  1. +1 All these "lists" are nothing but political moves by insane elected officials that don't actually do anything. And since they are not subject to the same oversight as criminal records are, you can get yourself on a list rather easily and find it near impossible to get off of it.
  2. Done... Surprising how the only close one was the universal background question. Or should I say universal gun registry.
  3. I thought beer was for breakfast... Glenmorangie single malt. Plain 'ol 10 y.o. One ingredient, no muss, no fuss, no full recycling can. Looking forward to a dram or three tonight...
  4. " My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it. "
  5. The rejiggered proposed bill: "which shall 33 include a 12.7 mm equivalent of 50 caliber or greater or any other 34 metric equivalent, or a copy or duplicate of any such weapon 35 regardless of caliber that is capable of firing a projectile that attains 36 a muzzle energy of 12,000 foot-pounds or greater in any 37 combination of bullet, propellant, case, or primer. The provisions 38 of this paragraph shall not apply to a smooth bore shotgun or rifle 39 barrel shotgun or any shotgun ammunition generally recognized as 40 suitable for sporting purposes in this State" Link to revised bill: http://www.njleg.sta...000/3659_R1.PDF I think you're right. I mistook to "or" for an "and" we may be screwed if this goes through the process without further changes, pork and concessions. We may be screwed anyway. The bothersome thing, on this very forum, is the subtle concession to this bill if it doesn't ban 12 ga rifled slug barrels. Loss of our liberty for one means loss of liberty for all. If they wanted to ban hunting, I'd be right there with you hunters protecting your rights. How about everyone does the same for the 50 cal? Just because they exempt the slug barrels DOES NOT MAKE IT OK. Or at least it shouldn't. Shall not be infringed, right? I am always under the assumption that this is a pro2a forum. If they make us turn on each other over the "it doesn't affect me" attitude then it's going to be tough. We must stand together.
  6. Douches. HAVE THEY NO SHAME? Did you finally get the doll?
  7. "When you see Indians, worry. When you don't see Indians, worry more"
  8. Hope you boys were going directly to the range when you got into the mishap in those submarines. Actually, that's a good question. If you get in an accident on the way to the range, would you have to tell LE that you had guns in the car? Or Coastie in the case of the submarine accident?
  9. These guys sounded pretty organized. Not random addicts looking to fence personal belonging for a hit. I'm with the drugs angle. Actually it may be a new growth market for enterprising oxy-heads.
  10. Oops, went on and on and forgot to post the link to the story: http://kdvr.com/2013/02/04/7-year-old-playing-an-imaginary-game-at-school-gets-suspended-for-real/
  11. This is from about a month ago. This time the kid was making believe he threw a bomb into a box filled with evil to save the world. Got suspended. In this new world that liberals are fashioning for our kids, where are they going to get kids to join the armed forces,...be cops...be first responders? If they brain wash our kids into thinking that any show of force is bad, who will charge up that hill in some far off land in the name of our country? Who will run towards danger when everyone else is running in the opposite direction? They don't have to forcibly disarm us. They are half way towards disarming the next generation without passing a single law. In some parts of Africa you get an AK for your 9th birthday. I know, extreme. In the US you get suspended in grammar school for throwing an imaginary grenade. Just as extreme. Where are we headed?
  12. On gun for hire radio, Anthony always plays a recording of Eric "Goebbels" Holder professing that "they have to brainwash" us into thinking differently about guns. This is it. Is there no one in this school district that can call this out as insanity? Can they stick together that vehemently? No one breaks ranks? That is what worries me. The group-think. There can be one crazy educator. But if they all follow along against common sense, then all hope is lost.
  13. +1 What if you see a 30 rd magazine at the range? Would you call 911 in case it's not permanently pinned? If it is, no big deal?!
  14. Well, like all other stories, the facts are probably not right. But... Since he didn't hurt himself, the glock was probably out of its holster. Why that was, as stated, is the prime question. In any event, this guy did not represent LE very well. But like the whack job out in Cali, we'll probably never hear the facts.
  15. Misfire? I think he fired just fine. Too bad it didn't actually misfire. Surprised they didn't bring up "assault clips" jeez, at least get the words right. And another thing, that parent is complaining that putting a RO in the school was "knee-jerk" wtf? Ny passed a bunch of insane LAWS in 48 hours that won't do a thing to make his kids safer. That's knee-jerk, jerk. Unf'ingbelievable
  16. Hot soapy water and some oven cleaner. Remove stock/grips first. Can't tell you how many nice grips I ruined cleaning the pistols.

  18. The proposed legislation was changed to include a "muzzle energy" descriptor of 12,000ft/lbs. or greater. Basically only the 50 BMG is considered a destructive device by that reckoning. The Beowulf does not fit that descriptor by a long shot. This was beaten to death on another thread. IMHO The 50 bans at ranges are for the BMG. I've seen SOCOMs and Beowulfs on the 100 yd line at CR.
  19. Absolutely. On opening day hope springs eternal. The atmosphere is electric. Like first home playoff game in October. Oops sorry. /kidding
  20. A friend sent me this video of Bush throwing out the first pitch in the 3rd game of the world series at Yankee stadium right after 9/11. I was at that game and I've haven't seen the video in awhile and my reaction to it surprised me. Regardless of your feelings of the Yankees or Dubya, we felt like a united country. Not this contentious, divided and self-loathing bunch we are now. I couldn't imagine the incumbent in this position. Although I maybe the victim of emotional manipulation by a political machine--having been at that game, and seeing it again...I remember a distinctively different feeling about my government. The video: http://stg.do/ZRVc Also another baseball/patriotic video I haven't seen in a long while from 1976 when LA Dodger Rick Monday snatches a flag away from assholes trying to burn it: http://agencypages.net/AgencyPages/11-52/ I guess with opening day a couple of weeks away, I get misty easily...
