Barracks just called, my permits are in and ready to be picked up!!! I guess the lady i spoke to wasnt kidding, wish i remembered her name because i would be calling her from now on.... lol Just over 3 months for the process, which was still a month and half shorter than when i got my initial from Hamilton twp PD. Nowwww, what to buy......

I think the key is slow and steady and just hold the catch so it goes in straight, no chance of scratching the finish this way as long as you tape up the pliers.

I wouldnt go spending loads of money on HD stuff to use for target practice at the range. Get some regular old bulk fmj for range use and a couple hundred of HD stuff (HP). When looking for hollow point HD ammo i would highly recommend looking up TNOUTDOORS on youtube, he does ALOT of ammo testing of all calibers and is a great resource for picking good HD ammo.
