  1. I meant by name - Joe is shooting Jack is on deck Chris is in the hole Brian, Sam, Pat & Lou are resetting.
  2. Would it not simplify thins that in addition to calling out who is shooting, on deck and in the hole, RO would also call out the people doing the reset?
  3. You think that not sitting down and helping out are synonymous?
  4. I use it. You can get all the props by searching the 3d-Warehouse for IPSC, USPSA or IDPA.
  5. Actually I think that this is where we can improve things to make things going smoother. With 14 man squads, you have 9 people available to reset. That is an overkill. What ends up happening is that early in the match everyone is all eager to help reset and you have people run up to paste one or two targets or lift up a popper or two. Then 2/3 of the way into the match everyone is tired and moving at slow pace. You really do not need more than 4 people to effectively reset a stage. Just need to come up with a system to establish rotation. This way every shooter would reset for 4 or 5 shooters per stage and have a chance to rest a bit, reload and socialize.
  6. What technique are you using - weaver or isosceles? With isosceles foot positioning does not matter. I shoot lefty. When I have time to set up, I will have my right foot very slightly forward. But I have seen videos of my self shooting matches, and my feet are every which way at any given time. I am right handed and left I dominant. Like another poster in this thread I have always shot lefty. It is unnatural for me to handle firearms any other way. So regardless of stress I will pick up the gun left handed. However I have shot this way since I was about 6 or 7. For anyone not shooting off their weak side since early childhood, I would not propose this as a solution to cross eye dominance. It is easier to learn to shift your gun slightly and use your dominant eye.
  7. I think we need to figure out a way to use the space that we have better.
  8. This keeps up, we'll have to go to a two day format! It was a challenging match, but also a well balanced match in terms of variety of challenges. The only thing missing was the Texas Star. I have plans for it for the next match. Seriously we should perhaps think of a slightly earlier start. If with the increased attendance we could get a few more people to come in early and help set up, we could probably make the first shot happen earlier. A few more people trained up on palms would also help. We did have tremendous help tearing down this time. I think this was the fastest tear-down of a match that I can think of. Its also great to be able to put a couple more faces to the forum names.
  9. You DO NOT need 6 mags on your belt for any division you could conceivably shoot a Glock in.
  10. I have one BladeTech molded double and three safariland single mag pouches for Glock mags. I'll toss them in my range bag. Slav
  11. I think I have some extras. I will look tonight.
  12. Not bad for an eyeball estimate!
  13. I have more or less the same thoughts as above, but in addition to that it looks like 80% of the tumbler is taken up by media/water. With dry media my ratio is 50/50. I use crushed wallnut bedding I by from pet stores with bras polish. I rarely have to tumble for longer than 40 minutes. Once the media gets really dirty it goes up to one hour perhaps. After that I change media.
  14. I got it...how about a yellow six pointed star? That should do the trick. Nothing beats an old classic.
  15. Thanks, I watched their step by step video. I am going to stick with crushed walnut.

    1.7 vs 1.9 twist

Fair enough. Now that I am starting to load for rifle, I will test with my hand loads.
  17. There is no reason to de-prime pistol brass prior to cleaning. Tumble them, lube them and load. What is this steel media you are talking about?

Vlad, it would depend on what you define as just fine. In my recent tests of Wolf 62 grain , Privi 62 grain and Wolf 55 grain out of BC 16" 1:7 barrel, the 55 grainers performed the worst of the three. I got about 1.5 MOA out of Wolf 62s, Just under 2 MOA on Privi 62s and around 2.5-3 MOA with 55 grain wolf. I will be the first to admit that the sample here is not huge. I also did not measure the groups so these are eyeball results. But there does seem to be some visible degradation in performance. On the other hand, in my experience with wolf it can be less than consistent from case to case (and maybe even box to box). I seem to recall shooting decent groups with 55 grain wolf out of that barrel when I first got it...but now I have to wonder if I was using 62 grain and not 55.
  19. It throws up a shot pattern, right? So while it may not be optimal, it will certainly bust clays if you do your part.
  20. I voted other. IMHO compacts are too big for comfortable carry. And I am not a small guy. I would go with a subcompact. All of the makers you list make a subcompact. I personally am biased against XD. So either Smith or Glock would be my choice.
  21. My formula is to bring about twice as much I think I will need. Since I started using this formula, I have never run out of ammo.
  22. I know my share of LEOs. Unfortunately it is not those guys (who are professional, respectful and polite) who are shaping my opinion of the profession. For good or bad I do not think of them as LEOs. I think of them as fellow shooters (those that I have met through shooting sports) or fellow parents (those that I have met through my son's school or sports functions). It the "membership has its privileges", "respect my authorota" types that I think of as a stereotipical LEO. Unfortunate.
  23. I bring 300. Most days I end up taking at least 120 back home. It is not like ammo is going to spoil from being exposed to the outdoor air.
  24. A stage that makes some of the targets visible from multiple locations forcing you to remember if you shot them or not.
  25. I said it was simple, and it is. Its real simple to set up. I did not say that it was going to be simple to shoot.
