  1. Except for Constructive procession of parts required to assemble an “assault weapon” and our laws governing manufacturing of a firearm in this state is very different than other. No 80% here they’re illegal etc.
  2. So the real question will become does proof of purchase now, justify a search warrant of ones home in the future?
  3. Thanks you. We’re searching for a law that specifically says it’s okay. Last I checked that’s not how law works. Everything is legal till it’s not. So if there is no law than it’s legal until they create laws that say it isn’t. Only thing is technically while building one you will be in possession of parts needed to assemble a “assault weapon” , but building a NJ complaint AR you run the same risk, hasn’t stop many from doing so. I also understand the paranoia. Idk how rich all you guys are, but I don’t have tens of thousands to fight the states unlimited funds. Especially with our leaders right now Murphy and our AG are clearly not gun friendly. I bet they’d love to set an example of someone.
  4. This is the real reason. Being able to track these weapons in the underlying issue I bet. They don’t want to open up the vacuum.
  5. It’s definitely on the list. That’s why it makes me wonder how legit this list is? But again the citizen is at their own peril when it comes to gun laws in NJ. I guess it only matters when it does like when your in front of a jury looking at some time. Sorry just got called my buddy he sent me a pic of the Colt it’s not engraved AR-15 like he stated it was. Apologizes.
  6. Obviously I’m not attmepting to not hold my self accountable at all. I’m was just speaking in general terms. Why would one assume a weapon up on display for sale in a local FFL is illegal. My personal belief about the whole “reasonably Identical Clause” its not legal and wouldn’t stand up in court but is left up as a deterrent to us. (Not a rich man wouldn’t want to find out) but seeing as Arsenal’s, WASR, Colt ARs, all the others that get sold once neutered.( No longer reasonable Identical) Correct me if I’m wrong. Hell my buddy just picked up a Colt it literally says AR-15 on it. Dealer had no issue transferring once compliance work was done. Is that rifle illegal? I apologize if I come off as combative I’m not attmepting to be. I just know many on here are better informed and in the know than I am and I like to fully understand and grasp this craziness that we call NJ firearm laws.
  7. Wasn’t trying to be funny, maybe I missed it but from my perspective if I walked into a local gun shop and purchased a weapon from them. Even how private party sales are done here now. I’m not buying the weapon from the other private party. That weapon was logged into the dealer books and than transferred to me. So technically speaking the dealer sold it to me. ( had a dealer say to me after I paid a private party for a sale and the guy left while waiting for NICS that if I dropped dead or left and couldn’t be found that’s his weapon now) Legally how could i be found at fault if the weapon they transferred me was illegal. Wouldn’t that liability fall on the dealer especially in a state like NJ.
  8. If dealers are selling it why would anyone ask the state. I guess Stockholm syndrome runs deep Here. Now say one does purchase such a device and than nj throws the ban hammer at it. What happens than, exempt, or do they start sending NJSP to round them up ? What played out with the M1 that was before my time?
  9. I know it’s not you. I’m just trying to understand it from a legal standpoint. If I built it using the same parts etc. but this is NJ and I’m okay with having to buy a completed one. Was eyeing your guys stuff couldn’t justify another AR, but this thing in 9mm. Sign me up
  10. Why wouldn’t they state that to the general public ? Are they attmepting to set people up to fail? Because if I wasn’t a member here and saw these in local FFL for sale, asked questions about how they’re legal. I’d assume I could build one thinking I’m g2g.
  11. Modern Materiel is they’re a wait list for these or pre orders etc ?
  12. I just looked over all my receiver transfers and all the actions are marked “semi” also. (not going to throw the FFL under the bus just yet)
  13. This, I can easily articulate why this weapon is legal, but honestly knowing a lot of cops (family and friends). I’m more versed in basic law and case law than most of them, and that’s where the problem would start. You ever attempt to tell a cop he’s wrong even when they are it’s not a worth while venture. (Not an attempt to bash any LEOs) Just stating first hand experiences.
  14. I apologize because I was unsure of how a receiver was transferred. I asked that question earlier in this thread and the only response agreed with me, being transferd as a rifle. I agree with you. I believe the innovation of the gun industry, by forcing them to legally define these types of products individually was able to force their hand so to speak.
  15. Would Need to have a receiver transferred as a “firearm” if you did this to an already purchased receiver it’s most likely labled rifle per NJSP and the transfer forums.(You’d definitely run into some legal issues) Read through the comments I mentioned this previously. Unless your advocating law breaking, and at that point I say fuck it and just build an SBR if your feeling frogy.
  16. Yeah sorry I definitely used the wrong terminology, but I believe you guys understood what I was attempting to ask. I feel like many others do and if this is legal as we speak. Our good friends in Trenton are probably already drafting the law to make sure it soon isn’t.
  17. So in theory, this thing could have a normal removable muzzle device? and adjustable stock? Considering it’s no longer designated as a rifle do the “evil feathers” no longer have a role ?
  18. I think you’re referring to that they were saying there’s were pistols with the pistol brace. You can’t pull that in NJ because of our overall weight non sense. So isn’t this new to everyone around the NFA sbr tax stamp?
  19. That’s exactly what I was thinking. Maybe one of the FFLs in here will be more help answering that ?
  20. Okay so now the real question is how does one get a receiver transferred to themselves labeled “firearm”. Last I check receiver in nj only transfer as rifles I thought.
  21. I love the mag release, but it always messes me up real good switching guns after shooting it
  22. VP9 is the full sized model I believe the vp9sk is there smaller version. You can’t really go wrong like the others have stated, it really comes down to personal preferences and how well you shoot each one basically.
  23. I have an m&p9 not the 2.0, it was my favorite until I got my hands on a H&K VP9 now that has become my favorite.
  24. I’d give the other members here a price range on what you’re willing to spend to help narrow it down. I’d recommend a full size 9mm handgun. M&P9, H&K VP9, Glock17. I’d also recommend hitting a local gun shop/ range that has a decent inventory and handle the guns and shoot them before you put down money and your p2p purchasing one.
  25. I gave him a padded psa box, he gave me when I bought one of his rifles.
