  1. I usually get some material from these stupid bills and laws, but this is just flat out SCARY! WTF is going on? These people just don't quit, do they? My wife and I were talking the other day about putting the house up for sale and I think it is time. I'd rather be "free" with little money that be under oppression with... well, no money!
  2. Is there something you know that you can share with the rest of us?
  3. I am sorry to hear that. These freaking politicians will "cut their nose to spite their face"... They will LAY these people off until the mass of citizens complain and tell them they'll do anything to get them back including higher taxes. When things do not make sense, follow the money trail and the power trail. There is SO much waste that these townships could cut back on and probably save 30% or more without cutting Cops, Firefighters and teachers.
  4. No, this is a scare tactic. Why on God's green earth would you lay off Cops and Firefighters? Know what happens... people say "I don't care what you need to do to get their jobs back, DO IT...Raise my taxes if you have to"! I have seen it in my home town.. The citizens vote down these silly school budgets and then teachers and administrators say "we'll have to teach your kids in trailers... we mean it if this budget gets shot down again..." So the budget gets shot down, they spend $500,000 for a few trailers and put them on the FRONT lawn of the school and parents cry... "no, this is horrible we'll do whatever you need"! Meanwhile, they raise the taxes, expand the schools and end up with empty rooms. Freaking ploy.... They'll cut whatever will freak people out then raise taxes to further their corrupt agenda.
  5. Yes, because we all know criminals are sticklers for following the law.....
  6. 92FS? Man I would have sold you mine... it is a very nice gun but sad to say, my least favorite. The grip is too thick for me... but it shoots just about everything I fed it. Easy to clean and a decent feel. However, I am not as accurate with this gun as my others... don't know why maybe just me. EDIT: That grip on the 90-Two looks nice... I think it looks better than the 92FS...have fun and enjoy! Anyway... good luck.
  7. A Clark County judge says Wisconsin’s ban on carrying concealed weapons is unconstitutional. In the case, authorities charged a Sauk City man with carrying a concealed weapon, after he admitted he had a knife in his waistband. He never threatened anyone. In light of the landmark Supreme Court ruling in McDonald v. City of Chicago, attorney William Poss filed a motion to dismiss the case on constitutional grounds. Judge Jon Counsell obliged Wednesday, ruling the law is overly broad and violates both the Second and Fourteenth Amendments of the Constitution. “The government has to have a compelling state interest to do so (restrict the right to carry) and they have to have the least restrictive means of doing that,” said Poss. “Public safety obviously is a state interest, but there’s all kinds of ways to do that in this regard.” In his decision, Counsell states the law forces citizens to “go unarmed (thus not able to act in self defense), violate the law or carry openly,” but notes displaying weapon’s openly isn’t a “realistic alternative.” As of now, the decision only sets a precedent in Counsell’s court, but Poss expects the case will be appealed. “It’s ultimately going to get to either the Wisconsin Supreme Court and or the United States Supreme Court one way or another,” he predicted. The decision was disseminated around the state Wednesday, and Poss already had 50 congratulatory phone messages or e-mails from colleagues by Wednesday afternoon. “There’s a lot of interest in this obviously,” he said. “It’s not a left or right type of thing quite frankly. It’s a liberty thing.” Clark County Assistant District Attorney Dick Lewis said he has 20 days to appeal the ruling, and no decision has been made. Wisconsin is one of only two states which completely ban carrying concealed weapons. AUDIO: WCCN’s Paul Knoff reports (1:25) Site link
  8. Were you born in the USA? Were you previously hospitalized for a mental disorder? The reason I ask is a guy I work with was not born in the USA and had to do this as well as someone I know who was previously hospitalized for a mental disorder. However, I have not .... Still not legal IMHO though...
  9. See email below: Shortly after my election to the Legislature in 1995, I introduced the predecessor of the above-cited Bill. Same was referred to this Committee, as has been every subsequent incarnation thereof, where it languished. In light of the recent decision by the United States Supreme Court in McDonald, there exists essentially no doubt that many of New Jersey’s draconian restrictions on the fundamental right to keep and bear arms will not survive a legal challenge. As a result, New Jersey has essentially two choices: legislatively respect the constitutional rights of its citizens, or face the inevitability of being compelled to do so by the judiciary. The consequences of legislative inaction – leaving aside the denial of fundamental constitutional rights – could be hugely expensive for the taxpayers. Litigation is, as you know, very costly and, since the plaintiffs are almost certain to prevail in a challenge, they would likely be entitled to an award of counsel fees in addition to invalidating NJ’s unconstitutional laws. I respectfully request, then, that the Chairman schedule the above proposal for Committee consideration with all deliberate speed. Respectfully, Michael Patrick Carroll As you have written me in favoring Second Amendment rights, let me ask you a simple favor: Write to the committee chairman, as well as each member of the Committee, respectfully requesting that this measure be posted. In order to maximize the impact, I ask you to do it via snail mail (we old folks tend to respect paper more than electrons). Use your own language so that it cannot be dismissed as a form letter. Ask each of them to respond to you, in writing, respecting their position. Already, some Members of the Majority see the handwriting on the wall. Senator Van Drew recently introduced a concealed carry law. Although it needs work – the fees are unconscionably high and the training requirements disconcertingly vague – it represents a welcome step in the right direction. Now is the time to press for true reform. The addresses of the other committee members are here: Assemblyman Nelson T. Albano 21 North Main St. Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 Assemblyman Jon M. Bramnick 251 North Ave. West 2nd Floor Westfield, NJ 07090 Assemblywoman Elease Evans 100 Hamilton Plaza Suite 1400 Paterson, NJ 07505 Assemblywoman Amy H. 10. Wow... what if the founders took that laid back attitude? We are discussing the "right to keep and bear arms...that shall not be infringed". You want to simply leave that to the courts and sit back in your recliner while they "work it out"? Do you think the HCR bill was stalled because of the Republicans? No... it was stalled because millions and millions of people got out and VOICED their opinions, sent letters and made calls. Pressure, vote, pressure, vote... We are passionate about the 2nd amendment because we know the consequences of losing it... and history has proved time after time the end result is NOT pretty. I, along with others, do not take LOSING freedom lightly, nor will I rely on a left wing lawyer to "protect" this RIGHT. We are at a critical point in this country and preserving Inalienable (God given) rights. If you want to give your God given rights over to the control of Man or Government, then be prepared for those Rights to be taken away. Is that what you are saying? is that what you want?
