I dunno, with comments like that, Homeland might come to see you before me ;-)

I think the bigger challenge will be actually finding one! M1As are more popular than ever.

Where would i make the following post

It depends on what you want out of the bag. You could buy a shoulder bag at any Staples that would probably hold that much stuff and not be too expensive. -

that's an awesome Beretta. Congratulations! -
Considering opening a gun store
PoorSoulInJersey replied to axeman_g's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
as an MBA student, I can't help but ask: have you already done any kind of market research or business plans? I've always wanted to become an NRA instructor just because I love teaching. Unfortunately most of the classes seem to be in North Jersey. -
Springfield makes a 15 round M1A mag. It's $50, but they do make it.

HOMELAND SECURITY WARNS OF 'RIGHT WING RADICALS'
PoorSoulInJersey replied to Maksim's topic in General Discussion
The only issue, the people with tinfoil hats is Homeland security. Reading the report, anyone who got a firearms id and a pistol permit and bought an AR or a saiga fearing they may be banned.... is a right wing radical. Yeah, that's about it.... I guess any position out there now gets a "radical" label to make it sound scarier than it really is. -
I miss PA. When I had my carry permit, I could buy a handgun on impulse. No more paperwork than buying a rifle, pick up a holster and ammo, walk out to my car and put it on my hip! (they didn't like you loading it in the store...)

It's an M1A. The flash hider on that is really cool looking. I'm not sure what the difference really is from an M14, though. The muzzle brake on my AR is pinned and welded, since it has to be in order to make the barrel long enough to be NJ legal. It's amazing what that does to the volume of the report. -
I was told the same thing when I went for more permits a couple weeks ago. I don't know the laws that well, so I didn't really think anything of it.

Firearms and Piracy on the open waters

Now you're talking! -
how can you guys afford to shoot 500 rounds at a time these days? Or do you reload? (or do you have a "source"?)
-
It's nice to have a forum where not everyone is showing off their 200 round mags and cool collapsible stocks, shooting across the valley in their back yard.

HOMELAND SECURITY WARNS OF 'RIGHT WING RADICALS'
PoorSoulInJersey replied to Maksim's topic in General Discussion
There's about 1% of truth in that thing. Yeah, maybe the downturn in the economy could inspire someone to do something wild and illegal. It's not exactly news (well, actually it HAS been the news lately with the rash of mass shootings). The tin foil hat types think something's up no matter what the economy does. -
Directions to Fort Dix Range 14
PoorSoulInJersey replied to XDJohnTact's topic in Ranges & Gun Shops
I've always wanted to get to the Ft Dix range. I've heard a lot good about it but never been able to make it. -
Hey guys, welcome!
-
is that the 20" barrel? If so, I'm really jealous. I've been dying to get my hands on one, but it takes a miracle to get any AR right now. I didn't realize there were any dealers in Moorestown. Do they have a shop or is it just a guy with an FFL?

Dude, that is a sharp rifle. How does it shoot? It shoots like a dream. I got it in .223, so the recoil is almost non-existent, especially with that ridiculous muzzle brake. I swear, when it came in UPS. I thought I'd ordered a box of .45 ACP or something. I admit, I just got it because I thought it looked cooler with it. With the muzzle brake on, it makes one MAJOR bang. The bolt is super smooth and you can work it without even thinking about it. The gun's pretty light on its own, but the muzzle brake and bipod added a bit of weight. My only complaint is the magazines. They are mega-expensive (like $50 to $60 each) and take a little practice to learn to seat them right.

I try to get to the range twice a week, but I work full time, travel a lot for work, and I'm working on my MBA. Sometimes I've got to spend the time I'd like to spend shooting on work.

Firearms and Piracy on the open waters
PoorSoulInJersey replied to Maksim's topic in General Discussion
Doing a little quick Google work, ships are allowed to carry weapons legal in the country they are registered in, the country they are going to, and the country they are coming from. Often, that means only a shotgun loaded with birdshot is legal. Not bad for defending a bed room at night. I'm not sure I'd choose it for defending a naval vessel..... -
How's that DE 44? Does it feed pretty well? What's the recoil like?
-
I work from home a lot. Most gun sites are blocked at my real office :-(

Firearms and Piracy on the open waters
PoorSoulInJersey replied to Maksim's topic in General Discussion
Blackwater offered to patrol the area, even to escort ships. Since they are non-government, there was nothing stopping them, but none of the shipping companies took them up on it. I think they had a couple decent helicopter gunships and boats to keep them on. That's the one that blew my mind. I'd have thought they'd have a line out the door. -
It depends. With the handguns, I go through more than the rifles. I tend to only load 5 rounds at a time, forcing me to slow down a litte. It's amazing how fast you can shoot off a 15 round mag. If I really want to send myself home early, I bring the shotgun. 25 rounds or so and my shoulder has had enough!
