  2. what made you decide on the vltor upper receiver?
  3. would you recommend this class to those brand new to the AR platform? With no previous course experiences? How many students in the class?
  4. surprised by the way you listed your upper parts it seems your doing it piece by piece like stated- i wonder why you don't just buy a custom upper built up already... you can find upper assemblies for around $300(just wouldn't included a handguard/BCG group or rear site)
  5. look for magpul mbus sets... i'm sure the gen1 stuff could be had for a good price now that the gen2 sets are out lookin real good btw
  6. i have a midwayusa range bag. $39.99 for the larger one that should give you more room than you'll need. I have earmuffs that i bought from amazon- low profile ones. I also bought a simple cleaning kit when I first started out.
  7. Thanks for all the advice guys. I went with an ncstar hi-res scope and am hoping for the best. 20-60x60
  8. 2011 NJ IDPA Championships I'm sure most of you guys already know about this but I hadn't seen a topic on it. Who's in? We can maybe get a squad going. some key info from the site What is it: An IDPA Sanctioned Match An IDPA Sanctioned Match conducted under IDPA Rules current as of June 11, 2011. It will consist of 10 stages and an estimated round count of 130 rounds. Bring more just in case. Awards for Divisions and Classifications will be according to IDPA guidelines. Shooting Sessions: Shooting Session Sign-in Match Briefing/Shooters' Meeting Shooting Starts Squad Numbers Comments Saturday, June 11, 2011 08:00 AM 08:45 AM 09:00 AM 11-14 Match Staff Only Sunday, June 12, 2011 08:00 AM 08:45 AM 09:00 AM 21-27 Who is eligible: You need to be currently classified which means that you must have a shot a classifer after June 10, 2010 in the division that you want to compete in. That is unless you are Master class shooter. If that is the case then don't worry about the classifier. The Match Registrar will be checking the IDPA Web Site and if you need to confirm your classification the Registrar will contact you. Match Fee: The fee for the Match is $80.00. Payment will be check and instructions for mailing in your payment will be in a link in your registration confirmation email and on the last screen of the registration process. The match fee is due immediately following your registration. It is really important that you get your match fee in because you can't select a squad until it is received. Squads: You will receive an email with a link to the Self Squad System when your payment for the match has been received by the Match Director and he has approved your registration. You will then be able to assign yourself to the squad of your choice. Back to top of page Match Staff: Match Staff is being accepted. Please indicate on your registration that are willing to work the match either as a Safety Officer (must be a certified IDPA Safety Officer) or a staff member. If you want to work the match then hold off on sending your payment. If you are approved to work the match then you will be contacted by the Match Director regarding working the match and he will tell you whether or not to submit any payment. The Match Director has informed me that to be on the staff you must be able to shoot with staff during their session and work the rest of the match to be eligible for a full match refund.. Registration Information: Registration closes at 12:01AM on May 28, 2011. Or sooner at the discretion of the Match Director. There will be NO refunds of Match Fees after May 28, 2011. If you wish to withdraw after 12:01AM on May 28, 2011 then you must either find a shooter to take your place or forfeit your match fee. Changes to registration are permitted up to 12:01AM on May 28, 2011. All registration will be done online. No exceptions. Shooters must have an email address to receive messages regarding the match. This is a LOST BRASS match so be sure to consider that before you register. When your brass hits the ground it belongs to the club.

  14. So my AR is done... took it to the range today for sighting in... failed at it... i had to rent a spotting scope from the range(stand sucked so it was pretty inconvenient) but it was better than the 1-4x scope i brought that i thought would be good enough for spotting. basically i'm looking for something that will be able to see out to 200yds at least however, i'm trying to keep costs at around $100 so what kind of magnification am i looking for? what brands do i stay away from? i know NcStar and Barska offer inexpensive scopes- but should i stay away from those? any advice is much appreciated! i'll be keeping my eye out on dvor for any deals as well
  15. i joined today too... got there around 2ish stayed til the end. i was on table 5. agreed with everything up top need to find me a spotting scope and a shooting bag to shoot off of... i had a pretty tough time zeroing in at 50yds buy more short mags (can we get another group buy, ty?) what time were u there til papercut? also what was wrong with the primary arms red dot?
  16. time you heading there? i'm planning on joining too now that i have an AR more questions about joining you can just go pay the $60, sign up and shoot all the same day? also it's $60 for the membership but $3/hr every time you visit, right?
  17. i couldn't tell you, haven't had the chance to fire it yet. trying to find a public range that let's me reach out to at least 100yds. i've only been to indoor ranges myself.
