I went with a simple LMT rear sight.. this is going to be a KISS rifle for me.. the PSA I have has the RDS on it, Troy FF, etc on it.. sounds like a plan..

got the BHF Hammer Forge one.. couldn't wait.. next day they sold out of these also.. just got it in today.. took only 2 days.. they left the A2 FH off... so I can more easily attach and PIN/WELD my incoming brake.. Can't wait for the other parts to get here..

I bit and bought the Spikes BCG for $110 from AIM.. The BCM upper is due in today The Spikes BCG got delayed in Parsippany NJ at UPS due to weather conditions.. The lowers are due in Monday.. the LPK/Build kit due in Monday. The CTD order for CH and Brake are due in Thursday.. should be GTG by next weekend.. will post pics of the upper later today..

@ OldSchool.. got the BLUE TAPE and PUNCH set yesterday and.. Thanks.. I heard about the DETENTs being a PITA.. some guy used his NRA card to hold his in.. the razor blade would be better so thank you for the tip on that.. @intercooler.. I live in PA and shoot in NJ sometimes.. I have PIN'd 4 Brakes now myself with 0 issues.. and it takes me about 20 mins to drill it, dimple the barrel, tap the brake, screw in a SS setscrew, and then a weld.. (which is free by a local welder).. and I don't like the FSC556.. and the other BCM options are WAY to pricey.. ADCO does it for like $30 and shipping back to me, so that may be another option for some looking to do the same.. heres the last DPMS Upper I did with a Miculek.. see the weld.. nope.. I covered it over with some QS and smoothed it with the dremel.. but thank you for the concerns.. I don't see many build threads on here.. so I figured I'd do one with pics and/or video..

Thanks.. yeah I'll be checking it out.. I have a PSA upper currently with premium BCG and have 1300+ rounds now with 0 issues.. I would use this BCG but alot of people give me THAT WARNING of DON'T DO IT.. have to see how this times out.. PSA is stating they will have 14.5" Middys in a few weeks.. patience hoepfully will prevail and I can snag either a 14.5" LW or Standard BCM for $399 pricing.. or maybe a PSA 14.5" Middy with the BCG.. the 14.5" BCM BFH is $489 and a little STEEP for my pockets.. hence my wait on ordering the upper toooo soon..

So I jumped on the PSA $50 lower train and ordered 1 last Wed.. Today I ordered the PSA Build Kit with MOE Stock, MOE pistol grip, and complete LPK for $139.. I also located a MOE Middy Hanguard for $30 and free shipping.. FWIW.. I'm going with Olive Drab MagPul on this.. The upper has been chosen..... BCM 14.5" Midlength.. and I measured my DPMS Miculek Brake and looked also online and it puts me over the 16" minimum to avoid the 'STAMP'.. (the FSC556 Comp/Brake is nice but not for $110 BCM wants..) Overall $775 for the complete rifle.. I am using my current BCG till funds allow.. though AIM has the SPIKES BCG for $110 and free shipping.. can't wait.. the lower was ordered last Wed.. and I ordered the LPK and MOE Kit today got my punches and small hammer and visegrips ready to go.. stay tuned for pics.. I may run a build video also..

as a side note.. Palmetto State Armory has NEW lowers on sale for $57 shipped.. I just grabbed one for my 1st build..

I would think they would PIN there Comp since its for BAN states.. try ringing them on Monday or dropping them an email.. Looks pretty GTG.. IMHO.. I went the PSA route but had to pin my own.. I opted for a low pro GB vs the standard A2 front sight.... you can always send the UPPER to ADCO from dealer.. and they can PIN and then ship it to you.. again, call Stag and just ask..

Thanks.. thing is ROCK solid.. Was on the front of the 7" Quad I used to have.. sight radius was like 11 3/4".. now its at 14 1/2" with the MBUS. Thats a Primary Arms M3 (clone) with 3MOA only red dot..

Ok.. here is the bottom of the rail after install.. the 4 outer screws go in loose.. then slide the bottom rail into the notches in the upper rail.. go slow tightening each screw alternating between them for evenness.. make sure your Upper is bare.. so you can lay the whole thing FLAT and align it easier.. (or you something that will span from the rail to the upper rail.. maybe a carry handle would work).. Here is a shot of the TOP where it meets the Upper.. almost 0 gap.. Longview.. Right Side.. Left Side.. and the overall pic.. with camera.. I gained a solid 3" on my sight radius with my MBUS installing this.. This part of the install was like 10-15 minutes of even tightening.. common sense and read the directions..

