  3. Chad, LOL..... I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I think I want to try this gun, one more session, then make my decision. If I decide to sell, I will PM ya 1st...... Thanks Troy Sounds good...gotta strike while the iron is hot...yanno?? all kidding aside, definitely shoot it some more, hopefully it will grow on you. I have had buyers remorse before with my beretta 9000s I ended up keeping it. I'm not sure why, I just did. Good luck and keep us posted!
  4. Whats your asking price? I have one PP left!!!
  5. I came up with my username after months and months of thinking and extensive planning. I decided to use my first name.
  6. I moved to Manalapan from Lacey Twp a little over a year ago. I got printed, and filled out the usual forms including two references. I waited 5 months and finally called to see what was going on, and I was told, "oh yes, all your paperwork is back and you may pick up your new FID card". Thanks for the call!!!!
  7. Good Question.... I may be totally wrong, so DONT go by what I say. I THINK, If you are hunting you are only allowed to have 3 shells, hence a plug. Any other time, HD or whatever you can load it to the hills...(15 Rd drum if you like) as long as its a pump model like you stated. Like I said, I have no basis for stating these numbers, this is whats in my head for some unknown reason. I may be way off base.
  8. Richie...I just tried to add you to my contacts it said it sent you a request or something. I've never used the messenger before, did you get it? As you can see I have no idea what I'm doing with this thing. :?
  9. OK figured out how to get my ID...for those who dont know...open up a text message or an email and type in, "mypin" then space and it will give you your ID or Pin. Heres mine: 3194d75b
  10. Yeah, its a great place. You are right, the hours are lacking a little. I usually go on wednesday's as often as I can. If you would like to shoot there before getting a membership, let me know and I will gladly meet up with you there and you can be my "guest". They have great benches and also have cement pads if you want to prone out. You can shoot just about anything as long as its not glass and a .22 lr can go thru it (as per the rangemaster). I bring two real estate signs that I hang soda cans from (my wife usually comes with me and likes plinkin' the cans) and I staple paper targets on the other. We sometimes set up some old apples, or oranges or whatever. Its a good time. Shooting paper gets a little repetitious for me after a while. They do also sell cardboard targets mounted on a 2x4 if you prefer. Everyone is VERY nice there and willing to help you out if you have any questions.
  11. Sure! Are you talking about blackberry messenger? How do I find my ID?
  12. Called Freehold, Woodbridge, East Brunswick, and Manahawkin Dicks as well as the Sportsmens Center none of them have .22 bulk packs.
  13. Yes they do...but are limiting customers to ONE brick.
  14. +1 on ft. dix...granted its about an hour away from you, but very inexpensive, no required meetings to attend, no limits on ammo, no initiation fees, no sponsorships, no nothing. Just go and shoot, the way a range should be.
  15. I don't think anyone here is in a state of panic. It is simply a term for the room. For sake of this thread not going into another galaxy perhaps we should call it a "safe room". Maybe I should have stated the question differently. Does anyone have a SAFE room for their wife / kids / fido to "retreat" to in case of an emergency (not limited to home invasions). My theory is to always be prepared instead of after the fact saying "I should have". I understand not to believe everything you read but for the skeptics: This victim is a friends father, note the two handguns that were stolen: http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl ... 9905140345 Some good statistics here: http://southjersey.backpage.com/General ... id=2214089 http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/0 ... d_bro.html http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/0 ... durin.html http://blog.nj.com/timesupdates/2007/09 ... g_mor.html http://www.nj.com/south/index.ssf/2009/ ... 8_dee.html http://cbs3.com/topstories/Home.Invasio ... 40501.html Here are a few from UNION COUNTY: http://www.unioncountynj.org/prosecutor ... teliz.html This one happened to a senator last month in Elizabeth... http://www.unioncountynj.org/prosecutor ... teliz.html http://www.nj.com/news/local/index.ssf/ ... bbery.html There are plenty more where these came from.
  16. Just remember you wont be able to take it home on Sunday! No NICS on sundays. :x I dont mean to burst your bubble, I just dont want you to be dissapointed when you try to make an impulse buy, and they don't let you! You can buy it, do all, or most of the paperwork, but you can't take it home until they make the call on monday.
  17. I don't believe this is true. Certainly official crime stats don't seem to back it up. Where is that data coming from? The FBI's UCR (uniform crime report).
  18. Home invasions are on the rise big time in NJ. Anyone have a safe room / panic room or have you ever wanted one? It doesn't have to be as elaborate as the one in the movie, "Panic Room" but maybe just a bedroom or spare room with a good heavy door and a deadbolt where you can stick the family in case the SHTF?
  19. +1 on Ft. Dix. I highly recomend it there also, and if you have your retired military card the price drops by half! $30 /year. Here's a link if you want to check it out...http://www.dixmwr.com/Recreation%20_Fac ... s_Home.htm Shooting paper for me gets a little boring after a little while, Ft. Dix allows shooting of cans / clay pigeons / ect. as long as its not glass and a .22 will go thru it you are good to go. Welcome to the forum and thanks for serving our country!
  20. Funny you mention this, I was going thru my 'inventory" today and came across a 20 rd box of wolf 7.62 x 39. It had a harry's army and navy price sticker on it marked $2.99. Now, keep in mind that they were always on the expensive side when it came to ammo. That same 20 round box today can be found for close to $10.00 !!!! Incredible. I can remember buying 1000 rd cases of .223 for around $140 and 1000 rd cases of 7.62 x 39 for around $90.00 not too long ago, within the past 6 or 7 years.
  21. The spotting scope wasn't really helping much either. I'm thinking about picking up a hubble telescope! GROUP BUY maybe!!!???!!!
  22. While on the topic of 22 optics... When removing the scope from the rifle for cleaning purposes, it should stay sighted in, right? Am I crazy? I remove the rings from the base, not the rings from the scope. When I put it back on, it seems a little out of zero. Tell you what, after sighting in my scopes yesterday, for 2 hours, which used to take me 2 mins, I need glasses! I cant see squat! And those laser bore sighters are so so. They at least get you on paper. I had to buy a piece of reflective tape and stick it onto my target so I could see the little red dot @ 50 yds. Even after that, I cant see the holes in the paper after shooting!!!! I'm the only moron out there using a spotting scope @ 50 yards! Even with that I couldn't see that well. Maybe its time for a new spotting scope, I have a garbage BSA 20-60
  23. Sounds good....good luck and please keep us posted.
  24. Thats just my $.000002 some one else may have a different suggestion or different input. If you search around I know there was a post on here somewhere about this, some kind of organization that can guide you along the process, it also mentioned something about expongements for free if you become a member, but dont quote me on it. Good Luck!
