  2. "I carried it (a revolver) religiously and during the summer I asked a friend, a man who had been one of Franklin's bodyguards in New York State, to give me some practice in target shooting so that if the need arose I would know how to use the gun." ~ Eleanore Roosevelt, quoted from her autobiography. "Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom." ~ John F. Kennedy, March 20, 1961. "By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia', the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms', our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason, I believe the Second Amendment will always be important." ~ John F. Kennedy, April 1960. "Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible." ~ Hubert Humphrey, from "Know Your Lawmakers, Guns," Feb. 1960, p. 4 "We have no gun control in Vermont... We also have pretty close to the lowest homicide rate in America." ~ Howard Dean, then-Governor of Vermont, May 12, 2003. Kansas City Star. "Gun laws haven't been an effective solution to the underlying problem of violent crime." ~ Al Gore, Washington Monthly magazine, 1986. "Gun bans don't disarm criminals, gun bans attract them" ~ Walter Mondale, April 20, 1994.
  3. Plenty in Dicks the other night.
  4. Sgammo.com is where I normally order from. Were totally sold out and now they are starting to get decent inventory by today's standards.
  5. Starting to see ammo inventory again at normal prices. Not much longer now.
  6. Just had 8 cameras installed, Good Samsung bullets, 1tb DVR. A bit over 4k two installers who,do nothing but this and it took them 5 days. I would never try it on my own. It has motion detection and I can select certain areas in the pic and it has an alert tone in the house and snaps 3 pics and emails me them. I can also view all cameras live from my iPhone. It's worth every penny.
  7. ADT bought Brinks. I think it's why most smaller alarm companies hate them cause due to their size they just swallow up the competition.
  8. I had a 9yr old system when I had ADT do the upgrade last year. I knew exactly what I wanted and was very happy with the install. Honestly I haven't had a bad interaction with them in 10 years. My only issue was a adt reseller. ADT took care of that issue. If there is a better service in my area I would like to know.
  9. Did I miss a post? Still don't understand why copper and cell is a bad idea. 2. What is a better monitoring service than ADT and why? 3. While I like to dabble I would rather know that I pay a small fee each month to ADT and they make sure my system works. Is there another company that does that? 3. I know about smash and crash and I think I have that covered so not an issue. Really would appreciate any help as I am always looking to improve on what I have.
  10. Got mine at grabagun.com and FFL pinned the mag. Did a lousy job but I got my CZ!
  11. Have ADT now with the service plan and pay about $45 a month. Own all my own equip. When there is a problem ADT notifies me and if they can't fix over the phone they send a tech out at no charge. I am happy with my system and my experience with ADT for the past 10 years. What can I do to improve on this?
  12. That's why you have a motion sensor in the basement that has an instant trigger. Prob solved. Add cameras that take pics and email you whenever someone trips a camera motion and you are better off than a bank!
  13. Another shooting? Any info yet?
  14. It seams to me the thread is less than accurate. Looks like they did sell a few online for an inflated price but clearly aren't doing it in the store. Is it wrong to list on gunbroker and let the auction run its course?
  15. IF you pay that price YOU are the idiot. It's your choice. You are free to NOT buy it! If you can't find it for less than are they wrong? You miss the point.
  16. & How many times do we go into a shop, browse at all the goodies and THEN buy online at a better price? It works both ways!
  17. Also may I suggest copper and cell. When Sandy hit I had NO cell backup but my wired line was good to go. The best way to buy an ADT system is to know ahead of time what you want and don't deviate. Also Brinks installers are non-union and do a far better job so get them when possible.
  18. I have ADT and am very happy. I have the service agreement and whenever there is a problem they can diagnose over the phone or will send a tech out. For a few bucks more a month it's worth it to me.
  19. Blah, get over it and stop crying. If you "can" find a better price than buy it. If not and you want it pay the price. Don't really see why it's such a problem. They are in business to make money, not friends.
  20. Make sure the wood is DRY and aged. If you burn fresh cut wood you will get creasote and risk a chimney fire.
