I'm thinking about buying an O/U in the next couple of months. Would anyone bring one on Sunday and be willing to let me try it? -

Hey guys, Never shot clays before, and only shot a shotgun once, while taking an intro class. Wife never used a shotgun before. I have a Mossberg 590 (never used), and will buy ammo and clays. Can we join you? -
NJ FID application data collection effort
mimold replied to nott's topic in New Firearms Owners Corner
1. Change of address FID for me, initial FID for my wife. Three handgun permits each. 2. Glen Ridge Police Department 3. Detective Mike Medico 4. 7 weeks 5. No extra documents were required 6. Detective Medico was very professional and moved very fast. He told us when we dropped the applications the process would take 1.5 - 2 months, and I almost didn't believe him, considering that my original FID took 6 months (Harrison PD). -

Change of address FID and 3 permits for me, and new FID and 3 permits for my wife. Dropped application on 12/11, was told would take 1.5 - 2 months. Received letter from Glen Ridge PD they're ready for pick-up on 2/1. The detective who handled the case was very professional, and moved very fast. I dropped the application on a Friday afternoon, my references got phone calls the next Monday morning. Much, much faster than my initial FID, which took 6 months (that one was handled by Harrison PD). -
Thanks. Yes, it has the decocker and also the safety (I guess that's where the S in P30S comes from). It really feels very comfortable, both for me and for my wife. I know Caso's have some in stock with prices starting at $969 (and only 3.5% tax), but their schedule (open until 6 pm) wasn't good for me.

$1030 plus tax, plus NICS, total around $1120.

It's in 9 mm. I was there after 7.30 pm, with my wife. If you were in the store at that time, then nice to almost meet you :-)

Hey guys, Just bought my first handgun, an HK P30S. Got it at Ottomanelli's and had a great experience there, very nice and knowledgeable guys. Really looking forward to start testing it at the GFH range. Time to finally start using the membership I got a few months ago :-)

NJ FID/PP Compliancy Project
mimold replied to Maksim's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Applied on 1/29 for initial FID and one p2p, got a call on 8/14 that they're ready. Both were signed by the Chief of Police on 8/1, so it took two extra weeks to get them in my hands. This was in Harrison, NJ. -
NJ FID application data collection effort

1. Application type (FID/permit w/ existing FID). Initial FID and 1 Handgun purchase permit 2. Police Department where you applied. Harrison PD {Harrison, NJ} 3. Name of the person you dealt with at the PD. Sergeant David Strumolo 4. Time taken to issue FID and/or permit. Submitted on January 29 2013, fingerprints taken on February 5 2013, FID and permit received on August 15 2013. 5. Documents required by the PD (aside from the standard application and the mental health release form). Two reference letters 6. Notes - anything pertaining to the application process (unforeseen difficulties, chief of police calling your home, you hiring an attorney, etc.). None, except for the relatively long time it took. The reference letters were handed to me by my references, and I submitted them myself to the PD two days after I submitted my application (January 31 2013). Sergeant Strumolo was very nice and apologized for the delay. -
@Cobalt: Thanks, I might take you up on that :-) @gunforhire An extension sounds good, thank you. How should I contact you about this issue?
-
Well, this really sucks and I truely think you should have mentioned these conditions from the beginning. As someone who's been waiting for the FID for 4 months now, with no idea when I will actually get it, I got the gold membership specifically for being able to go to the range, rent a gun, and do some shooting. Now you're telling me that not only do I have to have an FID card, but I also have to bring someone with me. Not cool, man!

Hi all, Can someone clarify what this means (found it here)? "All male renters who are not accompanied by someone will NOT be allowed to rent firearm’s. NO exceptions." Does this mean that if I go to the range by myself I won't be able to rent a gun? I really don't understand the reasoning here.
