  1. If someone previously resident in NJ becomes an out of state resident while keeping a secondary residence in NJ, can she/he continue to store the firearms he previously acquired as NJFIC holder in the NJ secondary residence? Thanks to whom can help address the question. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
  2. Looks great - but if you have enough parts to stay 922R compliant without US made furniture, you can also put in original Russian furniture (usually on AKfiles) with good results. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bula JRA M14 - NJ legal?

For anybody who maybe interested, Classic emailed back and those are indeed marked M14 on receiver so it's a no-go. Another great deal which NJ state residents cannot get.
  4. G1s rifles these days are a rare find, especially with an original barrel. You may have better luck buying a kit (anything north of $700 without barrel), a receiver ( Coonan still sell G1 marked receivers and offers custom serial to match your kit, but they will stop at year end), an Argentine lugged barrel (The original FN which were on the G1s are $350+) , and finally asking a good builder to assembly and finish the rifle for you (unless you want to do it yourself). The whole thing will cost you $1500 plus - but will really be worth it.

Bula JRA M14 - NJ legal?

I have a SAI scout M1A too and had not issues... but the quality of Bula forged parts is definitely better. The price point (so close to a SAI) makes this a great deal. i will have to call Classic on Monday to ask about the receiver markings - Bula usually do not mark them M14. That said, an AR180 is on the banned list but an AR180B is legal.... same would apply to anything different than M14 (including “M14F”).
  6. Classic has back in stock the JRA built rifles on Bula parts... A great deal if you are into M14’s and want USGI quality instead of SAI cast receivers and parts. I wonder if they could be NJ legal - depending on what the receiver markings are (is “M14s” acceptable?) and if the lugged F/H can be replaced with a neutered one (or lug ears filed). https://www.classicfirearms.com/m14-rifle-new-semi-auto-walnut-stock-bula-parts-jra?utm_source=instock&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=product_alert_email
  7. DSA and Imbel are 100 %fine... Come shoot at ANJRPC - 100yds and 200yds are the best to enjoy FALs.
  8. I suggest you and WTF consider a refinish job by Matt Downs of Brimstone arms... he’s an artist Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Now I see the picture (was hard to see the rifle in the first one) - what are the odds that CE would have two of the same kind, and would sell to two NJ buyers who end up chatting on the same thread... I am 100% positive the one in the first picture you posted (with CE's purple shoe) is the L1A1 I bought from him- that is the picture he had on the sale thread. If you look carefully there are three marks on the right side of the stock which is exactly how I got it originally. I was not mistaken, neither I mistook a L1A1 with a STG - hence my reaction. Anyway I am glad things got clarified, hopefully we'll meet one day to shoot them.
  11. I hoped you would go quiet and spare yourself further embarrassment, but you question my integrity and judgement instead so let’s bring some facts to the table. Here is a link of the thread of Falfiles marketplace where the rifle was sold to me (post # 26): http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=408806 Here is how the rifle looks today after being refinished, fake hider pinned and grip replaced: and here is the old grip by the way... Perhaps you can also post a picture of ‘your’ rifle? (instead of your computer screens) I am not trying to pick a fight online but a prerequisite for a good forum is honest behavior.. your motives are rather innocent (you are bragging about something you don’t own, not trying to sell it) but the principle is the same. Enough said, I will let others judge - and I have a day of work ahead of me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. You may have a similar rifle but that is not yours I am afraid. That rifle belonged to FALFILES member CE who took the picture and posted it for sale last December. I know well because I bought it and had it redone by Brimstone Arms. Thanks for posting the info to the benefit of other members here. I have been on FALFILES a while and have a few clones built on Imbel and DSA receivers by reputable builders such as ARS, Randy Klyne and Brimstone Arms - as well as a few DSA factory builds. I was just looking for genuine FAL lovers whom to go shooting with.
  13. Well, I know who was wearing that shoe and who has that rifle now...and neither is you. Not sure if you posted the picture as a reference or..?
  14. I have a general weakness for Cold-war era battle rifles, including FN49s, BM59s, M14s, G3s, HK93s, Galils....but especially historical FALs given the many diverse variants built. I am obviously speaking perfectly legal clones. Due to lack of time and equipment I never ventured into building one - possibly also because I could not stand screwing up the first couple of them while I learn. If anybody in the Northern NJ area shares the same FAL-passion please let me know....

I see Sarco has the 30.06 bolt in stock and I will get one. I must check if the carrier has the slot for FPSS - if I recall well it does. Rifle came already with a two-piece FP. The question is head spacing - who could check it and where to find locking shoulders if it does not.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes all parts are matching, and no serial on the other side. I guess they started to out it there when installing the scope rail. Stock is not numbered. I must admit I did not realize brass disc was not original - but at least the screw looks like the original one! I haven’t shot it yet , I am a bit nervous because of lack of pin safety on these. Interestingly the brass disc has the inscription ‘Egyptian Army’ in arabic but also other arabic signs/numbers. I do not know how the Bren disc looks like but I believe only the inscription was on the disc of FN49s. The buttplate looks original. As expected for an early contract (if my translation from arabic is not wrong serial number is 1387) there is no scope rail left of the receiver. Anybody who had better info please let me know.... Agree that FTF gives certainty of what you are buying, however it won't be easy to stumble upon a FN49 in a shop these days. Gunboards are your best bet - and gunbroker is not too bad if you ask the right questions ands get the seller to send you pics. Stay away from Armslist unless is a local FTF transaction....
  21. My PD has always been helpful and processed in record time, no fingerprinting - only the online background check and two people they can send request for information to. But yes it is a pain - which is an additional reason why I collected more rifle than handguns.....
  22. That's a great hint thank you! i was thinking of RTSP prices but they seem way more reasonable (e.g. $159 /month for 20 rifles). And a more flexible option than buying a property.
  23. yes providing we do not end up with a SAFE act in NJ....or something worse.
  24. Bucks county would be first choice as it is just over the border. Also thinking of the advantage of a townhouse unit vs. isolated property - safer and easier to rent the day I change my plans.
  25. Collection is too large to go with storage option. I would rather buy a place, build a gun room, equip it with good alarm systems and use it for outdoor weekends. PA Residency would obviously be great but I am not sure if you need to prove you are actually spending enough time there.
