  1. There are about 6 of us so far who are interested in meeting. I have my cutie-pie Grand Daughters coming this weekend. But starting early next week, I will float some trial balloons as to date, time and place. My home in Manahawkin is available, and Tony has generously offered either his place of business or his home (both in Bayville). So, we are much closer at actually getting to *DO* something, ANYTHING, to try and make a difference for individual rights here in the great state of NJ. BTW - I mean that seriously. With all its faults, I think NJ is the best place to be. We just need to change some of the crap stuff.
  2. OK, it looks like we are agreed that we need to be seen. Does anyone have any experience getting a petition cirulated. Would it be a good idea to have one in hand when we show up. If so, what is a good number of signitures?
  3. I *AM* tired of bitching about it on the Internet. I am just not sure quite how to go about it.
  4. mipafox, Well, it sounds like you already have a statement. Are you willing to share it with us? What would you say? I'll go if we have a plan. You can feel free to PM me, and then we can set something up. I am retired, so I can pretty much make myself available.
  5. mipafox, I DO! I think one of the things we DEFINITELY need to do is "show up". OF COURSE they are going to continue to ignore us if they can. It is easier. So, we have to show them we are not going away. But, I have been to meetings (with Congressman John Adler for interest), you have to know what it is you intend to say, cuz you don't get much time to say it in person. That's what the brainstorming is all about.
  6. I have no doubt that you are right, Z. That was before people began to see the current administration for what it is. Mainstream Americans do not like socialism. That isn't what they thought they were getting, but that *IS* what they GOT! I personally think a LOT of eyes have been opened. So, although the past CAN be predictive of the future, traumatic events can cause people to wake up and act. I think the ONLY thing lack, is leadership. This forum is the most likely place for it to emerge.
  7. Mike, I have been thining of trying to start a small group down here in Ocean County. Unlike much of NJ, this area is highly Republican. Maybe we can open a few eyes and help to get the message across. Self defense, and self preservation are HUMAN rights. No one, and CERTAINLY not the goverment, which is mandated by the Constitution to PROTECT those rights, should be allowed to prevent law abiding people from owning guns.
  8. I agree wholeheartedly with Mike. That is why I think *NOW* is the time to organize.
  9. If you are unsure of who your representatives are, you can go to the following link, and click the appropriate area on the map. Choose one of your legislators, and on their page click "Contact You Legislator(s)". This will bring you to a page where you can select all the reps for your district, and send a message to all of them at once: http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/districts/njmap210.html For District 9 Senator CHRISTOPHER J. CONNORS - Republican (609) 693-6700 Assemblywoman DIANNE C. GOVE - Republican (609) 693-6700 Assemblyman BRIAN E. RUMPF - Republican (609) 693-6700
  10. Well, I would rather thank the men and women who are serving, themselves.
  11. Hey, Thanks Bryan. I appreciate the info.
  12. Phenominal story of real courage. Frank
  13. Sorry to be a pain guys, but I have another question regarding ammo. Does anyone have experience with Sellier & Bellot ammo? Cabelas has an excellent price with $5 shipping. Frank
  14. Thx Pete, So much to learn, so little time to shoot. :-) Frank
  15. Thanks Chris, So far I am just using it for target practice. The range officer did not complain about the steel, so I assume it is ok. I *AM* becoming "attached" to my gun, and want to treat "her" right. So, I will purchase some nice, tasty, ammo for her to consume. I appreciate the info. Frank
  16. Mark, Chris and Pete, Thx guys. I am pretty much just learning. I did a *LOT* of research on the gun; which is why I bought the P30L. I really didn't know I was buying steel cased ammo. The ad said nothing about the case, it was just cheaper. I should have realized that you get what byou pay for. And it WAS Wolf. What brands do you guys recommend? Frank
  17. So far so good. I have fed it several hundred rounds with no problem *BUT* I am a brand new gun owner and frankly, I had no idea what I was buying. I will defer to my wiser brethren here in the forum upon my next purchase. Unfortunately, I bought 1500 rounds, which I will have to shoot first. So, please tell me what is the difference between brass and steel? I really have no idea. Frank
  18. Yeah Sirsloop, What do they say " you have to laugh to keep from crying". 8-) Frank
