Hi Toni, Where in NJ were you fishing for Blowfish was it anywhere in South Jersey? Also are they a salt water or freshwater fish?

I will go with Toxic Avenger..LOL! Fishpaw I actually do have that app and the scanner going but nothing was being reported. It was truely odd, it looked like a manhunt! I was wondering if there was some crazy armed person going through our neighbourhood! If anyone hears anything please let me know.

Hello Everyone, Last night my brother and I heard a helicopter around 10:45 flying near our home. We were watching tv and the sound came and left but over a period of five mins the helicopter's sound got progressivly louder. My brother and I then stepped out onto the porch to take a look what is going on and about 250ft across from our house was the helicopter. We watch it fly around a bit then it cuts on a huge spotlight and flys around then lights up our street. Shortly after that police with hand held spotlights starting driving around out neighborhood. They went around several times then later we heard a loud whistle and see about seven police cards go down our back street. Later we see the helicopter fly away and they start checking the area of greenfields. I check all over the South Jersey news but I could not find anything regarding this issue. It had to be something major to involve this many police and as far as I know it must of been state police since I do not think local police have their own helicopters. Does anyone have any idea what the heck was going on?! Never the less we made sure everything was well locked last night! This was just unnerving!

Hi Clangclang, Actually I have the same exact firearm. I purchased it the day after Obama won the election, LOL! The M&P 15 had been a wonderful rifle over the years and I have customized the heck out of mine over the years, I think that's half the fun of buying an AR! If I get a chance I will see if I can put up some pics. At the time I purchased mine new through Butches Gun World in Vineland for just shy of 1,000. Although prices have seemed to of dropped since this time. All of the Smith and Wesson products have a lifetime warranty. One thing to consider is that the lifetime warranty only applies to the first owner so I do not believe that particular gun will have a warranty but mine has run great over the years and has not yet been in need of repair. This particular gun also has a chrome lined bore to resist corrosion and has a 1 in 9 twist. I have personally found that for some reason my gun is more accurate using heavier bullets such as the PMC Xtac 62 grain and runs better with a descent amount of oil. I hope this info helps! I purchased a Cold Steel Hatamoto, fantastic knife. The blade uses san mai steel which is layer of high and low carbon steel causing the edge to last, I have had it for over a year and a half and have not had to sharpen it once. I have done some research online and found many people who have a 92 their gun shoots this way? Also have you done any mods to your gun? Thanks!

Hello Everyone, I have recently taken a introductory training course for IDPA at the Quinton Sportsmens Club. The course was a lot of fun and I learned a lot about the competition. Going into the class I was thinking that the guns used for IDPA would be primarily carry pistols such as snub nose and other types of smaller carry guns. However, I learned at IDPA is primarily shot with full size firarms. This will be a problem since I only have an XD Sub Compact .40 and a 9mm Beretta 92FS Vertec model. The XD leaves me at a disadvantage since its short and some of the shots for IDPA are 25 yards and my Beretta would be perfect but the IDPA will not allow me to use a duty belt unless I am law enforcement which I feel is unfair. The Beretta 92 Vertec only has about two types holsters and I recently purcahsed a brand new blackhawk serpa level 3 rig and duty belt. Does IDPA have a workaround for this rule? The only other issue is that since IDPA has a hammer down rule at the start it would require me to shoot my Beretta in double action during the first shot leading to inaccuracy. IDPA looks like fun and I would like to do good at the competition does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

Hello Everyone, I just read an news article regarding a local traffic stop in my area for an expired registration. It turns out the guy was 21 and has an AR15 in his car which did not meet the NJ requirements and he has now been arrested and is looking at $25,000 in bail. Wow! I know he broke the law by not complying with NJ laws for firearms but does anyone think this is a bit excessive? However, there were a few flags which went up with this case since he was transporting the firearm at 3:00 in the morning. Thank you everyone for your outstanding responces to my question, it has been a help! The package from Mossberg with the chokes is due to arrive tomorrow. I will then re-pattern the shotgun and see if the recoil is reduced with the ported choke. The odd thing is the first time I pattered the gun with Winchester SuperX 3" loads I aim at the middle of the target about 15 yards back and fired and the pattern all hit at the top of the target. Any ideas why? Also below is the question I asked Mossberg regarding the ported choke and their responce, it was quite interesting! Question: My shotgun came with a XXFull choke for Turkey Hunting and today I purchased the X-Factor Ported Turkey Choke Tube from your website will there be a large difference in Muzzle climb with this new choke? Answer: The ported choke tube should help reduced the muzzle jump o the barrel by about 10 or 15 percent. Thank you everyone for your help. Hi Everyone, I have recently passed my Huntered Education class and purchased a Mossberg 535 shotgun to be used for Turkey hunting. My gun came with a XX Full Turkey Choke but I also purchased another XX Full Ported Turkey Choke from Mossberg. However, I have been hearing conflicting stores if the ports actually reduce muzzle flip. Does anyone have experience with ported chokes? Thank you for your help!

Hi DJNEB, I was actually looking at purchasing one of these pistols a while back since they looked really fun to shoot at the range! However, upon investigation I think that a Draco would be illegal since it meets more that three of the criteria listed below. I believe numbers four, five and I believe two apply. I also checked on Budsguns.com and they sell this pistol but they also will not sell it to NJ. Personally I was really bummed to find this out since I really wanted one. Thank you everyone for your outstanding responces! I was actually like of suprised to see how many people here watch Top Shot! Personally I want to like the show once they actually get shooting. With all the drama I feel that I am watching an MTV reality show at times. However, I did notice somee of the shots are so easy to make especially with high powered rifle while others simply take expert skills to make. In regard to vladtepes comment I think your idea is wonderful. I would really like more people to become educated in the area of shooting sports instead of everyone thinking evil media thoughts once they hear the word firearm. I think at the National Shooting Sports Foundation recently started a program like this called First Shots http://www.nssf.org/FirstShots/ you might want to check with this organization to get a program started in your area. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to get a general consensus on History Channel's show Top Shot. How does everyone feel about televised dramatic shows like Top Shot & HBO'S Lock 'n' Load? I have noticed that a lot of television shooting shows created over the past few year as the interest in firearms and shooting sports have grown. In my opinion this was primarily due to Obama's stand against guns and the fear that at any time a law could be passed to take away more freedoms. Getting back to the shows what shows do you feel accurately represent the shooting community?
