  1. No harm in asking. They aren't following the law so it's well within your rights to politely ask what's going on. Do you know if your references got forms and sent them back?
  2. Ok cool thank you! I have another permit to burn as some already read my thread it will be the M&P 9 M2.0. When I decide which gun I want to go with I will get night sights for the other.
  3. I have no intentions of doing any competition shooting any time soon, but maybe next year after I get re-acquainted with shooting and take a few training classes that involve drawing and movement. I would most likely want to start out in a class with stock guns. I read that there are some minor changes that are acceptable in these classes. Would upgraded sights (with tritium) and an apex trigger kit still be acceptable in an IDPA or USPSA stock class?
  4. While all you guys are "smart-homing" it up, hopefully you're changing your Wi-Fi password from Password to something secure. That also goes for the password to login to your router as well.
  5. Here it is. i am really loving the gray. I didn't get to shoot it yet, but i have a free session card that I will use tomorrow.
  6. I was wondering when you would jump in! I haven't been on the forums for a few years but I remember you for sure! However you were in NJ. I guess you voted with your feet and headed to AZ. It is true that definite doesn't always mean final. It would if I only had the one permit. I have another permit sitting here YAY! It is still definite. Just now it won't be definite for at least 31 days LOL.
  7. Thank you very much for the offer. I ended up buying an all gray Glock 19 at Garden State. Tony was super nice. He told me NICS is running at least an hour and half so I came home. Just waiting for the call. Once I get it I'll post pics.I figure by the time I have the funds to cash in my second permit the M2.0's will be more readily available.
  8. I was in a shop getting a Glock 19 at around 2:30pm and the person helping said they were running at least an hour and a half at that time. Since I'm nearby I left and he'll call me. Still waiting.
  9. Thanks for your input. I am definitely going to go with the M2.0. I'm sure I could meet up with one of you stellar gents to try out your 1.0 with the Apex. If it seems better I can always get an Apex kit for the 2.0 when it's available. Thanks again!
  10. Toms River Twp. - Submitted for a change of address and two permits on 12/6. Got the call this Monday 1/9 they were ready. By my estimation, taking into account the holidays, that is under 30 days.
  11. No problem! I assume you'll get my pricing request I just submitted through the forum process
  12. Thanks for your input. I think I will definitely look into the 2.0. I'm watching some reviews on it now and it sounds like they made some improvements on something that was already pretty great.
  13. I like to be on the bleeding edge so I will most definitely check into this. Thank you for your help!
  14. So I got a couple of P2P's yesterday. I am pretty sure I know what I am buying. I haven't shot in a few years and had a Glock 19. I ended up selling it. So one permit is going towards getting another because I miss it. The other permit I think I want to buy an M&P 9. I have read tons of great things on this firearm but there are multiple versions and I can't seem to find a good comparison on the differences. I would consider myself between novice and intermediate. These will be used for home defense, range, and I may push myself outside of my comfort zone and try out some competition. I am definitely not close to being good for competition, but I hope that will help me get better. So here are my questions on the M&P: 1. Should I go ported or not ported? In my research it just seems the porting reduces recoil. Any other pros or cons? 2. Is it worth the extra coin for the Pro or better to buy the base and switch out the trigger and optics? 3. 5" or 4.25"? I am leaning towards the 5" for the longer sight radius and less flip. 4. The C.O.R.E version is slotted for certain sights. Is this worth getting? Thanks in advance for your opinions and help!
  15. I can see the logic here. We as gun enthusiasts (especially in NJ) should be elated that it doesn't get sent to the NJSP, we shouldn't think it's weird. I initially thought you were off base, but I see how you reached the conclusion for sure.
  16. Oh I FULLY agree with you. However as long as we live in this state this is how it will be NJ2AS has done a great job on awareness, but we just don't have enough people pressing. Even if we did, the vinegar bags in Trenton will still pass what THEY want, not what we want. TR could have drag this out much much longer like other townships. They didn't though. So they deserve acknowledgment for working within the law. It was more of a surprise when the lady that took my forms told me they were running around two months. The day started out awful for me, so this brought a smile to my face. Time to spend some money :-)
  17. Almost 4 years ago I moved out of Toms River and down to Marlton. After about 6 months I moved back to Toms River. I never updated my FID because I had no intentions of buying any more handguns and I wasn't shooting much. I decided I wanted to start back up shooting more and get a few new toys. I submitted my Change of Address along with a request for two pistol permits on December 6th. As of yesterday my references never received paperwork. Today I got a call from the PD letting me know my permits were ready to pick up! If you take the holidays into account that comes in under 30 days! Kudos to Toms River PD for being on the ball!
  18. I'm a rare breed among who I know. Most are anti.
  19. Thanks for the response. Their website refers yout othe State Police site fro the form and that one doesn't specify "not living with you".
  20. I did a search on this but didn't come up with anything. Can I use my girlfriend who I live with as a reference? Obviously not related, no kids together, don't own a home together. Wasn't sure if the fact we lived at the same address made a difference. Thanks for your help in advance.
  21. Fair enough. Thank you for the quick response.
  22. I completed my first private face to face sale. I need to mail the white and yellows out. Do you normally just drop them in the mail first class or do you send certified or get at least a delivery confirmation? I know the address for NJSP is a PO Box so I am not sure what options I have. I just want to be covered. Thanks for your help.
  23. Thanks for the replies all. Much appreciated
