  1. I went for EZ and got the BX (Burger King) trigger for my 10/22. Certainly ez to install but you could drop another pin by accident so good to know which are which. It also solved a sticky bolt release which is tricky enough to get to anytime. So I go to the range this am for a heat and humidity treatment and to try the new triggers I installed in my 10/22 and SW V. I shot the SW Victory first then after a bit the 10/22 rifle. I picked it up safely and readied, and pushed the safety in, then lowered my finger onto the trigger and BOOM! Wow, that was quick and light. That's nice is all I can say. Did it make me shoot any better. Only time will tell. So many other factors like my scope creeping off the base, which is enough to blow your mind while in between shots.
  2. Hegberts is an excellent buyer. New what he wanted and was prepared for the deal. Was prompt, communited fully, followed through and hope he enjoys our deal. I would do business with him again. Thank you!

Was a pleasure dealing with Tom

  3. I did end up selling my 44 here on the forum. Thanks for all the info about this and I hope I offered a great deal. Hegberts is a good buyer. Thank you!
  4. The bolt (oops, I meant the mag) release mechanism does seem to have a bit of a problem (other than the usual getting used to) so many the replacement could be the easiest, but the custom workers recommended could probably clear that us as well. Going to do it, so much thanks to all.
  5. I saw this BK replacement assembly for the Ruger 10/22 at Cabela's and online for $56 +. Just pull out 2 pins and the old assemble and slide in the new assembly to get the trigger pull down to 3lbs. But does it make and difference for the causal shooter?
  6. I saw a video regarding the 10/22 and it said to keep this area dry and that it doesn't need lubrication. It just grabs the blowback. I can see it because I wouldn't take this area apart for every cleaning. ? I wonder how this applies on the same area for an AR or SW22 V?
  7. I've bought several bricks during the shortage. The ones in the first brick are dirty right in the box, like the coating tarnished. I'll wipe down a 100 at a time when I go to the range. The other bricks from that same time frame look fine. When I go, I'll shoot hundreds so the gun needs cleaning anyway. But you have to wipe the bolt face often if you don't want too many jams.
  8. Local prices for 100 CCI 22LR are $10.99. So I took a trip to the Christiana Cabela's for 10 CCI boxes at $8.99. Its an excuse but the $20 savings paid for the trip and it was fun.
  9. I still don't see these back in stock in stores as yet. I was at the Christiana Cabela's yesterday and been checking locally. Glad I got the last SW 22 Victory my local shop had because those seem to be selling off instead.
  10. I have the basic model. Hard to get perfect. The slide feels like its floppying around and not expensively machined, and one I had 25 years ago seemed tighter. I would like a nice stainless model but I don't know if the slide itself or the action is any better. One alternate I added is the Henry Lever action base model for $100 more. Fun and accurate enough. I could be a bit more accurate because of the bolt or length. I don't know. But since they I have learned about the drastic ammo differences.
  11. I did become a paid member and posted the 44 629 in the sales section as a 'special deal.' Hope that's ok to say that here. Thanks all for the advice. Someone's going to luck out.
  12. A person already has their NJ FID card and waiting for a pistol permit and buys a rifle correctly through a store with the NIC check. Would that interfere as a double NIC check w/in 30days if the pistol permit comes in shortly after and they are ready to purchase? Just wondering if anyone ever had a issue..
  13. Yet another update is I found on my gun it has a metal spring rod as opposed to a polymer rod shown in 22plinksters first review. I'm also told the takedown screw is improved and bigger and mine had a little red locktite on the threads to keep it snug and in place.
