I used to love shooting at Hillsboro. We even had my bachelor party there. For cold and nasty weather it is nice to have an indoor range close. I also shoot on Dix. Shooting at 200 is nice. I wish they had longer. There is something about shooting outside. Especially when the line is full and the first volley of fire fills the air with burnt powder. What a smell.

Brick Armory in Lakewood. Nice place, friendly and they have a few rentals if you want to try something different.

I like shooting at Dix. They have a 50 yd pistol range and a 200 yd rifle range. A KD paintball range, trap houses and a bow range. We shoot everything from water jugs to watermelons.$60/yr and $3/hr/shooter. up to 4 shooters.

I never put in for less than two permits. And to keep this focused on rifles. I am jonesing to get out soon and shoot my Enfield.

What County do you live in?

I am not a Taurus fan, but I have heard good things about the M&P. For a 9mm I would look at a CZ or an XD. I have both and would reccomend either.
