbetween?
  19. They confirmed all the ranges would be closed for that Youthfest at last weekends orientation.
  20. Congrats. I almost went with the enhanced elite then switched to the tacops. The elite is an awesome choice the ergo grips are very comfortable. What caliber did you get?
  21. UPDATE: The slide was waiting on the porch when I got home from work. I am excited to get to the range.
  22. Yeah the left night sight dot was completely dead on the rear site on my brand new gun. Sent it in the day after I bought it. I considered buying a sight pusher but I had dropped so much money on the gun, accessories, ammo etc (new owner) that I was very hesitant to buy a semi-expensive tool which would be used sparingly. I was hoping it would be a quick turnaround since I heard that Sig had been turning around warranty repairs quickly in the recent past. It seems like the tool would be a good investment for someone to have on hand when the need arises so that you aren't jammed up like I am or have to take it to someone and pay them to do what is essentially a few minute job.
  23. Man waiting for my slide to return from Sig has been torture. They received it last Monday so they are still well within the 10-12 business days return but I was hoping since it was a simple rear sight swap that I might get it back within a week. I made it up to the Cherry Ridge orientation this past Sunday and was jealous to see the new members able to walk out of the clubhouse and down to the range while I had to get back in my car and head home after the meeting.
  24. Thanks for the info. How long is the orientation?
  25. Glad I caught this thread. I have been traveling a bunch this month and lost track of time. Anything special I should know about the orientation? I assume you have to sign up and pay on the website before you go to orientation? Thanks.
