  1. I want to put my application in for the Florida CC. I have all the paperwork completed, and the firearms class complete. I just need to get fingerprinted (on paper card). I called my local PD, they told me they don't do that there. I'm not sure that they fully understood I just need the prints on the card, but...is there any where I can go (relatively inexpensive) that can do this pretty quickly? Thanks.
  2. Is that legal? I'm getting a pretty good deal, but if I can save some on shipping, it will be a better deal
  3. I'm buying a handgun from florida, the seller is shipping it from his ffl, to mine. his ffl said by law he has to overnight plus they add on transfer fee, and a handling fee (i was told right around $70) is that price right? i thought it would be around $25 to ship from one ffl to another. thanks.
  4. I was able to get gas in middlesex boro yesterday morning. I waited on line at 1 station for about 30 minutes only to be told (i was 1 car from the gas station at the time) that they didnt have enough gas for me, or the 30 cars behind me. I switched over to another line for another station, I had to wait close to a half hour, but was able to fill up. My father got gas last night in bound brook, he told me there were only 4 cars infront of him. My neighbor took a run up to exit 3 or rt 78 (forgot the town name). he said it was only a fifteen minute wait (on friday).
  5. I have an Android, so not sure if this is available for iphone, but I use and like Strelok Shooting Solutions.
  6. in total there are 16. one is an air gun, one is a black powder pistol, the rest are split between shotguns and black powder/center fire long guns.
  7. I think my biggest problem right now is, I don't know what most are worth. I think (if selling to a gun shop) 60% would be more then fair for both of us. the problem is.... do you reccommend me getting a gun price book, or should i just take them in to Lou's, the heritage guild etc, and see what they tell me?
  8. Where would a good place be to sell an entire long gun collection including center fires, black powder and shotguns? hypothetically speaking say someone aquires a deceased relatives firearms, but does not want to: a) keep them b)sell individually c)have strangers come to their house I am looking for a one stop buy what I have and not get ripped off shop. again hypothetically, there might be a 12ga Pietro Beretta Victoria, maybe a H.Weimauch (spelling) sports waffen, a EuroArms .58cal and a whole bunch more, but let me make myself very clear.....I am looking for a one stop buy ALL that I have and not get ripped off shop. I thought about going to the Heritage Guild in Rahway, but I have read a few "not so nice things" so now I am looking for plan B. Thanks.
  9. Just picked up a Glock from him today. Very easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. Thanks Chris, see you again (pretty soon)
  10. was raised in Bound Brook and have been to Effingers more times then I can count. The others a spot on. Effingers prices are not good at all. the selection is so/so, but on average prices are about $100 more on handguns then other local stores. As far as ammo being reasonable, yes they are as long as you don't mind shelling out almost $20 for a 50 count of Federal. Lou's is a pretty good shop Bullseye is also pretty good, not a huge selection on hand (but he's working on it) but prices are pretty darn good. I also like the fact that if Lou's or Bullseye does not have what you want in stock, they will be happy to order one for you, the only thing Effingers will order is more attitude from their "Salespeople"
  11. 1) KY intense 2) peanut butter 3) coloring book
  12. I just took a basic pistol class last week. i have been shooting on and off for the better part of 20 years and have firearms in the house. i have gone to the range with my wife on numerous occasions but she never felt fully comfortable and wanted to take (with me) the class. I/we usually shoot a 9mm and rent a .22 at the range, but with the class we were able to use and get familure with a 1911. i don't mind shooting a DAO, but i must admit the single action .45 was very easy to shoot. after watching my wife handle the 2 1911's i would not hesitate to recomend one, even as a first firearm. i would however recomend renting one prior to purchase.
  13. i grew up here, when i was 18 and knew it all i wanted a change of pace and headed south. the land of sun and palm trees ended up being mostly cows and oranges. i stayed there eleven years, but alas this hotel califorina we know as nj sucked me back in. i have thought about the old bridge club, but i dont have enough time to shoot yet to justify the cost of membership there.
  14. hello everyone, first time to this forum, but have been shooting for about 18 years. i lived in florida for a time and did most of my shooting there. around here i have not found a place that is convienent for me to get to (now that ray's is closed) i mostly mess around with 22's since they are so inexpensive to shoot, but i try to send a couple rounds of 9mm and .357sig down range from time to time.