Cover with another BOX or heavy Brown Kraft paper from kraft store.. wrap REALLY well.. and insure it for full value.. If its a Rifle YOU can ship via US Postal Service yourself.. to the MFG or any FFL.. Avoid the stores to ship things back.. they will charge you $$ on top of the shipping.. this is what I do..

DPMS Miculek Brake worked BEST for me.. (on 2 308 rifles and 1 5.56 AR) CTD has the standard AR15 type for $30 vs Midways $45.. I drilled mine.. then put on.. then dimpled the barrel.. then removed.. then use 8-32 TAP set (from Lowes for $7 comes with #29 bit).. then also buy some 3/16" long x 8-32 Threaded Set Screws for $0.70.. TAP the Brake.. then thread in the 3/16" screws.. grind FLUSH with BRAKE.. then Weld.. or just Drill Brake and Dimple the Barrel.. and Drop Some 'WELD' into the HOLE.. This is my take on it.. though not PERFECT and not legal advise.. or send to ADCO and $$

I decided to upgrade my standard plastic Hand Guards on my PSA M4 style upper.. Troy is running 50% off the Troy MRF-MX 10" Quad.. its $105 with FREE SHIPPING.. I had PSA install a low-pro gasblock vs. the standard FSB for just this purpose when I ordered the upper last month.. My YHM 5M2 Brake is pinned so.. I needed the ease of the Troy MRF type rail. Heres a pic of the PSA upper as I got it.. Heres a pic of the low-pro gas block they had installed for me (for free) Heres a pic with the gas block loosened up an me beating on the END CAP and moving the gasblock just enough to get the gas tube off and the END CAP cut... and yes I did nick the gas block a hair.. no biggie will be under the new Troy MRF 10" Quad Rail.. Note: you DO have to CUT the Delta Ring and Spring Pack off with a Dremel also for this to install. the nice part is you DO NOT need to remove the barrel nut or barrel.. Use care not to hit the upper with the cut-off wheel when cutting the Delta Ring or the END CAP.. Heres a pic of the gas tube and gas block back on whilst I wait for the BROWN TRUCK today.. I'll post more pics later when I get home and install..

did I mention last month (I did in another post(in the pics section) I got the 5M2 Brake for my AR) that I got this resolved and got a brake.. if you look up the last active post was june 12th.. over a month ago.. I was debating Cav Comp Brake or YHM Brake.. and went YHM in the end..

Well Wicens up in Warminster sucks.. 100 yards.. you have to SIT at a bench under a concrete enclave.. Range 14 is 200 yards and much better for standing/bench/prone.. I weld/pin my brakes.. and my $8/mags reduced to 15 rounds isn't killing me.. and if I do sell the rifles.. some Cali buyers think I'm 'the man'... sold my old DPMS upper a few weeks back for $365.. and new they were on sale at Midway for $370.. so I made out pretty good.. IMHO.. you have Saiga rifles correct?? you have to neuter them also.. I've had 3 Saigas and all sold within reason, with pinned brakes and 15 round or less mags.. NJ = PAY TO PLAY..

My PSA upper today at Range 14 in Burlington, NJ.. I had 8 out of 60 rounds of Federal AE Tactical 223 ammo with HARD PRIMERS today.. 2 of which would not fire with 2nd loadings even.. must have been a bad batch to Cabelas. the 240 rounds of PMC XTAC 556 NATO ran fine with 0 issues.. at 50 yards and Primary Arms M3 clone with 3MOA dot.. off a front Caldwell bag.. at 50 yards with SilverBear 62gr.. at 100 yards at 200 yards.. a little low.. but I'll take it.. as you can see its a SMALL 50 yard silouette.

Back to the Range 14 this Saturday.. got to test/zero out my new Primary Arms M3 (clone) which came highly recommended.. also got to ZERO the MBUS for 100 yards, and get the scope squared up at 200 yards..

Well at Range 14 today.. with the new PSA upper.. I used a Caldwell front bag.. and a cheap 6x32 scope.. heres the 100 yard group.. (thats a 2" yellow circle) and 200 yards.. (about 3 1/4" group or so...) Still gotta adjust it down abit.. ran out of time..
