  1. It has been for a few years, as has the soft pellet guns. Spring action with rubber pellets. Also, try going outside with a toy gun without the color orange on the barrel. It's friggin' nuts.
  2. Do the references provided need to be NH residents?
  3. Which leads me to my next question: Last year I sailed through at the Somerville Baracks. The web site said I could use the nearest Barracks and that was nearest to my work. This year they refused sending me to Kingswood Barracks. Not exactly around the corner. Since they require all things to be done during business hours, it costs me work time. Their answer to that was if you don't have the time you shouldn't have applied. So, does anyone know of a Barracks that will take any NJ resident that does not have a police department? I'd rather drive twice as far and get it sooner and with some semblance of respect and not looked at as if I'm from ISIS.
  4. Zeke, how good is the info on this "excuse"? I too have been waiting too long with the State Police. A different Barracks last year came across by now.
  5. I asked the same question. The response was "because we don't know what you've been up to since the last time". This response was from an officer that can get my complete back ground from a walkie-talkie when he pulls me over on the side of the road and from the same officer that is giving me a piece of paper for the FFL to run another check. Go figure....
  6. In your research you might want to know, I have to use the State Police. The policies from Barracks to Barracks differ greatly. Last year I got my FID at the Somerville Barracks in 3 weeks and with respect. This time I was directed to the Kingswood Barracks and I'm entering my 3rd week without a number for the fingerprint appointment. If you contact them in any way you get your head bit off. Also it doesn't matter what their web site says they do what they want when you get there.
  7. In your research I thought you might want to know, I have to use State Police. Although the paper work is the same the polices vary from barracks to barracks. At one Barracks (Somerville) I got it all rapped up in 3 weeks and with respect. At Kingswood I'm on my 3rd week without any word or finger print number and you can't ask any questions without your head getting bit off. And forget about what their website says, they do what they want when you get there.
  8. You also need to check local noise ordinances. It one that they sometimes use as a loop hole.
  9. This creates a black market for ammo. Like anything else "these people" do the good get punished and the bad just find another way.
