From my personal experience. For Edison if you have recently gotten your permits and you apply again for additional permits, they will not send out the reference letters and all that jazz again. They just do the state(not 100% sure on this) and local background checks and send your your notice your permits are ready. It took me 2 months the first time i applied for my pistol permits. The following week i applied for more and it took about 3 weeks. Your experiences may vary but thats my two cents.

yeah, another clear example of the infinite wisdom that is NJ. They probably saw images of people firing their AK's with one hand in other countries and decided that the pistol grip was the source of all evil... i think i'd break something if i tried firing my ar with one hand (mine are a bit front heavy)

I was just applying for additional permits. In edison, if it has been 6 months since your last application they gotta do everything over again and send ur prints off to the state. It's bull, but whatever

since the selection of ARs in NJ are somewhat limited, I just did my research online, ordered the upper that fit my wants/needs and shipped it to the house. since lowers are pretty much the same you can get the lower in NJ and either get a fully assembled lower or build one yourself, it really is easy peasey.

you think thats bad, i applied for 3 pistol permits back in early july, they finally received my prints on 9/21. so i called them that week and asked how much longer and they said 2 weeks max which would put it around 10/2. I called on 10/2 and they told me to wait until the end of october, so much for 2 weeks max... if i get it by the end of october it will put me at around 18 weeks!

well i really want one, i may even be willin to just shell out the money if it falls into my price range. i love the whole concept of barrel/caliber swapping with no tools!

Im pretty certain that any rifle with 2 or more of the "evil features" counts as an assault rifle regardless of similarities to existing banned guns. If I am wrong I will happily concede as I want one of these so freaggin badly...

Hello all, A little about myself, as you see I'm an Edison resident. Contrary to my username I do not work on jets as 'Jet' is a gamer nickname. Im an engineer with an interest in the defense industry and though I have always supported the second amendment, I have only recently gotten into the way of life. Bought my first gun last November and haven't stopped since =) I can usually be spotted at shore shot in lakewood or Fort Dix range from time to time. Like everyone else I'm just a disgruntled resident at the anti-freedom atmosphere of this blasted state (I'm moving out as soon as I'm done with grad school and can find a job in PA maybe). I'm always up for shootin with new people and am always getting new friends into the sport!
