  1. Interesting. I think I'll stop by this weekend and see what I can shmooze up. I'll sweep their floors if I hafta...
  2. Oh hey, what's this?: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=40.760217,-74.382308&num=1&t=h&sll=40.759522,-74.385911&sspn=0.006295,0.006295&ie=UTF8&ll=40.760228,-74.382291&spn=0.006022,0.013937&z=17
  3. Just reading this: There were a lot of stocks that traded at 1 cent and ZERO today. The entire bid just disappeared from the market (albeit briefly)
  4. I'm waiting to see if a VERY profitable trade that supposedly executed for me today is going to get busted or not. Went long a leveraged bear ETF about 2:00, about 2:40 I put a trailing stop on it and at 3:00 it turned into a market order that just sat there without executing and half an hour later my broker crashed.
  5. Heh, you think? All the High Frequency Trading shops just algorithmed themselves right into a regulatory crackdown: I look forward to seeing what the equity market is like without a bunch of computers passing 1 share a million times a second between them...
  6. Action, Don't know where you are located, but there are a two ranges that I know of that are likely within a reasonable driving time for you that allow to "rent" handguns - you can handle them and actually fire them. Shore Shot Sunset Hill I'd strongly recommend spending some time and money to try out a variety of guns before committing to purchasing a particular one.

  8. They may not be opposed to it. I'm guessing, just guessing, that this "range" is probably something run by a member or friend of the church and they try to keep it "close to the fold". Perhaps if Melgamatic wanted to share some contact info we could ask them directly. They do have a big chunk of land there.
  9. I know exactly where that is. That's the Vocationist/Shepherds of Youth church complex. http://www.vocationist.org/florhamparkcommunity.htm
  10. Exactly my thought as well. The longer they wait, the cheaper the space gets!
  11. Florham as in Florham Park? Very close to me if it is.
  12. Awesome stories, read them word for word! Any more? The biggest highlight when I went to the Intrepid museum a couple of years ago was seeing the blackbird in person. Highly recommended if you're a fan of this plane. Someone remind me, when was the blackbird designed and built again? I seem to remember it was the 60's, and it out-flew any other plane on a speed and altitude basis for what, 30 years? Also remember reading a bout ground refueling - apparently the plane was designed so that on the ground at ambient temps there were gaps all over in the fuselage The gaps were designed to allow the metal to expand when it heated up at higher speeds. Apparently this also meant that the fuel tanks would leak until it got up to speed, so they used to wait until just before takeoff to completely fill it. Am I delusional or has anyone read that?

    hey guys

    Welcome from a Northerner!
  14. Interested. To be held at the GFH facility/Bullet Hole?
  15. Many thanks again Ted for taking some time to help me out! He had the idea of taking off a bit at a time with a belt sander and test fitting instead of chucking it up in the lathe. Worked out great.
  16. Ted, offer much appreciated, would like to take you up on it today. Will PM you for tel #.
  17. So it looks like I'm going to have to modify the piston shaft in my Adams Arms piston kit for my AR in order for it to work with the Daniel Defense rail and have the recommended clearance between the end of the shaft and the gas block. I need to take 0.020" off a hardened steel rod (the piston shaft). The shaft is 0.17" in diameter at the end where the metal needs to be removed, 0.250" in diameter at the mid point of the shaft and 0.425" at the opposite end. Shaft is ~11 1/8" in overall length.

  19. So finally got it assembled enough to do some action/function checks and I'm running into some issues. Let's start with the easy question first. Is it normal for for the casings on .223 rounds to get gouged/dented like the below (and leave brass chips on the bolt lugs/bolt carrier) like below when simply using the charging handle to cycle the bolt carrier back and forth and eject rounds?:
  20. Mexico is well on its way to becoming a terrorist state.
  21. Note that the statute refers to discharging, not possession. I don't *think* it's illegal to *possess* it in NJ, but it is illegal to shoot it.
