  1. that information is hugely useful! guess next time I restock on 7.62x39 I will just look at the cheapest under those manufactures since they are all of pretty similar quality.. never saw wolf gold before..
  2. THIS! guys on Saiga 12 buy Tula all day long.. and in that weapon I have not seen a ton of operational issues reported.. I would not shoot any of that steel case stuff in any of my AR platform guns.. as far as wolf you can pretty much see the difference in the coating.. the lacquer is thicker and almost greener.. where as the newer coating they use is pretty much clear.. I actually just picked up 500 rounds of the lacquer coated.. it really seems inconsequential what ammo I put in the Saiga... but my AR series guns have always been slightly more picky..
  3. just ordered the two pouches I wanted for my pack.. thanks for the discount.. saved like 15 bucks!
  4. oh yeah man no question.. Verizon does eventually need to get the I-Phone.. we need it because as stated even with good alternatives there are people who will not leave AT&T due to the I-Phone..having it on Verizon would finally get those people over.. I am no apple fan boy but the I-Phone is pretty amazing.. but it is just timing to me at this point.. ride that Droid wave till its flat.. then once you are through that then look into the I-Phone.. that would likely be good timing IMO..
  5. I carry a maxpedition bag EVERY day with all my stuff in it.. I have used the bag to lug a ton of ammo to the range.. out in the woods on canoe trips.. and as a carry on bag for plane trips.. I am more of a buy it once and be done with it kind of guy.. and this bag serves that role.... thanks for the discount code I may pick up a couple other pouches to attach to my main bag..
  6. I work indirectly for Verizon.. have not heard anything about the Iphone, and since the Droid just launched and is doing really well I don't understand the introduction of a competing product..
  7. while I guess it is a good practice just to be extra careful.. but I don't think you are obligated to do so..
  8. I am no lawyer but I think it is simple as that.. if it can't lock into place.. then it is not mountable.. I don't think it being able to just hang there counts as mountable..
  9. I didn't want to offer my 2 cents since I had no idea why he was asking.. but I agree with you completely..I don't think it matters if you call it a mount.. lug.. etc.. because NJ uses the vague wording "mount".. I think that it is safe to say they are saying "can you readily mount one".. the lug is no longer a countable part when you can no longer affix a bayonet to it.. because at that point it is no longer a "mount"
  10. why would a private seller need my drivers license..
  11. here I will help you with some gross exageration.. semi automatic shotgun + NJ = SUCKS for anything other than hunting.. lol I forget the exact law wording but tiny magazine capacity.. no obvious pistol grip.. no folding stock.. one on the dream list since I will likely never see it in NJ would be a converted Saiga with drum magazine.. drool...
  12. Happy Birthday! day late but hey.. at least I'm here.. lol
  13. good luck with whatever you decide to go with.. be sure to review whatever it is that you buy so that others can gain the knowledge from your experience! helps us all when playing the guessing game of what to buy!
  14. that one is pretty blatant.. could I have that on a Saiga..
  15. for what it's worth.. most guns do have a pretty distinct sound.. EDIT: NOT saying that I could randomly ID a weapon simply by its sound.. lol just saying..
  16. we are just adding color to the story.. it was likely a bolt action 22... of course if it does in fact turn out to be a bolt action 22.. that COULD always be confused with a "military style sniper rifle similar to the rifles used by the military"
  17. that totally makes sense... I guess if it is consistant it doesnt matter if it is an inch low.. or an inch left... since your friend is just using it to practice.. good point..
  18. It has been floating around the interwebs forever.. lol I personally like the car listed as an AK.. lol I mean you can only hold reporters so accountable.. I think that if a reporter knows NOTHING about firearms when reporting they should just be vague and say things like "assailant with a rifle" as opposed to "assailant with banned ak 47 machine gun"... remember.. you are a reporter.. NOT a firearms expert.. lol
  19. that is impossible.. everyone knows the AK47 is banned in NJ... it is therefore impossible for someone to be attacking with one.. BUUUTTTT.. with that said.. "ak47" could mean literally anything.. LOL
  20. your points are all valid.. and even offer some things I had not considered.. but as you pointed out.. if I were going to practice something like movement.. You could do it just as simply with an unloaded cleared firearm.. when I read "airsoft as training" I was thinking force on force.. and in that capacity I think it lacks, because the force is so mild.. not to say nothing could be learned from it.. there is always opportunity to learn.. I just view airsoft more as "fun" than "training" but I guess anything that has you moving and shooting, IS training to some degree..
  21. The realism of the "guns" is cool.. the ability to train with something similar again pretty cool.. the downside to me would be the lack of ability to "mark" a target or even feel you have been hit through some heavier clothing in colder seasons.. I can see the "fun" aspect of it but the lack of ability to score hits makes it a deal breaker for me when considering it a serious training aid.. I think that paintball while generally unrealistic when compared to actual "guns" is still better due to being able to score hits.... If you are training to neutralize targets having a paintball marker that marks a hit to me offers a greater advantage over something that may feel real but just has you randomly firing away not knowing if you are hit.. or if you are hitting the target.. just my 2 cents..
  22. still figuring all out what I need.. I do have a box of AR parts from various ARs that I have owned.. if I don't have to buy a tube, stock, spring, buffer etc.. it is a few less parts that I need to buy all at once..
  23. * So is it safe to say if it is slant in the back it is commercial? * if the buffer is "too heavy" or whatever.. would that cause any malfunction? or damage? thanks for all the info! the diagram is really useful
  24. I understand that there are military and commercial spec.. and that there is a size difference.. but I am going to put together an AR15 at some point.. and I have an extra buffer tube, spring, buffer from my DPMS 308.. I assume I can not use the buffer.. but can I use the tube? I honestly do not know how to idetify one from the other? thank you in advance for the help..