  11. Me too.... but it is probably indigestion from the stress of living in NJ!
  12. Is that what it has come down to? It's like dealing (kissing up) to the KGB... this is a right that "shall not be infringed". Driving on a public road, paid for with public tax dollars is different and the cop can ask what, why, where. Owning a gun is different... it is a fundamental right. it's like a cop pulling up to your house and ask why you are having drink on the back deck, why you are cooking with salt and why did you put the TV in the family room instead of the living room!!! It does not make sense and just because it is a "firearm" does not change the "fundamental right". When you, me or anyone else is QUESTIONED on why there is a NEED for a fundamental right, then something is wrong. This is stuff you see in the USSR....
  13. Wow, that stinks. In my area the "cop" there encouraged me to apply for as many permits as I can use in 6 months. He asked NO questions, made small talk and said "enjoy and have a great day". He has done this every time I have gone there! Sorry to hear about your experience...
  14. but we have to play the game with the deck of cards we have... That's what they want you to believe! The people have MORE power than you give them credit for.... keep on them, you'll see!
  15. I thought about this for a bit, then started to wonder WHY we are paying for a right that is "not to be infringed"? The 1A and 2A go hand in hand and both "complement" each other. So why should we pay for this? Would it make sense to pay $500 to stand in a "free speech" cage and speak your mind once a year along with limitations on what can be said? How about a $500 to be able to cook in your [own] home, then limited to what you are allowed to cook? See, I think this opens a pandora's box of: -Registration -Tax -heavily regulated -lawyers fees and lawsuits -Buy insurance (someone mentioned these) For what? Does that sound like more freedom and does it follow "shall not be infringed"?
  16. Key word is ASKED! Not forced, not "made to", no obligation... free to do; donation out of YOUR CHOICE. See, we have been brainwashed to believe that $150 (forced or you don't get a license to carry) to pay for a CCW is expected and fair. Would it be safe to say that $150 (forced) is fair to be able to use the restrooms at work for the year? How about to enter you local Church? This is a right that "shall not be infringed". meaning, there is NO obstacle to keep you from getting a firearms or carrying it. I know it sounds "crazy", but criminals will ALWAYS break the law and their right is NOT being infringed, but us morons who pay $150, take courses, get fingerprinted, wait for 90 days and have to buy permits that expire are not being infringed upon?
  17. Why do we have to pay for a right that states "shall not be infringed".... Why do we [even] need to discuss this? Do we pay for free speech? Do we pay to pray? I dunno' it sounds like paying for bottled water to water the lawn...
  18. Even though that is one of the nastiest visions that I can't get out of my head... I think you are correct. This state is azz backwards because of progressive liberalism. The only way they'll do it is if the money they collect would make a DENT in the debt we carry... that's all. Honestly, it is extortion but I would pay it if there were no strings attached, it was "shall issue" and every other year. You can't put a price tag on defending your life.... $500 a year or being dead because there was no way to defend yourself... Gotta' start somewhere.
  19. +1 on that! Then there is risk of theft, can't get to it if you need it, etc. Put it under the bed or in your closet in a nice sturdy lockable tub/metal case.
  20. LOL.... if that were the case, my ammo would be dirty as sin and not work.... (don't tell my wife)
  21. I was looking at that then found a very nice 3' x 3'6" x 2'6" heavy duty composite truck box. It has a locking mechanism and two spots for additional locks. It can be lagged to the floor and the hinges are tucked behind and will be against the wall in the closet. $57 at Lowes.... I can literally jump on top of this thing without breaking it and it can not be cut unless using a circular saw or similar. We'll see....
  22. Hello All, Well, I can no longer store my firearms and ammo in the same cabinet as I ran out of room and boxes fall out every time I open the the cabinet. Here is my question, I know I can get another gun cabinet for $89 and store ammo in there but I want something shaped more like a cooler that is made of steel (horizontal instead of vertical storage)....any suggestions? I bought a large plastic tote but I want something that I can bolt to the floor (steel) and lock as I have quite a bit of money invested in ammo and am concerned more about theft than anything. Any suggestions?
