I have both lengths a 14.5" and 16". I believe the 16 will have slightly higher velocity than the 14.5" due to the longer barrel. People may say its not different but I believe it is even if its 100 fps. The mid length gas system will be softer than the shorter carbine length. Ymmv on if you feel it or not. I am planning on a third setup as an SPR 18" barrel for long range precision. It will have more fps than the 14.5 and 16. Personally I love the 14.5" just because its shorter and its my go to gun for all occasions and its dead on up to 300 yards. I'll give up some fps for better handling. But it's all preference It's up to you. I'll take that upper if you don't want it. I'll trade you for the 16" carbine with yhm medieval brake. Iihhtweight barrel

Does anyone want to bring in an EXTAR exp for me and remove that hand guard. It only takes two bolts. It's under the 50oz has a muzzle brake but has a remove able hand guard. Any ffls ok with this?

I grew up under the AR platform which is why when I found these impossible to find stock conversions I built It up with AR parts. True it maybe heavier than my 870 express which is the plain Jane one factory stock. It feels to flimsy and underbuilt compared to the 870 police magnum. The slide action kinda sucks actually. I don't mind the weight and love these to death. It would take a big amount of cash to part with either of these I know strictly use the iron sights for it. The eo tech now lives on one of my two new AR builds One can never have enough toys

Confirmed by Surefire. This will not work to make a 16" non nfa barrel. Dammit, I want a noveske barrel

RECOIL magazine had a muzzle brake buyers guide. I need to consult that for possible long brakes

Yup one of the first barrels available in a while. GOOD CALL Zerosignal. Plus I have a 14.7" built already and feel this noveske barrel will probably be more accurate also. I am hoping it works out for me. I've emailed noveske and Surefire.

I'm slowly collecting parts for a build The topic states the parts I want to use. Do I need to send these to an FFL or is it ok to ship to my house. This should end up more than 16" for legality but still worried if this will get me in trouble before the rifle is made

I've never had issues with the weight. 870 police models are heavier which I'm used to. I've gotten 3" groups with slugs offhand with these at 50 yards. Now my other 870 express feels like a feather but I don't like shooting it. I think the weight also helps reduce some recoil effects. I value your opinion and am not knocking it in any way. I also wasn't comfortable with the magpul setup. It was nice but not for me as I'm comfy with the AR style platform and short LOP. it's just me I suppose.