  14. Ok, tried mine out today at 25 yards. 200+ mixed rounds and really not that dirty. 100 round box of mini-mags and not a single problem. First shots easily within a 5 in group on my 10 inch target. I shot and looked through my binoculars. Shot again aiming lower and the same nice group closer to the center. So adjusted the elevation the wrong way of course (doah!) so wasting ammo/time trying to get it back in the target zone. (Hint: Only adjust one click at a time.) Before you know it, that was 100rds of my CCI-Mags - but with no glitches at all. So now I had to use some mixed cheaper ammo. No good. Jams right off the bat. I could feel the power drop and a weaker slide action. Adjusted the sites again to follow the cheaper ammo brands but that was a big mistake. Fed Target lead was terrible and too light. Just couldn't activate the slide. Campion lead did a little better and I could feel more power. I emptied some box magazines to use their coated bullets and they were a little better but I forget the brand. I have CCI LR as yet to try. (Hoarded cheap ammo maybe wasn't the best deal after all.) Dealer told me don't bother with stingers. They are too hot for the slider and not as accurate. Shooting was acceptable at 25 yards with the good ammo - and all over the place with the cheap ammo. I have a lot of work to accurately sight it in the CCI-Mag ammo and keep it as my base setting. In the sun those fiber optic sites shined brightly and it was a really positive big aid, but at 25 yards under the covered bench the front site was much darker so a hard job to see and line up. My eyes were getting tired too. Walking forward tests to 10 yards accuracy was good with any ammo. At 15 yards it was still good. At 20 yards the cheap ammo group was getting larger and I couldn't tell where they were hitting. From the covered bench at 25yds, I couldn't keep track of the cheap ammo hits at all. By now there were 200 plus holes in all my targets. Time to call it a day. So I still have a lot of work to site it in at 25 yards with one good ammo like the CCI-Mags. What did I think about the gun. Heck yeah I'm impressed with it and the price. I could have walked over to the short range but I don't feel its challenge with this gun.
  15. I did get the new permit and bought the SW22 Victory.
  16. I Took the plunge and got the SW22 V. Put my permit in about 2.5 weeks ago and originally looking at the expensive line of Mark IVs. After some consideration I was liking the basic Buckmark. But now with the Mark IVs off the table for awhile, I went for the SW22V. Actual cost was $409. Available in PA at Cabelas for $360 but with the FFL and checks, I got it local which always seems to help. Popped the screw, took it apart, dabbed some oil, readied a range of ammo including some mini-mags and tomorrow I get to shoot it. Looking at all the videos and even holding in the store didn't really sink in how solid this gun is. Its got some weight. Sights are fine and after a few hundred rounds or more, I'll consider the trigger upgrade and guide rod replacement if having too much misleads.
  17. I was thinking the basic $350 buckmark, but now that I've held and seen the V close up I'm more impressed. Grip is a little small at the bottom, but for $400 with the high visibility sights is not bad. And I like the SS models.
  18. I went to the local shop just the other day looking at the buck and then the S&W. The S&W was really good for the price. Then I realized I haven't been seeing the Mark IVs. They said they sent them back for the recall. So, none in the shop right now. Lets just hope its a quick permanent fix and no other issues.
  19. Well, I just cleaned up said 44 and boy does it look good. So I'm trying to decide a fair price for a fast sale as my new P2P will be here before I know it and I'll post it then. It will be one of those 'Catch a break' deals you mentioned Pizza Bob. Would come with about a box of shells and 2 speed loaders.
  20. Haven't had the Mark IV with the long barrel in my hand yet, but I did get a chance to pick up the long barrel Buckmark and it didn't feel balanced in my hand. I think I may be happy with the 5.5 inch bull barrel choice I used to have. I also saw a Buck Lite with the steel barrel insert set into the aluminum bull barrel but I wasn't sure of the point of this, as it seems the real barrel is only the skinny steel insert and rest doesn't have function. Also with all the talk and looking at the S&W and expensive Mark IV models, I noted the basic buck is only $350.
  21. Anyone have any feelings about the accuracy of the IV lite with the shorter thin barrel? I had a bull barrel 15 years ago and I liked it at 25 yards+ and it was spot on, always my shooting that differed. I see this new lite has a shorter 4.5" barrel and its super thin. Now I'm not a great shooter but from the videos, I don't think its as accurate as the bull barrel or fluted 6" hunting barrel. (of course all the other features of the IV are fantastic). So do I got with the cool lite because its cool, or the full heavy barrels to shoot better?
  22. Is it a problem to sell left over ammo in a hand gun sale as part of the package or even mention it in the ad? Thanks, Tom
  23. I've had a S&W 44M SS 6.5in for 20+ years and I didn't realize what an investment it was until I looked up current sale prices. I guess it depends on the gun so I'm glad I got that one. Are they all up in value that much?
  24. Hi Was a member a long time ago. Retired now. Getting some interest back again. Do occassional fun shooting, keeping my hunting license up. A newbie friend is sparking my interest again. May sell one to buy something new. That sort of thing. Tom
