  1. it's totally sweet. since it's my first gun, I did tons of research on it. you can't beat the price, it looks damn cool and shoots so well....not in my hands, I still suck, but glennp shot it and it had good groups. which caliber are you thinking of? I have the 9mm. Since I'm a noob and ammo is cheaper.
  2. Jeremy, those are awesome pics! I love Woot! Ok here's a few of my one and only so far... I'll post more once I get the Mossy from lunker & put the 18.5" barrel on it...
  3. I just skip to the last page.... and is there a "Central Jersey" team?
  4. I'm down for a meet. I'm sure I can sneak away for an hour even during my busy weekends. I've been dying to take my dad to shoot. they come visit every other Sunday from Staten Island. I might leave that for when I'm actually a member myself. For now, I'd love to meet more guys from the forum and fire off a few rounds.
  5. some people are will survive. those armed are more likely to do so...
  6. not funny Glenn... I googled it, ok... I'm gonna go to Effinger's and get the video...it's free, right. and then I'll do the workbook... and go for the outing, I guess that's with you, right. I should have my shotgun by then... and I go hunt me some deer.... I'll grind it up and tell the wife it's cow HAHAHAHAHAHA
  7. HAHAHAAH I never got a response to my email to the either, so I was glad when some forum members told me they were members of SCF&G and Glenn was nice enough to take me there last night. Yah, I took the NRA FIRST STEPS Pistol course, so that qualifies for training. I joined the NRA 3 hours after buying my first gun a month ago today I actually mailed the letter asking to be put on their waiting list.
  8. I won't let the tread die... because THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING. when I was asked what I want a shotgun for ... clay shooting, hunting, etc? my answer was simple: ZOMBIES
  9. Glenn told me it's somewhere around $90, but he's a student and gets a different rate anyway. Al, perhaps you could elaborate. I'm interested in knowing for sure also. and how does the whole "work day" thing work? do you get any $ credit for it? is there an "initiation fee"?
  10. I was there with Glenn last night. I mailed my letter to be put on the waiting list today. *fingers crossed* hope they make me a member soon. it took me exactly 3 minutes to get there.. pulled out of my house 8:20pm, pulled into SCF&G lot at 8:23pm. I'm down to meet up there some weekend, since I work nights, nights is difficult for me.... I'll have to take time off from work just to attend the few mandatory meetings.
  11. I'm trying to find this "chicks with guns" thread. where is it?
  12. hah.. Al, good points. I'm trying to get the wife into it... but after reading those.... I dunno... maybe she's better in "scared of guns" mode.. :shhh:
  13. ha ha thanks Glenn! that was awesome! I'm gonna write that letter today, fer sure
  14. It's like at least an hour drive for me to go to Bullet Hole and I work nights. so until my schedule changes, I can't come for the meet ups, as much as I want to... sorry fellas.
  15. what about that "to serve and protect" slogan I see on some cop cars... what a load of crap.
  16. hahahahahahaha I totally remember the tall loud guy! I was there with Jimmy from Gun for Hire at first and then I was with my buddy in port # 9 shooting my PX4.
  17. hey fellas, when I was getting my FIRST steps pistol class @ the Bullet Hole from Gun For Hire and as I recall, there were a few guys shooting there in the njgunforums t-shirts. (this was before I joined the forum myself) I'm just curious, who was that? Just to put names and faces together. I think there was an AR being shot, maybe something else. I came back to the Bullet Hole after the lesson with a buddy to put some more rounds through my PX4. so anyone recall being @ the Bullet Hole Tuesday August 3rd?

    Yay or Nay?

ya on the mags, easy to distinguish calibers, visible.... nay on the gun... a bit tacky....
  19. I think the law says something to the effect that the cops are not obligated to protect you. and you're not allowed to protect yourself... so what then? lay down and take it, New Jersey resident, criminals have RIGHTS in our state... ridiculous...
  20. that made some sense. I'm a pretty medium sized guy and not in the weak category, so a 12 probably would work fine for me. Sorry Ray Ray... I like the way "Mossberg" rolls off the tongue he he and I prefer Pepsi to Coke... and it's a bit cheaper...
  21. indeed.com is nice. try linkup.com it searches the companies' own job boards, kind of indeed does for big boards. My wife and I are trying to change jobs right now. I'm an Operations Supervisor (warehouse) and I'm looking to move up and she's a Unix Sys Admin. so anyone know of anything anywhere, let me know. and I'd be glad to help anyone else with job hunting or whatever other advice.
  22. I think Remington vs. Mossberg is more like a brand preference argument. Some folks like Fords, some like Toyotas, some eat at McD's some at Wendys. I'm personally looking into the Mossy. I like the position of the safety on it and it's what the military uses, so that gives me more confidence about the brand. now 20ga vs. 12ga who can help me out, which has more kick? I'm leaning towards the 12 just because ammo would be more common/cheaper.
  23. Hey guys and gals! very nice forum, interesting info and good people - glad to be a part of it!
