  1. I am thinking of joining. It looks like a pretty active club with great ranges. Can any current member contact me and show me the facility? 530 PM is my best time, any day during the week. If it rains this Saturday morning, that would be OK also. Thanks, dave
  2. It cost about $7 in Cheaper than Dirt and took 5 minutes to install. Well worth the money. It works so well and went in easy enough that I thought something was wrong. Ream out the pin hole with a 1/8 drill bit before installation.
  3. Someone with burglary investigation experience:If the bad guy is in the house for 5 minutes, will they find a long gun in the closet, above the door? Cannot be seen through an open door. What else do they usually take? Do they cut phone (alarm) lines before entry? Do they return a second time?
  4. FYI: Lobster on sale at Shop Rite this week. $6 per pound, 1 1/4 lb, $7 per pound 3 lb. Cut open, rinse out the cavity, cut claws off Grill medium/high claws 30 minutes, body 25 minutes (1 1/4 lb size) Turn a couple of times but don't bother butter basting while they cook I don't know the cooking time for the big boys
  5. I just got a flint/percussion (side) stock marked US & a bunch of other (unit?) letters and a barrel with markings that trace to a gun maker in PA between 1820 & 1860. Anybody interested or knowledgeable about these items?
  6. Self taught but lots of practice. I am also some type of an engineer and that helps with the hardware.
  7. Guitar case. Safer for walking to the car in the neighborhood.
  8. Exactly the opposite. The girl in our town is 110% nice about the whole procedure. I almost wrote the Chief a letter, complimenting her.
  9. I vote for keeping a low profile. You are much more likely to be burgled if there is a glass front gun rack visible. My "Beware of Dog" sign actually kept the electric guy out of the yard until I called and agreed that they could enter.
  10. Not being very popular, I only make or get 2 calls a week. Pay by the minute @.25 ends up being <$10 per month. I never turn it on and rarely carry it.
  11. Shooting .22 at Brick Armory last night. Not busy at all. A little warm but not too bad. Fun way to legally blow off some rounds.
  12. Essingers has it easily. Bought 6 bricks and no questions asked. It is not close to me but well worth the drive because I was in the area.
  13. Thanks everybody for the tips. Looks like a road trip this weekend? I just found 2 bricks in a secondary fireproof box so I am good now. I ordered 5 online but have 0 confidence in the early july ship date. Anybody order from Sportsmans Guide? I have gotten stuff from them years ago OK but the last Stakon cabinet was a POS for the money.
  14. Thanks for the offer to pick them up for me but I would not do that. I can drive up this weekend but would call them first. Please reply if you know the store well, I am looking for a used 20 gauge single or double barrel. Nothing pretty but sturdy.
  15. Don't wast your time cheaping out with a "cabinet". You will eventually get a real safe so you might as well start there. This is from personal experience. By the time i finished welding stuff onto a cheap Stackon and bolting it to the wall, I could have just bought a good one. Lowe's has them for $400.
  16. No bricks to be found in the state? WTF I cannot pay $10 per 100 for what is available. Been buying these easily my whole life.
