  1. You can shoot shotguns there, only slugs, and up to .223/5.56, and yes it has to be frangible. They sell it for $18 for 20 rounds. I will shoot pistol there, but never shoot my AR there unless I find a deal on frangible somewhere else. Can you shoot steel case at BA?
  2. Moss pawn just did a video on this comparison: I love those guys http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d3LYyIFMQ5U
  3. Never been to shooters, but a buddy of mine said its a great place. I've been to both SS and brick, a prefer SS. A few reasons why: inventory at SS is by far better, handgun cases are full, rifle rack is full. The range officers at SS are on top of newbies Brick armory has almost no handgun stock. Their range is a bit nicer than SS and they do have storage area in the back, which is great. Shore shot 225 yearly membership: pistol and AR can be used, must shoot frangible ammo, and must be brass cased Brick was 350 for pistol and rifle, not sure of pistol only membership rates, and can shoot up to .30 cal no special frangible required. The lack of inventory is the main reason I stay at SS

    308 or 30-06

You said you'd use it for long range and hunting, ever thought of the .270 win? I love the flat shooting trajectory, and like the 30-06, the ammo is easy to find.
  5. That's what I was thinking. Can't handle these draconian laws
  6. Another quick question..... So I am pretty sure I need a new tube... Would it be legal to have the magpul fixed carbine stock on when I am in the state on Nj and a collapsable stock on out of state? I mean, as long as the collapsable isn't on the gun is it legal to possess in NJ?
  7. Is the rifle any shorter with the magpul fixedStock on there? I'm only looking for a little shorter
  8. Upon further inspection, looks like it's pinned from one side, so using a punch to get it out might be a no go.
  9. Seems like easy installation, no drilling. I'm pretty sure a punch and a mallet will get the pin out too. No reason to change the buffer right?
  10. Bolted with screw? Set screw? It's def. a mil- spec tube
  11. Basically looks like this photo. I do believe I can see the pin, and think with a set of punches, can get it out. I wouldn't feel comfortable drilling new holes. Would the magpul fixed stock be able to slide on the old buffer tube?
  12. It's the "stock"stock, cheap collapsable look a like. It's an entry level gun, I don't wanna really put much money into it. I can find the magpul moe carbine fixed stock for under 50, that's about all I want to go into it further.
  13. About a month ago, I posted a thread about buying or building and AR, and after coming across a great vendor deal, I purchased an Mp15 sport model from remixer for under 600.... Thanks again Steve! Took it to a range last weekend, and loved the gun with one exception, the pinned legal stock is too long for me. I'm 5'10, but have worked out a lot in the past and have a pretty large chest ( not bragging) and the length of the firearm isn't perfect for me. I know collapsible stocks are a no no in this great republic, and have been looking for alternatives. I like Magpuls look, quality and price. A local shop had the MOE fixed carbine stock in stock and almost bought it but..... I'm a newb, and am not that handy. I mean I striped my glocks all the way down to clean them, but again a monkey can do that. Would that be a product I could install myself with minimal work? Minimal tools? Would I need a new buffer tube? Would I be able to get the old stock off that's pinned? Is it even legal to do this myself. I'm kinda in a time crunch now too. I am going out of town this weekend to the south, and will be bringing it with me, gonna really test it out at a real range down in NC and would love for it to "feel" better.
  14. Well, since I started this debate let me update everyone.... I picked up an Mp sport model from remixer last week. His price of under 600 was too good to pass up. Hope I have time to go her out this weekend.

    Glock 19Gen4

I always use glock minus connector with gen 3 smooth trigger. I found this makes for a great glock trigger
  16. I went out on Friday for some shopping and errands and stopped at DSG, East Brunswick. I don't carry my FID in my wallet, it doesn't seem to fit, and don't want it getting damaged. I went into the store, and between my father in law and I, we scored 12 boxes of the cheap 5.56 ammo. No FID required. I asked for a box of the 22 that was on sale and was denied. They require an FID for 22lr. Guess I should start carrying my FID in my Walter rather than my range bag. Another DSG story, this time Freehold. I went to get some 9mm, still in stock last night at 730pm, not sale price, but regular price of 14.99. A man wanted to buy a shotgun that was on sale only Thursday through Saturday. The sale ended last night. Of course, NICS was closed, so no sale. The man asked, "will it be on sale on Monday." Salesman said "no." I asked the salesman if they could sell the man the shotgun and simply just run the NICS on Monday, salesman looked at me like I was crazy and said "that's illegal!" I asked why it was allowed on Thursday night for Black Friday sales, and not last night for this guy, and he said Thursday was a "special exception". I can't take their BS.
  17. Got my wife the Cannon Rebel t3i, my parents a 60 inch Samsung LED, got myself a mp15 sport from remixer and 24 boxes of 5.56 from dicks. Decent day out.
  18. I'll be going over to Monmouth Arms tonight to pick mine up! Thanks for the service Steve!
  19. As of 1pm, east brunswick dicks had plenty of 5.56 for 6.98, and plenty of the golden bullets for 19.98
  20. Welcome! I'm in middlesex county too... What town are you located?
  21. I sent you and email and left you a message, great deals, give me a shout
  22. Saw the sale this morning, sent him a reply right away. Also left him a voicemail, waiting to hear back from him.
  23. That's about all the tools I have.
  24. Thanks for the input guys. Problem is: I don't know what I want! I have no opinion, just want something for fun, and quality at the same time. And try not to break the bank, a vendor on here has a sport model for 650. I know I can't build one for that. Somewhat mechanically inclined, tools would be an issue.
  25. I appreciate the info, and it appears we live in the same town. It all seems too overwhelming to make the choices. Only thing I would change is the front hand rail. I know the sport doesn't have dust cover or forward assist, but they aren't deal breaks for me. Mp15 ORC might also be a contender because I can find it for 100 more, and it has the dust cover and forward assist.
