  4. If you want to be a hero with a gun, join the Marines Bob Percopo, author of the Jan. 17 oped “Allowing concealed carry gun law in New Jersey is common sense,” thinks he should be able to carry a concealed weapon. He tells us all about how well trained he is. As a three armed conflict Marine veteran, that’s exactly what I’m going talk about. Apparently, Percopo has never been shot at. Shooting at paper targets is a lot different then when the targets shoot back, and you are shaking like a leaf. Go to Youtube, and type in “shoot out,” and see people fire 40 rounds at each other from 10 feet away and miss. Where did all the bullets go? Also type in people shooting themselves; and you will see range instructors just like Percopo, and cops, and FBI agents shooting themselves while giving a class on gun safety! The very people he says qualified him. While the police can say you are qualified to handle a gun, they have no idea about your mental state. And, just imagine what a cop sees if he comes on a scene of people shooting at each other. One’s a good guy, and the other is a bad guy. Only to the cop they both look the same. Who does he shoot? I would shoot you both and ask questions later. The last thing we need is more people with guns on the streets hoping to be heroes. If you want to be a hero with a gun, join the Marines. Maybe then you will get the message that gun nuts are dangerous to everyone’s health, no matter what side you are on. Edward H.Decker Manchester To which I say, Mr. Decker, IF, you were in fact, a Marine, you are a disgrace to the Corp. You took an Oath to defend the constitution "I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." Upon discharge you were NEVER relieved of that oath. Concealed Carry is about the right to defend oneself not to be used offensively. YOU POS!

  8. Vehicle Crashes Into Gun Shop In Manahawkin: Police (UPDATE) The crash caused a gas leak, according to authorities. A road was also closed. By Tom Davis, Patch Staff Jan 24, 2020 7:54 am ET | Updated Jan 24, 2020 8:24 am ET MANAHAWKIN – A driver crashed a car into a guns and ammunition store on Friday, closing a road and causing evacuations, authorities said. The crash happened at 1:50 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into P&K Firearms and Ammo on East Bay Avenue near Park Avenue, police said. A 2016 Ford Edge driven by Ramon Davis Jr., 20, of Barnegat was traveling west on Bay Avenue when it left the roadway and struck several trees, police said. It then crashed into the P&K Firearms and Ammo building, police said. Davis sustained minor injuries and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for treatment. The collision compromised a gas line, causing the evacuations of nearby residents. No other people were injured. East Bay Avenue was closed, and later reopened, between Route 9 and Union during the investigation. NJ Natural gas was able to secure the gas leak and the company was still working to patch the roadway back up on Friday morning. The area was deemed safe and residents have been returning to their homes.

  16. Get ready for a BIG SURPRISE! Two Arrested, Two Guns Recovered In Gun Controlled NJ Posted at 8:00 pm on January 22, 2020 by Tom Knighton https://bearingarms.com/tomk/2020/01/22/two-arrested-two-guns-recovered/?utm_source=badaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nl&bcid=bc1d86e1053dd21c60a121534def959c The state of New Jersey has a lot of gun control. In fact, it’s one of the most gun controlled states in the country. Like California and Illinois, it often seems like the state has never heard a gun control proposal it didn’t like. Yet despite all that gun control, New Jersey has a problem with so-called gun violence. Recently a couple of people were arrested and a couple of guns recovered in the gun control state. Jersey City police responding the Booker T. Washington housing complex at 6:20 p.m. on a complaint of drug dealing approached a 17-year-old boy who then fled, Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. Police quickly apprehended the teen, who was charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of prohibited weapon, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and resisting arrest. At 11:40 p.m., police arrested 19-year-old Darby Shirden in the area of Fulton and Rose avenues after he fled from police, said Wallace-Scalcione, who noted that the handgun Shirden discarded during the chase was recovered. So we have two people, both too young to purchase a handgun, in possession of handguns in one of the most gun controlled states in the nation. I mean, it’s almost like gun control doesn’t work or something. New Jersey gun control voices would likely chime out about how this is all the fault of other states that don’t have tight gun control laws. Governor Phil Murphy threatened to shame those states in an effort to push them to do what he wanted them to. Obviously, I don’t buy that. First, these two couldn’t have purchased their guns anywhere legally. They’re both under the age of 21. That’s the federally mandated age limit for purchasing a firearm. That means these guns were likely black market guns. I hate to break it to you, but black market guns are usually stolen guns, meaning no amount of gun control is going to stop the flow of guns there. Yet will anyone look at this and recognize that maybe, just maybe, there are bigger problems at play than access to guns, especially since these people–one not even old enough to vote–are walking around with guns while the state heavily restricts everyone else from lawfully doing so? The criminals aren’t obeying those laws, so tell me again how shall issue laws are enabling criminals? Tell me again how constitutional carry doesn’t help the law-abiding citizens? I don’t care how many times I say it; some simply won’t get it. The criminals will not obey the gun laws laid down at any level of government. As a result, only the law-abiding citizens who may have been threatened by these two would be disarmed. They were set to be oppressed by the tyranny of the thug, a real problem in so many of our American cities governed by gun control enthusiasts; people who often have private security for themselves and their families. New Jersey’s gun control laws failed, just as all gun control laws fail. It’s too bad they’ll never acknowledge that.
