  1. Additional guns - call the court or call NJSP? I have two I would like to add.
  2. Any timeframe given now will be skewed by the fact that the process is somewhat settling down. Early applicants faced delays as this was entirely new for many courts and PDs.
  3. What town? it may have been sent by mistake to NJSP in Trenton. The court was told to send permits there (for NJSP applicants). They send them in batches so it may have gotten mixed up. This whole paper process is ripe for this kind of thing. Hopefully FARS will fix it.
  4. I didn’t. They have on their website that they shipped issuing to out of state residents.
  5. Picked mine up. It has an issue date of mid august. I could have been carrying for half of summer…
  6. In MA you need a carry permit to purchase a pistol. Pre Bruen it used to come with restrictions for target and hunting. Just like NY.
  7. Applied to York PA now that I have my NJ PTC in hand. I live in Sussex and ShopRite moved from montague to Matamoras so I’m in PA very often. Unfortunately all the nearby counties said they aren’t doing NR permits so it’s a 3 hour drive.
  8. That’s true. I do want to still qualify so I am 100% covered just in case I ever have to use it.
  9. None other than the gun. None other than the gun, must carry order.
  10. Permit issued. #28 in the county. The NJSP Sgt at the Sussex station was helpful and clearly did not want to be an impediment to this process. The court on the other hand stumbled a bit, but this seems more like a staffing issue. The order was one page and had no restrictions other than the gun. The permit is stale dated to August which is a mild annoyance but it does let me know that I need to start renewing this in May-June of 2024.
  11. Permit received. NJSP Sussex, backdated 2 flipping months! So I guess I’m renewing early.
  12. No grumbling here… I’ve been fighting with lawyers and my local state assembly and senate reps at my side and getting results. You can continue to “STFU and wait your turn.”
  13. Yes one guy from Maryland had to appear in court a couple of days ago. Permit was issued but it has to percolate back through NJSP.
  14. Just a note about those going through NJSP - the barracks told me that the permit has to go back to FIU from the court and then back to the barracks. No idea why other than they want to examine it and add to their records. Either way this does add some delay and potential for cock-ups like they did with Mr Stu’s permit. Still waiting. Any day now.
  15. The thing I hate about ethanol gas the most is that they use corn. They use corn because that’s what American farmers know how to grow best. And in doing so it drives up the price of food for us AND uses more diesel fuel to farm all that corn.
  16. Updates: I’ve asked LD24 office to assist me with this and hopefully push for reform with the process so the courts aren’t slowing it down. NJSP barracks has been great. The courts not so much. My permit was issued but was sent to the barracks. However FIU said they need to get it first. So it’s taking a trip down to Trenton first and then will be sent back to the barracks. I really hope they didn’t put issue date on this permit as august because that would be 2 months already wasted. Meanwhile people from out of state are jumping through the hoops when they hardly ever come to NJ. Why? You’re going to have to do this every 2 years, which is a waste. Push for national reciprocity instead.
  17. E10 gas has been around since forever. It does have negative effects on engines but more pronounced in small engines. E15 is being rolled out but on a voluntary basis through incentives. But this pre-dates Biden by a good long time. E15 is not recommended for older cars (<2001 model year) or small engines like lawn mowers. It corrodes because it has more moisture content. Ethanol is hygroscopic meaning it attracts moisture. It also damages seals and gaskets. But newer vehicles can cope just fine. You’re likely to lose a transmission long before you lose an engine due to ethanol. www.pure-gas.org has a list of places selling ethanol free gas. Most are small airports and marinas.
  18. Apparently they’re also going to ban exports of gasoline too.
  19. You’re referring to public schools. Private schools are an entirely different matter. What if you train people in a small business? Is there a definition of educational institutes? It seems open ended.
  20. The schools restriction goes beyond the statute. What if you have written permission of the governing officer?
  21. Another bill is coming. Probably first in the nation? California requires a psych eval for carry. NOt sure if they do for ownership. NJ would be the first to require it for ownership https://www.njleg.state.nj.us/bill-search/2022/A4717 No text yet, but we may see it soon.
